  1. Sometimes, I kind of wish Keyrock were still around so that we could all make a point of repeatedly saying what a stupid piece of **** RFK Jr. is.

  4. That is not true. They stack multiplicatively/probabilistically. 30% (Berserker) and 25% (Fighter) and 15% (one handed style) would result in ~59% overall. That is because the game goes through every applicable conversion ability you have, one after the other, and tries a conversion roll. If that's successful the process stops and the conversion happens. With applicable I mean if you roll a hit the game will only go through the conversions for hits. And then it's done. So only one conversion can happen! The game doesn't allow graze to hit and then again hit to graze. Only one conversion. So even 100% graze to hit + 100% hit to crit on a character cannot convert all the way from graze to crit. Exception: if one conversion happens on the character's side and the next one on the enemies'. Example: a Fighter with Confident Aim attacks a paralyzed target. He rolls a graze, but it gets converted to a hit. That hit gets "applied" to the enemy and because the enemy is paralyzed (25% hit to crit received) the game checks conversion again and in this case it works and the hit gets converted to a crit. I guess all conversions get put in an array, list or directory in the order they were achieved. And then the game loops through the array and checks every conversion effect on you in that order - it will use the first conversion that rolls successfully. I don't think they get sorted (like hit to graze first and then hit to crit conversions). But I cannot say for sure.

  5. Trying the Terror from the Void mod for Phoenix Point. I don't think I'll last long enough to see if any of the changes/additions from the mod are any good. The changes to classes and skill trees gets a meh - whatever rating on the internationally recognised melkathi scale*. The non-vanilla human enemies, where every group of scavengers, every squad of jericho troops, has a leader granting an ability to their team, and they all have cringeworthy squad names gets a please go back to writing Harry Potter fanfiction rating. Adding npcs to staff the initial base instead of having everything AI run, gets a thumbs up. But is that enough to get me to care? * often described as a jaded, grimdark version of the popular BruceVC game rating system. Just from the perspective that people are useless amateurs until proven otherwise.

  6. So Patel's FBI is probably going to start profiling trans people soon, I am figuring. Also, laughing at people outraged over Psaki saying "thoughts and prayers" are not enough

  7. I would appreciate an option to be able to mute my buggy so I don't have to listen to nonstop Ant noises whenever I jump off to use my bow or pick up resources or when it's just hanging around the camp.

  8. I will second that motion. I’m also fine with there being a slider in the sound options as even just decreasing the buggy sounds by 50% would be nice. I’m pretty sure i would prefer mute but I’m sure some players enjoy their buggy making noises.

  9. Can we get our hauling strength and stacking back. I remember in the first game with my mutations and red ant armor I could carry 20+ planks and stems. With the ant mount it would make since that I would be able to move more material.

  12. Non-GPU griping news: You can apparently now build an entire ship in No Man's Sky, walk around in it, use it as a mini-flying base (I guess?), and leap into space out of it. I've downloaded the update but haven't turned it on yet. If one can build a decent mini-base sized ship that doesn't fly/handle/land like the Titanic, it'd be my dream. No need for a freighter then. It'd be nice if they put the build-station in Abandoned Mode too, but probably not. Hasn't happened yet, but by the time Light No Fire releases, NMS may/is gonna need a new PC to run it well/max. It's not really that deep a dive but if one wants to hear him talk about it a little.

  13. Talked to some friends about some mutation ideas that could be added to Grounded 2 in the future. Besides some of the obvious improvements like increased carry capacity or movement speed for the mounts, maybe there is a mutation for the Soldier Ant called Lieuten-Ant that changes it's ability from recruiting worker ants to recruiting an additional soldier ant. Since the Orb Weaver is more of an aggressive mount, we came up with Web Slinger - Charging the block/ parry webbing for a few seconds (similar to the charged bow shot) allows the web to be launched forward to stun or stagger a target. This would be on a cooldown, maybe 10-15 seconds, and tied to stamina consumption.

  14. Far as I'm concerned, it's very intentional. And yes I know re: bus size, ddr capacity etc. being limiting factors. Hence, "design better." 6070-6080 should be 16gb vram minimum. I suppose the xx60 could remain at 12. If 60xx generation has any 8gb cards I'll roll my eyes pretty hard. Just me tho. edit: I personally want 24gb min, which is why I keep looking at the xx90's.

  15. So I fixed the problem, and this was it: Since I had install POE _after_ other games, I already had a %USERPROFILE%/Saved Games folder, so it used %USERPROFILE%/Saved Games/Pillars of Eternity to save its games. On the NEW machine, POE was the FIRST game I ever installed, so %USERPROFILE%/Saved Games did NOT exist yet. Thus, it created a saved games folder in a different place: %USERPROFILE%/Documents/My Games/Pillars of Eternity I followed these steps: Step 1: after installing POE fresh on a new machine, play it and create a save Step 2: exit POE, and search for the save file (not in AppData, in your user profile) Step 3: once you verify that the save folder is being used, copy your files over to that directory Step 4: restart POE and your games will appear under a "v PLAYERNAME" entry which you will click to expand it, your games should be there! Once I had saved a new game, and located the new game that I had saved, then verified that fact, I easily located it (and after being tipped off in reddit discussion to the fact). I moved my other saves into that folder, and it now WORKS just fine. Still cant find it? I also got a tip that some people with differing language locales might get folders named for that language "My Games" might be whatever that is in your operating system's locale if it isn't english-us, so be sure to look. Don't worry about APPDATA (aka Application Data) It seems the Local and LocalLow did not make a difference except for during runtime as tempfiles(?) so maybe those dont need to be worried about. Thanks for enduring my impatience.

  18. When a building part is placed inside of, or close on top of, the ground surface, all respawns in that area should be shut down. This should include plants, resource points like Acorns, insect or animal spawn points such as for Larvae... everything. The points are *not* removed, and if the building part is moved, the respawn timers will be reset, allowing things to grow and spawn there again normally. ALL building parts should be included in this, but especially foundations, scaffolding, and floors should have this effect, along with any other 'base level' building blocks that a player might use as a foundation for the rest of the base to be constructed on.

  19. My OCD loves to sort my inventory manually. I put food and resources at the bottom right, my weapons and such in the top left, and resources I pick up, just fill in the rest. I'd love the ability to "Lock" the position of items within my inventory, that way I can still use the "Sort" function but it won't move those items. It would be extra beneficial if it could "remember" those locations when I die and go back and pick my backpack up.
