  1. You don't need enemies, when you allies are more than willing to rob you and if necessary point gun towards you

  2. Has anyone done this with their voices? The portraits are easy, and all the voices are right there. I feel there had to have been a lot of people wanting this at some point....but game is older now and not alot of discusion I can find on this. I've found straight swaps for the default voice options in POE1....can implment them super easy (sinister, smooth, stoic) but none for the companions. Does anyone know if anything like this exists? I'd really like to remake Zahua and Durance with their voices.

  3. I am going to make a second character to beat the game again, but I would love to be able to explore every inch of the map with the character I made. I feel like I could explore this world forever.

  4. The compass in Avowed leaves me checking the map constantly. I think it would be much more helpful if it was just a small minimal since I can open the map and see my position amongst the terrain anyway. I think it would also, at the very least, be useful if I could disable compass rotation. It's much easier for me to navigate when the compass is static so that I can map the area in my head without having to think about the orientation in relation to north constantly.

  5. Correct me if I am wrong: my understanding is that Arcane Veil adds to all DR (stacking), hence why it is hard to balance since some players can choose to wear good DR armor in addition to Arcane Veil. If it was a flat DR (like max. 50% DR), which could make plenty of sense as a magic shield spell, it would be fine. It would then be used mostly by those wearing low DR armors or to block projectiles.

  6. Did a short break from Deadfire and went into Lost Records: Bloom & Rage. It's probably the best Life is Strange type game in years. Though I'm not sure if it's really a game or rather an experience. Chapter 2 is supposed to release in April... sux.

  7. So, before the latest update there was an indicator next to each quest that showed the difficulty of that quest with skulls. Now they don't show anymore, so i have no idea what i am running into.

  8. Oh, I also saw a massive ad for Avowed in Times Square. It was one of the corner ones that stretches around. Here are a few more good photos of our trip: The Bone Museum in Brooklyn One really good family photo. I don't know how we got the angsty teenager to smile.

  9. Like all nerfs on stuff I was using, makes me a little sad but it absolutely makes sense. It was just way too good, too easy to pick up, and outshone the fire and frost ring defense spells that came later, despite them requiring more investment to get. I think it’s still really good for early game PotD, it just no longer crowds out all other defense spells beyond that.

  10. Trip Report! I took the family to NYC this last week. It was the first time for all of us. My wife just turned 50, and my daughter is going off to college in the fall, so I figured this was a good reason to celebrate with a pretty big trip. It was a stretch financially, but I did my best to make it a special trip. Here are some highlights: Skating in Central Park: We actually packed our ice skates for this trip. An entire suitcase was dedicated to bringing our hockey skates across the country. It was worth it. We got out on the Central Park rink and it was beautiful. The hole park is amazing and I ran through it every day, despite the temperature feeling like it was in the low single digits. Skating with my wife and kids was my favorite moment. Dungeons and Dragons 20-sided Tavern: This was a fun improv show a bit off broadway. It was interactive. You chose whether you were a warrior, rogue, or wizard, and then you used your phone to vote on decisions for the party. My son really enjoyed this one. They were amazing at improv. The Great Gatsby: I'm actually going to talk about the show on a separate thread, since it affected me more dramatically than anything else I've ever watched. But needless to say, the whole family enjoyed it and it was a perfect Broadway show. We stepped out of the matinee show and it was snowing in Manhattan, so it was a pretty magical moment. I still feel like I barely scratched the surface of what Manhattan has to offer. We went to the Bone Museum in Brooklyn, we took the Subway, we visited the 9/11 Memorial. I ate bagels every day. But there was a lot I didn't get to. Hopefully someday we will take another shot at it. Maybe when the weather is better too.

  14. Hello, how are you today, I hope you are well. I am wide awake but it's that periodic and persistent moment where nothing engages, so I sits. The sun is out and I could roam the neighborhood for sights and smells but it would probably just be car exhaust and dog peed lawns, so I sits and stares instead. Maybe in a bit I will get some yummies for dinner and watch a movie, so many movies to choose from, not sure I can decide, so maybe I will just sits some more. Tomorrow I have a lot of errands/things to do, so perhaps sitting while I can is best. Have a nice weekend.

