Shooting for 30 hours?
Ah, you got that right. I'm not big on role-playing, so that's probably why I consider it the best PC RPG of all time.

Shooting for 30 hours?
You really need to finish it... It will leave you feeling something very special.

Shooting for 30 hours?
Baldur's Gate 2 is better. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What makes you say that? ... Never tried it, but I think Planescape: Torment better then both. "

Oblivion: PC Gamer Praises in Preview
I've read the story (actual story!) will be a bit more "tighter." I'm guess it won't be as big (and empty) as Morrowind, but will have something better to follow.

Resident Evil 4
I found Outbreak to be awesome Of course it's meant to be played online so the offline AI kinda sucks, and is pretty counter productive at some points... but once you unlock single character mode the game plays like any other RE For some it's an aquired taste though. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's very fun, but Capcom really screwed up by not including some sort of communication while in game.

Oblivion: PC Gamer Praises in Preview
I don't know why, but since this will be coming out for Xbox 360... You can expect a very unoptimized PC version. ... It's just a feeling I'm having.

Shooting for 30 hours?
Wouldn't "balanced" mean appropriate challenges for the current PC? Or more commonly that no classes have large advantages/disadvantages over others? I've never seen balanced apply to level progression. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hades is bitching about a number and that fact that you will be fighting higher tier monsters too soon. Difficulty doesn't matter to him, only the fact that you hit 20 too soon according to his precious rules.

Fitness and Health
I guess I'm a sucker for the hole fitness and health thing as well. I do a 5~6 mile run daily and at least and hour (most of the time two) of sit up and push-ups before I got to bed while I watch the news. I also hit the weights 2~3 times a week when I have the time. EDIT: I still eat mostly junk food though... Stupid job, why does there have to be nothing but burger joints around the are!?

Yet another NWN2 Interview - Teh Protagonist!
I like the idea. I just hope it isn't open-ended to the point were the story suffers.

Resident Evil 4
You suck <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Granted, I played in on my PS2. But I don't think superior graphics could have saved it. (considering I heard it was a rather crappy port)

Resident Evil 4
It's not a very good game...

Resident Evil 4
I sorta wish they had kept the old format too. More puzzles and things to solve would have been great. But I did enjoy the new battle style, made the gun fights a lot harder. I guess that's why you hated them, since you have poor dexterity.

Interesting fights...
He would probably have the same control over it as Nihilus. Then again, the Exile isn't a slave to the force...

Shooting for 30 hours?
... Okay, I give up. Live by your rules, the rest of us will enjoy a (hopefully) good game.

Shooting for 30 hours?
No, apparently I don't see it in the same way as you do. The way you describe it, your characters will be far too powerful by the end of the game. He or she will be able to destroy any fiend in a single blow and that will ruin any kind of challenge the game has. If that was the case, yes I could care and I would agree that the game is incredibly unbalanced. However, what I figure is... You hit level 20+, yet the monsters are still hard. You still need to enhance your skills in order to get stuff done because the game is still difficult at that level. If that is the case, you really are just bitching about a number and nothing more.

Shooting for 30 hours?
What does it matter though, even if you are at level 99 and the the game is still hard? Your getting completely bent out of shape over a number!

Shooting for 30 hours?
Okay, pretentious PnP players... how does this sound. Your make it to the final dungeon, you've just hit level 20 and are cursing at your monitor because you are "God" like now. You walk into the final dungeon and begin to battle ... You get your ass kicked because the monsters are in fact, as tough or tougher then you. You see, because level 20 in this game, is different from level 20 in a PnP game.

Shooting for 30 hours?
What does it matter how powerful your character is as long as the game is still difficult? So your at God status and your fighting enemies that are on God status +1? Who cares.
-
Shooting for 30 hours?
No, but I am stuck on a balance between rules mechanics and story design. Both need to compliment each other in a balance in order to make a great CRPG. Saying damn the rules, you have an action game and not a CRPG. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Your logic is still stupid. Your not going to like the game just because you can hit level 20 in 30mins.
-
Shooting for 30 hours?
Which is silly. Play the game for the content and the experience. I seriously wonder how you've been able to enjoy any CRPG, because as far as I'm concerned they all allow for quick level progression. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He is so hung up on the rules, I actually think this game could be a masterpiece and he would not like it for that reason alone.

Shooting for 30 hours?
No Hades, just no. I will play this game. I will get to level 20+ by the end of the game. It will be 30 hours of fun, because I know OE will come up with a neat and interesting story. I will be satisfied when I finish. Unlike you Hades, because you will get all upset over something completely stupid.
-
Shooting for 30 hours?
I just don't think it's important. Involving gameplay mechanics into the story just seems like a bad idea.

Shooting for 30 hours?
You had the courage to say it... (I did not) @Hades What the hell is the big deal if you are indeed level20+ by the end of the game? Who fricken cares. That won't make the game any worse. As long as the game is challenging and fun who the hell cares how fast you level up.
