  1. The choice is actually a fairly minor choice in the grand scheme of things and basically amount to whether you want to talk or fight to solve problems on the first planet. It doesn't align you with a faction. The faction alignment stuff plays out over a much longer timeline and multiple planets.

  2. Quest Mechanical Matriarch is bugged. The hidden door in the Automech Production Facility won’t open. I don’t get an ‘open hidden door’ option. I’m playing on PS5. The quest seems to be bugged and I can’t progress. Anyone else with the same problem? I found someone on Reddit with the same issue but no workaround yet I guess. Would be nice if this could get fixed

  3. the skill checks in the game are so high and diverse, with level ups and points being so limited and far apart that I feel like I’m missing half the game. I’m about halfway through now and I’m struggling to care about anything because I can barely get half the information and due to skill checks. At least with being able to respec I could tediously go to the ship every 5 minutes and back to slot things into the categories I need, but not being able to and the checks being so high is just ruining the story and gameplay for me

  4. Yep, it was definitely an Amazon original. It was on network TV here which is what I was remembering. (Same was true for Orange is the New Black/ House of Cards and whatever the werewolves show was with Famke Janssen for Netflix, all were on network tv here but not in the US. And funnily enough, Rings of Power is on a domestic free streaming platform at the moment here)

  6. Plus Fallout. Funny thing about The Wheel of Time is that the reviews/ratings improved every season, but that wasn't enough to keep it going. I thought from the start that the concept was hopelessly ambitious. Word has it that Jordan planned this as a trilogy, then dragged it out for 14 volumes. It was badly in need of significant trimming.

  7. The eyes and mouths are a little freaky, but you mostly get used to them in motion. I'm not saying it's my favorite, but...as far as modern anime art styles go, you could do worse. Do I think it would only take some lighting/color tone changes to make it look like horror instead? Yes...but beggars can't be choosers. My problem with this movie isn't the art, but rather the general direction. It's one of those movies where it has what you want...in theory, but something's just a little bit off, so you feel disconnected and it just doesn't really end up working despite its good qualities. Frustrating, as usual. Another one to add to my proof wherein I feel it's not actually the art/visuals that's the root cause of my issue with modern anime, it's the general direction and style overall...which the visuals are sometimes married to, but not always.

  9. I think I've done this before, but Amazon did make The Boys, Bosch, Jack Ryan, Good Omens, Invincible, The Expanse, etc. The only thing they've messed up that I can see is The Wheel of Time. I know you dislike Rings of Power, but even with that, they aren't doing too bad with that track record.

  10. Well, I didn't enjoy my experience, though to be fair I did consciously refuse to initially engage with what was clearly a rather important choice. From my perspective my gripes would be that: 1) initial choice felt rather sudden and arbitrary and didn't provide enough context to commit to such decision (I do wonder why they didn't go with more traditional route of NPCs petitioning you to do something, and you fulfilling their request meant supporting their cause) 2) and coming from that not fulfilling that person's request (or even doing the complete opposite) seemed to have no effect whatsoever on either of parties involved. It's as if they cared more about me saying I side with them, rather then actually helping. Anyway, I think it is safe to say I have abandoned my playthrough as I feel no desire to go back, especially as it seems the first bit I already experienced haven't presented the game from it's best side. Will give it another go on a later date once I am more in the mood.

  11. After getting off the plane in Sydney, the man waits to go through Australian customs. "Do you have anything to declare?" asks the Australian customs officer. "No" replies the British man. "Do you have a criminal record?" "I'm sorry, I didn't know that was still a requirement."

  14. I really liked TOW, I have played it a lot of times by now. Its funny, it has good characters, interesting places, and decent gunplay. Compared to standard Fallout 4 I actually prefer it overall. But when I replay Fallout 4, or New Vegas, or Skyrim, I always start by modding them. They all come with great official modding tools that allows me to change them in almost any way I want. For New Vegas, which is a bit old, I usually add mods that make gun play more responsive and intense. Also add some user made expansions and locations (love New Vegas Bounties). For 4 I add mods to improve the crafting, add tons of new components, and mods that allow settlements to expand automatically instead of me building the whole world. All these mods make the games way better, and in the end its why I have more hours in even Morrowind than I have in TOW. All of them come with official modding tools that are based on Bethesda's own game development tools, allowing you to modify almost anything. This adds so much longevity to their games. Meanwhile TOW has just a few mods that changes some minor things. Its either graphics changes or small changes to variables. Not having mod tools remove so much potential for improvement. So yeah, for The Outer Worlds 2 (and Obsidian's upcoming RPG Avowed) they really should add mod support. They use Unreal Engine 4, which has actually come a long way when it comes to modding. Look at other UE4 games like ARK or SQUAD for simple proof, or look at Unreal's own documentation, tutorials or forums. They have gone out of their way to allow developers to add mod support. I hope the devs see this. I am in no way saying that this is something easy to do or anything like that. I just want to point out that mod support is not just some extra gimmick, its one of the biggest features a game like this can have.
