OK, let me try clarifying again - if you vote, with a conclusion of that he tried to take over the Republic (even if he originally did the whole sacrafcing stuff and got too deep, needing rescueing himself), that is still "Evil" DS. I guess Evil was a bad word - Sidious is a Sith Lord who, besides from the Jedi, wasn't some brute like Malak. So fine, ignore the word evil if you must - just DS then.

The way it works is you play the +/-1 to match your oppenents value. Normally, this would be a tie, but withe the tie breaker, it's a win for you. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, you have to play it when you have 19 and the opponent 20. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Or when you've just busted on 21 and opponent is 20. Oh man, now I'm gonna have to think how I make it happen in my game - ok...never mind, just got it.

Let's sorta clarify something - if Revan wanted to eventually rule the Republic, that is DS.
-
Very True. Keeping the Republic safe from the True Sith may seem like the sacrafice/LS option but if Darth Revan is a smart Sith Lord who judged the True Sith (which btw, I'm not too fond of either unless they're dead) to be a greater threat, and thus to be taken care of first, it is still classic power-hungry Sith that they still control the galaxy.

Uh... "lucky enough" to discover Malachor V? What in the 666 layers of the abyss is that supposed to mean? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maybe it was supposed to be Rakata and Star Forge.
-
Well the possibilities that come to mind are: 1. He discovered the Star Forge ruins and being tempted with power, he went off to fight the Mandalarions as an excuse to go look. The two main problems with this is that Juhani portrays him as still being LS when he first goes to Taris, plus he's wearing the DS outfit in the Dantooine cutscene. I suppose he could've been a double-life sorta person like Sidious with the whole Jedi rouse but that doesn't seem likely. 2. As a said in the original, he goes off to war to protect the innocent, and slowly becomes more obsessed with power and eventually learns of the Star Forge and goes off looking for it. Regardless, it's nice to know you think he's a good ol Sith. The only way I can agree with it is if he was as stupid as Anakin and thought that going DS would be for the greater for the good. He may have been trying to play hero, being strong willed and all, but the only problem with this is that he is marketed as being very noble to do it - which just doesn't seem to match with stupidity and arrogance.

(*) this option is the same "severity" as the above Sidious one but is a way of showing that the K2 stuff about preparing the galaxy for the True Sith and stuff. I call it the "Go play Tie Fighter" option.... This is a thread sorta spawned from (Poll) Was Kreia Evil thread. Hopefully this is just as straight forward " . For me, I say evil DS because he was just the exact profile of a power hungry Sith Lord. I was quite content with the original reasons of Revan being corrupted by the promosing power of the DS Star Forge, and either going to war as an excuse to find it, or because of his LS stuff on Taris, became a bit power hungry during the war and discovered the Star Forge or traces of it. Obviously there are few gaps now with K2, but I also noticed a few weird things like they make the point that he left military buildings intact, which I actually just associate with (good management of maintaining conquered systems), and then saying the True Sith will not be a conventional battle . Either way, I also just think it's un-Star Wars (not necessarily a disgrace to it) to have a Sith lord who isn't a Sith Lord. Like I've said before, go play some Tie Figher , and "help the Emperor restore piece and order throughout the galaxy!"

I agree that Jolee was definitely LS but well...he wasn't in the game. I think this is distinction though that people have to make. Jolee's beliefs sit in the gray region, yet he is obviously LS in values and stuff like that. Kreia is neutral in that she is not a Jedi or a typical Sith, but her actions and motives are clearly DS.
-
I said Evil - maybe not classic blood thirsty power hungry Sith evil but still DS nevertheless. (for all the various reasons above) but the blatantly obvious one is she wants to destroy/kill the force is obviously some crazy old coot. Kreia is a long long way from Jolee, so I don't see how they can both be neutral.

the closest I can think up is the cut DS Atris but that doesn't look cartoony. yep, screenshot would be useful.
-
Maybe you should generate a name from K1 or K2 and use that.
-
I agree. I personally prefer Male Revan so I'm not sure if it matches any of the female heads (but hey, Revan is who we want!). Anyway, yeh, very very good Carth.
-
It would've been good if they had left that part of the ending in - but alas, I guess if they ran out of time well then so be it. I know it would've seemed too much like K1 if Atris became Traya (ala Bastila to DS) but I am a sucker for these sort of things and I don't mind a rescue of yet another damsel in distress. I also think the DS Atris doesn't look like her, which is why I'm just guessing this was one of the relatively early cuts, even though I'm not sure why the sound files are still there.

