  1. Had a great morning, life is good! Hop onto internet, check some news headlines etc. Economics, War, Politics, Hatred! Everyone's insane! Humanity is a terminal virus! ....oh yeah, that's why I stay off the internet more and more now. Imma gonna go kill some zombies and build some towers to feel better again, now. Hope everyone has a great morning/afternoon/evening!

  2. I too am a "re-homer" of all manner of insects/critters and Ive developed a pretty effective method of capture and release. I use a clear plastic cup or glass and drop it over top of the undesirable, then I slide a piece of printer paper under the cup opening, then pick the whole thing up and out the door they go. Works like a charm. I like to believe that when I pass there will be a legion of insects and animals that Ive saved waiting for me on the other side.

  3. I was doing some testing of a few ideas with this sorcerer, and noticed something interesting regarding action speed debuff stacking. It turns out druid's blizzard and wizard's arduous delay of motion action speed debuffs actually stack together, which is contrary to how I thought deadfire mechanics normally work (the larger buff/debuff takes precedence and suppresses a lesser version of the same effect). I tested this on enemies, and when it appeared to work I used a confused berserker/priest of wael to cast confusion on me so I could cast both on myself. Both effects do actually combine to a 52% action speed penalty, which oddly enough is only attributed to the arduous delay effect - blizzard is not listed until arduous delay expires. Here are some pictures to show what I mean. In the first picture my character is affected with both spells, and the second picture is just the effects of blizzard. This also stacks with the recovery speed penalty of blinded, which means you can slow down enemies to a crawl. Miasma (just to debuff defences and resolve) + arduous delay + blizzard + chillfog + freezing pillar for hobbled, and everything is in slow motion. Maybe not as effective as just using hard cc, but pretty fun with a cool ice theme. Everything for this combo can also come by PL 3, substituting freezing pillar for tanglefoot. I couldn't find mention of this interaction anywhere, so I thought I'd post it here - sorry if this was already common knowledge.

  4. That's Gothic, baby. Enemies act as barriers where you can go. That was prior to Oblivion ruining everything, basically. That said, I was able to walk very far into the map by sticking onto the road (and fleeing from enemies) in Drova so far. And the full release is a different thing to the teaser I played... in a good way. Turned off the player position on the map and tutorials immediately. Also went with the single autosave format and no starting bonus. Gonna play KCD II next year as "hardcore exploration" as can also. There's surelly gonna be an option again.

  7. Forgive me if this isn't the place for this post, as I don't think the "Beta Patch" forum for PoE would suffice for this. I've got two bugs that need to be ironed out so far. First up are the conversation banters that play between companions when they're in your party, and you enter a location. The banter plays; however, much of the voiced dialogue/conversation is cutoff or chopped for part of the conversation. I know for a fact that this should not be happening. I'll give you examples: Hiravias - Has never voiced his line when he's in the party, and the party first enters The Salty Mast in Ondra's Gift in Defiance Bay. Every other companion fully voices their line. Kana - Let's drop the subject. (Most of the banter quote is broken. "Let's drop the subject." is the only part of Kana's line that's voiced. The rest of Kana's banter conversation with Hiravias is voiced for this topic. "...You're right, it's a very personal question." is the part that is unvoiced. It should be voiced. Kana - "In Takowa we have a memorial for the Saint's War. ..." This part of his banter with Durance is unvoiced. Bug? Pallegina - "Well, feathers in my case, but I understand your point." The word "Well" is not voiced and it should be. The rest of the full banter conversation between Pallegina and Eder is voiced. I'm currently keeping on the lookout for other instances of this happening with other companion banter. And yes, this is all happening on patch v3.7.1.1411, and mods are not involved. The second issue is a stuttering/slow down problem in Defiance Bay. Even as stable as the game is, and as advanced as my settings/hardware is, the game seems to stutter/slowdown in heavily populated areas, i.e. Defiance Bay. This doesn't apply to Gilded Vale or Raedric's Hold. It doesn't apply in Stalwart, either. I don't know if this issue will happen in Twin Elms. The game or its engine might have some process intensive stuff going on that's causing this stuttering/slow down in heavily populated cities. It's worth a look, I think. -The Mad Engineer

  8. I'll vouch for this as well. I've experienced this myself, only in my case I've seen my save files randomly deleted after I just manually saved my game. That shouldn't be possible and yet here we are. This is why I take manual backups of saves and house them elsewhere, just in case.

