  1. Could be useful for potential backers, thanks! On the other hand, I guess no printed manual is no mistake?
  2. Josh's mentions of keywords for spells + drop of vancian casting gives me a Divinity: Original Sin vibe. Like combining different elements / afflictions for greater effects. Despite my reticence on them reworking the PoE1 system, at least, I like the mentality Bobby Null described of being determined to iterate until they find something they're happy with. Now, as someone else mentioned, beta needs to be of big enough scope.
  3. Actually, let me go back on what I said... Those fig descriptions are a serious mess. Like, take the printed game manual. Only the $199 tier has it? really? Not even the $149 CE? I mean, the regular $59 physical box should have it, bare minimum. PoE1 had it. Otherwise, what's in the box? $14 more (compared to the $45 premium digital) strictly for some cardboard seems a bit expensive as others have already noted
  4. Thanks for the clarification. Like most, I would obviously have preferred what you did with PoE1 with DRM free CD + key but I'm fine with that solution too. Just need to decide what tier I back now
  5. All spells per rest is actually the first time I'm worried for Deadfire. On one hand, I have a lot of faith in Josh, he has proven me time and time again that he knows what he's doing. And I like the vast majority of the changes that have been announced so far. On the other hand, this seems unnecessary... I know it's not Tyranny's cooldowns yet but it looks like a step in that direction and I HATED that. Combat loses so much of it's tactical aspect
  6. That's an absolute no. Please, never do that. They tried with Tyranny and it was awful. As for the stretch goal itself. I think it's cool. Low commitment, won't break the game, won't change the way important NPC are portrayed, just a nice touch for added roleplay.
  7. The question Rolandur is asking is actually tied to mine from previous page. Cause right now, it seems that if you want to get a box and play the game right at release, you either need to get the CE or pay an extra $30 which kinda is expensive. Especially since PoE1 did not have those restrictions. Again, I will 100% back the game but the physical tiers don't quite seem fair right now.
  8. Oh, cool that you're answering question here sir, I've asked multiple times Feargus on twitter but he has ignored me so far. In the description of the Physical Box tier on fig, it reads "This does not include the digital copy of Pillars II". But your post I quoted is somewhat ambiguous because if I get to choose between steam and gog, it could be that a digital copy is indeed included. The reason I ask is because I really wanna buy a physical box but I know from PoE1 that it can get a while before being delivered (living in Europe, it was almost exactly 3 months). With my standard physical box KS pledge for PoE1 though, I could choose between a gog and steam key so I had the opportunity to play the game right at release. I'd be very sad to wait that long to play PoE2 Can you clarify please?
  9. Voted no preference but really, I'm fine with either 5 or 6. 4 is definitely two low and I did not like it in Tyranny. But I trust Josh 100% that his reasonings for 5 are well thought out and that he can come up with a balance in classes and encounters that make the most out of it.
  10. PoE1 was delivered to me exactly 3 months after release (living in France). No way I wait this long without playing PoE2. First because if the game is good, then I want to play it :D And also 'cause it's easier to avoid spoiler. And while I will 100% back it, I'm not sure I can afford the CE. So yeah, hope they can add tiers / change the existing ones...
  11. There doesn't seem to be a key for physical box tier though which is a shame... IIRC, PoE1 KS had the box + the choice between GOG / Steam. Considering how long we waited to get PoE1 delivered (at least here in Europe), that's rather unfortunate. Don't even think that would cost them much to include one, hope they reconsider.
  12. Quick question on this one: I'm lvl6 so I was planning on starting the expansion very soon. Thing is, my ISP ****ed up and I'm out of Internet for about a week so, stuck in 3.04 for now. As long as I avoid the various auto saves of the game, you guys confirm me that no difficulty drop should occur (first time playing on PotD, would like the game to remain challenging ), right?
  13. If this one is confirmed, it's seriously annoying... I stopped a PotD playthrough right in the middle because of a similar issue that was making enemies stronger in 3.02... Don' want to do that again... If you guys are working on PoE2, I hope you're making a big overhaul of the save system...
  14. This is most likely the last update we ever get for Pillars right?
  15. That's the issue. They should have fixed the deflection bug right away THEN take their time for more polish. I mean, I'm stuck in the game. I literally cannot progress through the White March because of it. You never want to wait 2 months to look at game breaking bugs.
  16. Agree... This one was almost game breaking for me... Was in the middle of Galvino's workshop for my very first WM playthrough, lvl7, POTD + Expert. Was wondering why I had that much trouble until I saw the bug report. Had to cheese pretty hard to be honest to get through it. Should have been a hotfix of some sort.
  17. In my current POTD playthrough, I also wanted to change a bit and see if something else was viable, even though I love Durance and will absolutely pick him again in the future. My party is: PC: ranged chanter, invocations and party buffs. Zahua: Juggernaut style monk, main tank. Maneha: off tank / melee DPS. Hiravias: healer, storm caster. Pallegina: naked ranged support / dps palladin. This one is not conventional Aloth that will be replaced by Devil of Caroc as soon as I can. So far so good, although I must say it can get pretty tough without a priest, we'll see how far I go
Merci !
  19. Same here... But I'm getting impatient and have nothing else to play right now so I'll probably go with 3.02... Hope it's good enough :D
  20. As someone who loves his evil playthrough in BG2 and was a bit let down in that regard by PoE (even tough I think this game is amazing nonetheless), I'm very much looking forward to it.
  21. There's a middle ground between drama et PR bull****. You can ask interesting, in depth questions (which, again, most of the time, the interviewer managed to do, kudos to him for that) without the "drama"...
  22. I too also think it's too bad the interviewer sometimes loses focus and try to dive too deep in "drama" questions because otherwise, he's doing a pretty good job. And Eric's answers are fantastic, it's rare to see someone talk at length like that about his job.