I got the impression (remember I didn't fully know what the mass gen was based on) that the Academy was some mystical Sith thing held together by an "external force" which ofcourse is the dark side.

One big flaw about the game (and the whole Mandalorian war thing from K2) is that I never knew what it was when it mattered. Like Bao Dur talks about activating it the first time and all that, but I never knew what it did in the first place! (until checking here to verify what I saw ingame) I guess this was sorta consistant with how the ending was anyway - just play and don't bother trying to understand. I don't know anything about Wedge's plan but I do remember that great series of missions where your Interdictor Harpax is being chased by a Rebel Cruiser and Harkov's Star Destroyer (cos they can't escape while that's around) and only the Rebel cruiser was fast enough to catch it...ahh good times.

I guess I kinda diverged a bit with the LEGO Star Wars thingy. I just can't see how Revan can stay missing in assumedly a "dark" unknown region and still be LS. I know this I'm a bit biased by Mysteries of the Sith where Kyle explores some old Sith world and goes DS, but I don't see how it could work any other way. Although personally, like I've said elsewhere, I am a fan of Revan/Bastila happy ending (well, maybe not focused entirely on them but u get the idea).

would have been cool if this HAD been in KOTOR...

They didn't even show a kiss at Bioware so I'm not too optimistic of anything. -

dufflover replied to Eddo36's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The basic idea is quite interesting. In both games your player has been a guide for others (I haven't thought about it that much though, I got an exam Monday), and all party business usually involves you. One situation that comes to mind (I suppose only works if you're some sort of Master as suggested in a K3 thread), is that you see your Padawan, or even just another Jedi party member in general, falling for another party member, and so you can choose how to address that issue (or even perhaps have the romance sprung on you in a situation). -
Thats because the simplicity is part of the fun and charm. It's not however the sort of game that most people would play for 50 hours. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeh, I know - it's a designed charm/satire game. I've played it for quite a bit. Maybe not 50 hours but I'm spending a lot of time on it. Heh, bad example, cos I guess you can't use Star Wars gags if the game is where the gag comes from.

Does The Sith Lords for PC support widescreen res?
dufflover replied to GoldenTiger's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Why wouldn't you be able to play it? Take a widescreen TV for example - if you watch a regular 4:3 program, you'll just end up with black bars on the side since it's not wide. Stretching to incorrect ratio is your most likely enemy, and that depends on the driver, not the game (assuming it doesn't support WS). -
but most 20yr olds would have a pretty firm idea though. I'll probably end up (just from the skills I'm learning) doing low-level software like Mobile phones, TV's, DVD Recorders, etc. .

Just curious, how many bug-fixes do you think are in the current unreleased/un-compiled patch? The perception I get from it not being released is that there are too few to warrant it, but I'm still reading about heaps too.
-
Keep in mind that all this is ALREADY DONE. They've got those movie files and un-downsampled music files on their server or whatever. Perhaps they should stop trying to fix all remaining bugs in some mega-final patch. I originally thought one reason for not having a small 2nd patch is because there aren't enough bug-fixes in it to warrant it, yet, from what I'm reading, there are still heaps.
-
6 part KotOR - no thankyou! It's already shaky - I don't want another 4 games of Force Bond or True Sith fibs. After K3, make a new KotOR series in some other time). I have occasionally wondered if the movies had enough "party" scenes to make a KotOR out of. Look at LEGO Star Wars, it's modelled exactly on the movie but I haven't heard any accusations of it being boring and predictable - the LEGO gags are hilarious.

The most useless character
dufflover replied to Flamethrower's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
My rankings here would be: 1. G0-T0 (no reason at all) 2. T3-M4 (only when I needed a workbench, that's it) 3. Kreia (one-hander didn't suit me and I use Valor anyway) In regards to some other posts about characters: HK-47: He was much more useful in K2 than in K1, although he didn't really have a reason to be in K2. I put maximum sniper shot, maximum Assassination protocol (50% damage on critical hit!), and some other blaster related feat (more damage and bonus), plus a disrupter rifle upgraded to focus on critical hits. Mira: She had this feat which made her blaster attack rolls really high so I used her as replacement Atton. I haven't had a game with Hanharr or Disciple yet. (only 1 game, lol)