  9. Hi! The idea sounds solid. The Sporelings stay viable throughout the game. With Wild Growth you can already make two of them really tanky (they will get Robust for their whole summoning durarion - which becomes very long at higher levels). A Liberator can deal quite a lot of melee-ranged AoE damage with the combination of Sacred Immolation + Nature's Terror. Unfortunately Nature's Terror does friendly fire so I guess the combo Nature's Terror with Sporelings isn't that great in this case. What is great is stuff like Moonwell + Enduring Beacon + Inspiring Triumph on the Sporelings and other allies (+37 deflection, +22 to all other defenses). Another nice little synergy is that a Liberator can generate Zeal when killing with non-zeal abilities (Druid spells). Casting a combo of Insect Swarm + Plague of Insects + Infestation of Maggots can kill a lot of foes over time, giving you the chance to gain Zeal via Virtuous Triumph. Which in turn means one more FoD use I guess. And also means Inspiring Triumph procs (+12 to all defenses for allies). If this was my "tank" I would use a bashing shield I think (combine tankyness + full attacks for two healing procs) and stay in the front line with the Sporelings. I would maybe use Lover's Embrace as my main weapon because its Frenzy enchantment also procs off of spells etc.. It comes early and it's pretty fast and accurate. Its modal can help you tank even more and it stacks with Moonwell's defense bonus - yet its downside (less dagger dmg) doesn't impact your casting and support). I think Shattered Vengeance would be my backup weapon. Or I would use dual pistols and stay behind the Sporelings. The advantage of dual pistols is that they a) are pretty fast b) deal decent enough base damage to warrant the use of 1 Zeal c) have great unique pieces d) use reloading and not recovery so you can immediately cast (or do something else such as Lay on Hands) after shooting by canceling the reloading. This adds a lot of reactivity. e) don't have a deflection malus like some other reloading weapons have f) have decent range The biggest disadvantage is that you cannot engage enemies. But I think two Sporelings already do a fairly good job of holding the line. But offtanking is still needed I think. But that's just what I came up with spontaneously. Doesn't mean it's the way to do it. I also can see a melee "occasional AoE" setup being fun with Marux Amanth + St. Drogga's Skull or something. I think your general idea works well with a lot of different setups. ---- Concerning attributes: Depending on what I wrote above I would pick the attributes a bit differently (front line = more RES). But generally: In order to keep your summons for a long time and the overall benefit for spells and auras I would try to have very high INT: ++ I would also try to have decent MIG because it helps with healing and damage, especially healing over time and damage over time in combination with high INT. MIG: + Since you can heal so well I wouldn't put a lot of points into CON either way: ∅ DEX is important for reactivity and quick casting: + PER is important so you hit things (misses won't proc White Flame's healing): + RES is good when going for a melee approach because deflection (as all defenses) has increasing returns. It also helps with hostile effects (more than most players realize). Front line dude: + or ++, pistol dude: ∅ Unfortunately this kind of character can use all attributes well, especially in the front line. You'll have to balance around a bit. My most important attribute would be INT and my dump stat (not really dumping, but not investing in it in any case) would be CON.

  10. Thanks for the info! I had watched a bit of Abot's ultimate run with the psion/troubadour, it's a really cool combination. The only problem is that I've played cipher a bit too much across both games and am trying to branch out Hellwalker is initially very appealing, if I understand the stacking rules correctly though it can only give you +10 might and +5 intelligence if you are also using inspirations provided by party members (not sure about dance with death accuracy). Still great of course, and very appealing for cipher and chanter as you said, just a more difficult tradeoff for the other casters. I didn't know about the berserker/priest withdraw interaction, that's super cool! The cat lifegiver/blood mage actually sounds exactly what I was looking for! I think the main thing I was hung up on was trying to find some interaction of mechanics that's more interesting than single class but still strong enough to not regret losing PL 8/9 spells. I try to avoid running single class wiz/druid/priest because I found their nukes trivialize most encounters after level 19, but I don't like gimping myself intentionally. Definitely a weirdly specific problem. Also, I just wanted to thank you (and the other forum regulars) for all the posts over the years. Despite never personally posting it's been great reading discussions about builds and mechanics, and Pillars probably has the nicest community I've seen in a video game. Anyways, much appreciated

  12. Results are quite bad for Moldova's hopes to join EU. Big sunk of 'Yes'-side's votes come from moldovians that don't live in Moldova Majority of moldovians that live in Moldova voted 'No'. President does not currently have people's favor. There is high change the politician that favor Russia will win parliament election next spring. And it will anyway be uphill fight to make changes that EU requires. So Moldova will most likely fail to make them in soon enough to get their application to EU processed now when EU countries see that it could be good move against Russia. So if politicians that favor Russia win then Moldova probably will not join to EU in next 20 years. Especially when Georgia sided with Russia and will to support Ukraina is vanishing. So at end it looks that moldovians voted against EU membership
