  2. the government is seeking emergency relief, so we could get a shadow docket decision almost immediate... or the Court could sit on this until as far out as july. just a reminder, birthright citizenship ain't the relevant issue. what is in question is the scope o' the injunctive relief afforded a single district court judge and based on an admitted shallow reading of tea leaves, it seems increasing likely that we are witnessing the end of nationwide tros from district judges, which is a big f'ing deal. so, a shadow docket decision where we only get an order from the Court and maybe an abbreviated dissenting opinion as explanations, will be the most significant Court action in a couple years. edit: we first brought this tro issue up on this board last friday, but am suspecting most people won't realize the significance until the trump administration starts using the anticipated new reality to deport thousands even while they is losing individual case after case after case. however, not all the scotus news from today is bad. The court ruled that the totality of the circumstances and not just the "moment of threat doctrine" must be used to assess whether the use of police force was "objectively reasonable." practical result o' this is that it becomes far easier to sue cops for excessive force. yeah, cops still get qualified immunity, but this is a win for those who is looking to bring civil rights claims against cops. ... truth is there is way too much law news from today, and is kinda a mixed bag o' good news and bad news. we may try and summarize the cases we personal feel is important, but am facing a deluge. trump is doing so much through novel executive orders that the legal challenges is taxing our ability to keep pace. HA! Good Fun!

  4. Level 8 is okay to start the White March. Crägholdt Bluffs is high level stuff. The mercenaries are already tough, but the vessels of Concelhaut are even tougher. I see no reason why 2 Ciphers wouldn't work. Her attributes aren't that bad. She's just not a min-maxed offensive glass cannon. I mean 10 RES and 12 CON is hardly on the high side. She's got nice DEX and INT. I personally think that CC (especially mind control such as Whisper of Treason and Puppet Master) is the best use of focus. To deal weapon damage in order to then deal spell damage seems kind of redundant - might as well continue to deal weapon damage with the help of Borrowed Instincts and Tactical Meld. Of course if it's a CC spell that also does damage (like Mind Wave or Amplified Wave): even better. But two Ciphers who dominate enemies impact every fight against non-immune foes significantly. You can make them both ranged (a blunderbuss specifically aimed at low DR targets - is a good way to gain big bursts of focus), but Grieving Mother can also be used in melee. Melee combat usually has a bit higher dps than ranged in theory, which should yield more focus. With Time Parasite, Llawran's Stick (quarterstaff with speed) and durgan steel she can reach 0 recovery. She can also stay behind the front line with such a reach weapon. Durance's staff is a nice backup weapon against crush-immune foes then.

  5. Finished original Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Pretty cool, but flawed game. I really enjoyed the setting and an immersive nature of the game. I also liked characters, though felts fairly bored by the plot, especially by the end. In general, I enjoyed it more when the game allowed me to roam free and offered a more freeform way of solving objectives. I really liked the early and mid game, but I felt the game overstayed its welcome. The nature of leveling system means that about halfway through the game, I was an unstoppable force of violence and charisma. Not having to specialize always dampers my enjoyment of an RPG. Also, I also felt that the better my character got the worst the game became. There was something appealing about vagueness of the early game, and once I understand how the game works I was far less invested - gameplay wise, those are not exactly great systems. Still, looking forward to the sequel, though I will take a break from the IP for now. Modded my arcade stick a bit - put in larger actuator and a mid tension spring. I am still getting used to it, and while it didn't solve my most common input fumbles, it made double tapping for dashing and certain specials much much easier due to shorter stick travel distance. Very helpful in SF6. My hand is getting tired again, though, after longer play session.

  7. So two years ago I hung a birdbox in one of our trees and it was a rousing success (3 chicks born huzzah). Then last year I took it down and hung a new one in the same spot and bupkus, no residents and the squirrels eventually nibbled it to pieces to take the cedar to their nests. This year I bought a two-pack of boxes and hung one in the same spot and one a few feet away, and Im thrilled to report we have a nesting pair in one of them! w00t! Next up I plan to hang the hummingbird feeder. I love those little guys. I really want to make lifelong friends with a crow or raven but I dont see them too often around my house.

  10. I bought my first watermelon of the season last week and I am disappoint. Its almost completely devoid of flavor. I was so excited to see a giant tri-wall full of them in my grocery store that I jumped the gun and probably need to wait until summer kicks in.
