  1. I hope you keep going and finish - Kotor is a really good game, and of course sets the scene for Kotor 2, an even better game.
  2. This is what DVD box sets were invented for. If you didn't get any for Christmas, go out and get.
  3. Try this (courtesy of Gamefaqs, a very useful resource by the way) - Move the top one on the left pole to the middle pole. - Move the upper middle one on the left pole to the right pole. - Move the top one on the middle pole to the right pole. - Move the lower middle one on the left pole to the middle pole. - Move the top one on the right pole to the left pole. - Move the upper middle one on the right pole to the middle pole. - Move the top one on the left pole to the middle pole. - Move the bottom one on the left pole to the right pole. - Move the top one on the middle pole to the right pole. - Move the upper middle one on the middle pole to the left pole. - Move the top one on the right pole to the left pole. - Move the lower middle one on the middle pole to the right pole. - Move the top one on the left pole to the middle pole. - Move the upper middle one on the left pole to the right pole. - Move the top one on the middle pole to the right pole. Oh, I'll just shift this to the Star Wars Universe forum.
  4. Try using the space bar to pause while you figure out the correct attack style, at least until you get used to the system. The story is great - stick with it.
  5. I expect they will: - They're making Starcraft 2, a similar sort of game, so they presumably don't see the genre as dead. - Blizzard has the money to do anything it likes, and since they started by making games like Warcraft, they presumably like doing so. - WoW can't last forever, can it? Can it? - Stories are no problem - if all else fails, just reboot.
  6. I've read that the Maya Civilization of Central America was in a very much reduced state when the Spanish encountered them, and had lost most of its knowledge of astronomy, architecture and so on. There are several theories as to how and why this happened - the most interesting (though probably not the most widely accepted) is that the astronomer-priests simply announced one day that they had read in the stars that the civilization should immediately abandon its cities and go and live in the forests.
  7. Oblivion I get (I wish I had some of those hours back), but what was it that put you off Morrowind?
  8. If you're approaching the end of chapter two (I think I'm near the end), then knowing whether a particular character lives or dies feels like a very big spoiler indeed. Maybe it won't seem so big after I get into the next chapter, I don't know. I appreciate that use of spoiler tags is a judgement call and there was no intention to spoil in this case, but it left me feeling very spoiled indeed. In any case, if everyone involved wants to continue to discuss the merits of my editing, let's do it via PM.
  9. "I'm playing The Witcher, and am still in Chapter 2", said Steve pointedly.
  10. You can also vote for MotB at RPGWatch in the 'RPG of the Year' poll on their RPG news page.
  11. Obsidian moderators - beyond awesome!
  12. Hi, and welcome to the forums. You're going to need to describe the problem in a little more detail. Which planet are you on? What exactly is the 'writing test'? What is it asking you to do?
  13. Not in the grand scheme of things as I see you've opted to slaughter and entire town Mr. Nice-place-to-visit-but-I-wouldn't-want-to-live-here. Who, me? I only killed the bad people,
  14. Since theslug asked: *Romance spoilers* If you played as a female character, you had two romance options: Sky or Silk Fox. If you played as a male character, you had three options: Dawn Star, Silk Fox, or Sky. - as a male, it was also possible to romance both Dawn Star and Silk Fox at the same time (as a deliberate story element, not a glitch). Generally, if you followed the light-side - sorry - Open Palm approach, the romances with Sky and Dawn Star were very easy - you just had to talk to them lots, travel with them lots, and be nice to them. I found the romances harder if you took the Closed Fist approach - it was tricky to tell the difference between the dialogue options that converted your love to the CF and those that killed the romance entirely. The gay romance with Sky was also quite tricky, in that you had to be very careful to kill off the romance options with Dawn Star and Silk Fox quickly, otherwise it wouldn't trigger properly. There's a very detailed FAQ around somewhere with all the necessary information. I expect gooey romantic nonsense from Bioware and they do deliver.
  15. I scrolled fast. But I'll bear that in mind.
  16. I enjoyed Chapter 1, though I didn't find the atmosphere as gripping as NWN2. Still, it picked up a lot towards the end. I was partly put off by all the crashing - it quite often crashed when I saved or transitioned between areas. Happily, I found a solution on the Tech forums - I turned off my hard drive's write caching and it seems to have improved a lot. Write caching's not important, right?
  17. I just finished Chapter 1. I'm quite pleased - The fight with drove me nuts though - it kept crashing as soon as I'd won.
  18. There was.
  19. Has it ever been that low before? Not that it necessarily means we're near to release. I don't think they've restored all the missing content yet.
  20. Merry Christmas!
  21. For the first ten minutes maybe...
  22. Cheers, Tigranes. I've started the game and made it through what I suppose is the first proper battle without too much difficulty on medium, so I think I should be okay? I really wanted to avoid Easy as you say, even though I don't particularly enjoy combat, but I don't particularly enjoy playing as an obviously ridiculously over-powered character either. And I'm having a Titanic moment:
  23. RIP Willie Rushton
  24. I can't remember this problem being reported before, I'm afraid. All I can suggest is you take a look at the FAQ's Vista section and check through some of the fixes there, and also post this problem on the LucasArts Kotor 2 technical support forum so you double your chance that someone who knows about it will see it.
  25. The problem has been reported before, and no-one's ever found a reliable solution for it, as far as I know. Re-installing sometimes works. restarting sometimes works, reloading sometimes works, and sometimes is just doesn't happen even though you didn't change anything. I wish I had something more substantial to offer, but it's been so long since I played the game, and I only had this problem once or twice. Assuming you have the official patch installed, I can only suggest trying the Kotor II technical support forums over at LucasArts.
