  1. Im about 12 hours into Witcher 1 and its been an excellent and nostalgic experience Now that I know more about the Witcher lore and world I am appreciating the game even more The combat mechanics are not great but Im use to them now but Im using a mod called FCR (full combat rebalance ) I had to use a cheat in the Beast battle because of how badly designed that battle was, I hate using cheats but I had no choice You end up having to fight the Beast with no potions and you immediately get attacked in a relatively small area and having to use the frustrating overall W1 combat system It just wasnt worth spending hours to win this battle, so I loaded a cheat mod that gives you 1000 health and then once the Beast was defeated I uninstalled the Cheat I am having loads of fun with the Romance card system, it makes sense because its better than the silly Bioware Romance scenes And then W1 highlights again what an honourable person Geralt is compared to many of the " good " humans he meets like all the degeneracy and iniquity in the village on the outskirts of Vizima The hatred towards Abigail from all the influential hypocrites in the town made my decision to support her easy It surprised me when someone like @Hurlshot said he doesnt like Geralts personality because Geralts core beliefs are about justice and helping the downtrodden and he is a good person at heart who demonstrates real humanity in a harsh world that lacks it

  2. I didn't play much of Sunless. Dredge does not have fuel or food, so you aren't going to start eating people. The focus is on fishing and salvaging. You can upgrade your ship with better fishing rods, nets, crab pots, engines etc. Different fish are in different waters and at different depths. Some you catch during the day, others at night. At night the sea becomes dangerous. You have to use your lamp even on familiar routes, as rocks appear where there were non during day. Sea monsters can attack you. There seem to be ghost ships - I have been avoiding the dark ships that roam at night. You have to sleep or you go crazy. The game has a set map with set locations. There are quests - probably one of them is the main quest, others are side quests. I got eaten once by the kraken.

  3. Thats how you get free medical and education! I thought you were exaggerating so I Googled it up, and holy moly, MSRP is $1,999: Nvidia announces RTX 5090 for $1,999, 5070 for $549 — plus AI, DLSS 4, and more | Tom's Hardware. Toss in another 21% VAT (?) and things escalate quickly.

  4. This is annoying, because contrary to PoE2 (where I tweaked the fire shield so it works from 100% life), I can only adjust numbers for PoE1. +4DR from 50% is basically like +2DR. Which would be a good talent for a non godlike race. Contrary to offensive bonus, defensive one are interesting under 50% because you have to go through this part to be defeated (while offensive bonus under 50% might be useless if you're not the target). The retaliation part probably have to be built around to be useful. 32 fire damages for each attack received is neat (plus might/scion of flame...). Basically the retaliation part is comparable with an average weapon attack, which means you're replicating around 100% (as an order of magnitude) of melee damages taken while under 50%. I still think the Fire Godlike isn't too terrible, and at least provides a feature you can't replicate easily with a helmet. It is one of the best retaliation effect of the game. It is basically narrow in term of builds, but not really underpowered. I think I will stay with 5. Basically makes you feel less bad about using it against a pseudo valid target (like barely 50% health). Also I put Fearsome Strike at 4 per rest and Withering at 2 per encounter. All strikes will become better as a part of rogue buff. I do think too. And the low level nerf is quite justified, and isn't a big nerf either. I don't think druid really needed a buff, but I feel the class would feel overall better with it. and I love PoE druids Sure, I made a directory in the mod package for each class, but the one for the druid is named "Druid - White March users only". Just to be sure people see it before using it. EDIT PS : the development is over. I still need to test rogue (this one might require a bit deeper testing to check high level rogue have a propre balance) I might "publish a beta version here".

  5. Fun fact, I never finished JA3 ... I don't know why. It's honestly a great game, and the gameplay was fun. Guess somewhere near the end I got distracted and then stopped playing. I really want to pick it up again, but now there have been quite a few patches and apparently changes that I'm not really feeling like continuing with my savegame.

  6. So Jagged Allience3 is being offered in this months Humble Choice. I remember some people here played it extensively. How good is it? Worth picking up by a non-JA fan? (I bought and launched JA2 a while ago on steam, but never spent a meaningful amount of time with it).

  7. Replayed Disco Elysium over the weekend. Still really good. After not touching it for 4 years, I also don't mind the full VO from the final cut version anymore. I still think the middle part is a bit meh, because the quests don't really interest me and there is so much running around to do... but the ending really makes up for it. It's just so well written. I'd say my biggest complaint about the game is... all that exposition. Jeez, can you chill for a moment. I don't need to know *every* detail and obscure lore. At some point it gets so extensive that I started to skip lines just to get it over with.

  8. Heya BruceVC - I appreciate the nuance that cRPG are not intrinsically narrative driven. That has been my experience and I have found, though I love a good RPG, if it is not essentially story-driven I quickly loose interest. I think that is why SIMs interest me but tend not to hold my attention for very long!

  9. I started Dredge. I guess it is aimed at people who played Sunless Sea.

  11. I started playing Solasta and it's given me a proper and good UI/UX for D&D5e. BG3 was a tiresome mess in comparison. Having to rearrange all those icons for every character...

  12. Yeah, I considered that, and the damage done matches what's in the combat log. EDIT1: Testing again and paying closer attention. EDIT2: Yeah, it matches. Any extra damage is done by dot ticks, but the ticks aren't forced per hit. EDIT3: Tested again to confirm. Confirmed. EDIT4: Verified it does not force a dot tick even per full attack (using a 1h weapon) Looks to me like this talent is a stinker... adds 1.33 dps and has no synergy with anything. Cipher makes a better rogue.
