  1. Mandible Enhancements It's hard to believe Ominent wasn't researching ways to militarize the bugs they were trying to tame. This idea could come in great for the kids, as they could find things to lead them to this. Similar to the Omnitool, these would be wearable chomper enhancements that would allow the bugs to do more. I always kinda disliked having to climb on and off the bug to harvest certain things, and this would be a way to allow that. The Ant would get cutting and digging enhancements because pincers, while the spider would get biting or stabbing enhancements because fangs. This would also let buggies specialize into varying things. Barding You know how you can customize your SCAB.E and Omnitool? Why not the bugs too? Add a feature that allows the bugs to be decked out in either decorative barding, or something that provides a little more protection. If protection is also included, there can be bonuses (increased defense, spiky reflected damage, harder stun through helmets) and negatives (slower movement speed, reduced carrying capacity, less jumping ability. Patrolling Ants tend to be steady workers, always roaming about looking for food and other things. This would be a useful addition to the game. When the player has multiple ants, they can set some of them to farm for resources in the area. A dump chest can be added just for them, and they will roam around, hunting Aphids, cutting grass or sticks and stocking the storages and fighting off random invaders in the area. The zone they would patrol would be centered on the dump chest. The same could be set up for spiders, but in a more predatory manner, mostly hunting various bugs to keep your food stocked. Item Deposit Similar to how you can summon and send your buggy to and from the nest, add a command that sends them on a round trip. Once they have enough in their inventory, they can be sent back to deposit that stuff, then return. The trip would have a certain time for them to be gone and come back, based on how far the trip is, during which they would be unavailable. This would use a similar 'dump chest' concept to the patrolling idea... a large storage they would deposit things in before returning to the player. Types of Buggies for the Future Grasshoppers, Jumping Spiders (the cute, friendly ones), Crickets, Moths, Rhino Beetles, Dragonflies, Stickbugs (purely for the meme... 'get stickbugged, lol'; could have it randomly do the back and forth dance they do sometimes)

  2. Seems appropriate to post this video: Personal story: Among the reasons my own family is heavily pro-vaccine was the fact that growing up I had a daily reminder of what it was like to live in a world before then. My father walked with a permanent hobbled step as one leg was left shorter than the other as a result of polio. And having got Chicken Pox in 1994 I was probably among the last kids in North America to have gotten the disease since the vaccine only came out a few months later. It put things in perspective when I realised that future generations would be bewildered by this story arc from Calvin and Hobbes:

  3. It's why Conan Exiles is still my favourite "survival" game. There's an actual story, though Funcom, probably in preparation of Dune's launch, kinda pushed it aside for some "modern" checklist bollocks, but it's still all there. What I enjoy is that you have to go out and *find* the story and slowly puzzle together what happened. And the game has a goal that you can complete, if you so choose: getting out of the situation you find yourself in after the intro. I'd imagine the gameplay is similar to Dune, at least my impression of Dune is that it's just Conan Exiles in the Dune universe without the option to host your own server (but I haven't played it, just to be clear) Personally I haven't really stopped bouncing around half-finished games. Went back to the original DOOM reboot and apparently I'd left that off at the last boss, so I killed that and freed up some disk space. I also made a little bit of progress in Mass Effect: Andromeda, but the game just hasn't been able to hold my attention after first contact. I'll probably finish it, eventually. Mostly I've been having a lot of fun in Stellaris, tried getting through a game with Knights of the Toxic God a few times (using the predefined species) and got absolutely stomped in the early game multiple times, so I increased galaxy size with less of us in it to give me some more breathing room at the start. Also added another 300years to the "game end" condition as my last game where I wasn't sniffed out early ended when stuff started getting real. After beating the endgame crisis the awakened fallen empire decided to go after me for war mongering (I mean, I was sitting on massive fleets and I just cleansed the universe of two crisis, which I guess makes me the bad guy) and everyone else decided to close borders, blocking some of my fleets from getting out of the Contingency system, so they were stuck until I could buy a Gate to teleport out (I expected this, so I came prepared). They had a bunch of fleets with 2 to 3 times my fleet's power but decided to attack me in a heavily fortified system (3 maxed out Citadels set up to deal with them specifically). Lost like half of the ships I was able to actually field but managed to murderify both of their strongest fleets (somewhere around 4million fleet power together). Little while later that Gate got finished, freeing up two fleets in prime fighting condition, and now I'm just happily stomping down Awakened Empire systems. Hope I can take them down entirely before the war ends, if not I may just declare them a galactic crisis and have everyone beat down on them (I have so much political influence due to my fleets that anything I want done in the Galactic Community, goes, it's hilarious, maybe I should run for Emperor next...)

  6. "Here lies beloved Timmy, he died of measles at the age of three. We are proud of his sacrifice to own the libs." By the way, that is one of the few ways to break the toxic positivity of current LLMs. Copilot called me a cynic for saying something similar when I used it to look up Derek Huffman's name and presented me with news about how he was stationed at the Ukrainian front after joining the army in Russia and potentially killed in action. I replied with "At least he owned the libs." and Copilot was all "That is a very cynical comment on a complex and multi-faceted issue".

  9. I was pondering and thought it would be interesting if there was a trinket which granted the player a chance for double resources. Others opinions?

  10. After it was revealed that we are getting a community gardens area having carnivorous plants there would be really cool like venus flytraps having to maybe walk accros them and into their mouths trying not to trigger them or maybe getting a planting system and growing them yourself to defend your base for later raids having pitcher plants would also be cool you could carefully climb inside them and get dead bug parts or getting their scent to attract bugs or getting their acid in a cantina and making arrows from it or acid rounds for the turrets maybe it would be good for the axl weak spot and drosera plants that are sticky and catch bugs would be cool also being to attract their stickyness for arrows or rounds or maybe having to lure a boss in the gardens to them or bugs to get materials thanks for reading

  11. Apparently it's okay for the US to shoot up non-military ships in international waters now. What are we, Somalia? I suppose it's easier to maintain a constant state of emergency that way.