  15. Ok, just finished The Forgotten Sanctum. Not that bad either. By now I've disabled the level scaling, because I couldn't bear it anymore. Didn't made the combat ridiculously easy, but it was a lot less tedious for sure. This dlc kinda proves again that Deadfire probably would have benefited of less, but bigger / more condensed islands. Spending more time in a location gives it a lot more character, makes it feel alive, and not like a random recycled mini-dungon.

  16. Someone shared the tip you can power attack with a wand to make it briefly light things up, but yeah. For most part the game just decides to light up when I enter dark spaces. My headcanon is that I have bioluminescent growths on my face.

  17. I realize it's been a month already, but I thought I'd notify how I solved this problem, maybe someone will find it helpful. I installed the Binary Opposed Dispositions mod and told Eliam that he was free and that he could go to the Temple of Berath in Neketaka. I got one Benevolent disposition point and then just overlapped it using cruel disposition points that I earned by other actions. Thanks for the replies everyone.

  18. Same issue here. Just tried going back to an older save and no luck. Do they really think someone would get that far into the story without upgrading when the game is constantly telling you to upgrade?

  19. As long as you prevent her from casting Llengrath's Safeguard too often it's not too bad. In SSS the story requires doing relatively few combat encounters - most of them are optional. Backstory of SSS is quite interesting, I thought.

  20. Hi, check this out! We found a big box in my father-in-law's attic and in it - among other stuff - was an old German youth magazine. "Why did he keep this?" we asked ourselves - until we discovered this: Awesome

  22. Looking to 100% this and can not get this to trigger either, even started a whole new game and: - Did no side quests including armour one - Went straight through main quests up to Speak to the Apothecarist, after killing Thalla - Used only Common +0 gear, did not pick up the unique shield in the bear fight arena - Used exact same dialogue options as shown in this video where it does trigger: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGEJyV4TYE8&t=1691s - Saved after killing Thalla, reloaded, tried different exit, no joy - Fast travelled, camped, returned, left again, no joy I have seen some people say they got it by not talking to watcher, etc. I have tried everything suggested and nothing is triggering it. Hard to want to push on if this will break the 100%!

  23. I can't complete the main quest because even though I have found the Watcher and spoken to them something must have happened because I can finish the quest at any time I talk to them I get generic responses not an actual talk

  24. This ‘Untimely End’ quest is living up to its name, but not in the way I expected – it will never end! I’ve encountered a bug with the main quest where I’m unable to progress because: There’s no directional marker on the map guiding me to the next step. Neither the Ambassador nor the Watcher have new dialogue options to advance the quest. I’ve tried to reload and reinstall the game, but the issue persists. Has anyone else experienced this? Any temporary fixes or workarounds? Super bummed about this because I really did not need to pay for an early release and wish I had not at this point. Hope they can fix from an update soon.

  25. Absolutely needs to be addressed. I just ran into this issue myself. If the unlock requirements really need you to have not upgraded, it's too missable on Path of the Damned, as you're obviously GOING to upgrade to aid survivability. I'd already done all the other available side content before starting An Untimely End. Probably way over-levelled for what it's expecting, but that's how I play RPGs; side content first, main story later. Easiest "fix" in my mind would be to have this quest not count towards the all sidequests achievement, or have a safety trigger when An Untimely End is marked as complete.

  26. Yes, imo uniques should be a fixed quality drop (prob the same quality as the mob they drop from or something like that) because this design encourages weird and non-intuitive metagaming. The difference between having all blue and all green unique weapons and armors is huge in term of versatility and wealth management (at least in the first act/zone). Upgrading all uniques to blue quality costs tons of materials... If you say they continue scaling while you progress into the game, then it's even worse Beeing forced to not loot uniques is just bad.

  27. I died on the first try of the Ygwulf fight. When I respawned and came back into the room he's not there, and I'm locked in the room. There are two doors to exit that both require Ygwulf's key. No other way out. I tried to fast travel out of the room, it says "you can't fast travel right now". I'm not in combat, the quest marker for where Ygwulf is supposed to be is right in the middle of the room, just no Ygwulf and I can't go anywhere, so pretty much I can't play the game anymore.
