samm Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 (edited) I got up a while ago, enjoyed a good breakfast and decided to have a day off today Read some more or less interesting stuff on various boards, among them this here: slug wrote:I've been trying to figure out a way to broach the subject without coming off like a jack ass which I've made many attempts at and will no doubt fail again here but in the end I always x out becuase it usually ends up having language that will offend someone That actually sounds good - you're speaking openly. You may, from your perspective, also have some point here and there, but this:start pumping a little iron, and maybe focus some of that extra energy into something constructive like a career and investing in your future. This little paragraph is rather silly - pumping iron? Wth is that good for? Better some real sports... And career and "future" - where's the constructive thing in that Future's nothing because if you concentrate on it as future, you'll always work for some undisclosed time to come and never be happy with your present. Nothing wrong with goals however, but career is one of the most worthless, empty goals there are in my opinion. Shryke Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 sluggy: don't worry about it you're seeing it from an outside point of view, so sure, maybe you're seeing things i'm not maybe it seems like i'm gonna burn myself out or something, and i gotta admit at times i do feel quite on the brink of doing just that, but so far i've had enough self restraint not to fall over that edge and yeah, some of my friends do have some problems, but that's why i try to help. after all, them coming to me in the first place about these things is surely saying something right? so basically i'm just making the most of my situation at the moment i have a pretty concrete job where i'm usually the one relied on as someone who can pick up the slack if need be, i have a pretty full on social life, and lots of friends who seem to see me as a pretty reliable person to confide in, and i do whatever i can to help and sure, not everything is sunshine and lollipops, and that's part of the reason i'd taken some time off lately - to relax and actually have some time to myself to try and sort things out so think what you like i guess when your mind works against you - fight back with substance abuse!
mkreku Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 and yeah, some of my friends do have some problems, but that's why i try to help. after all, them coming to me in the first place about these things is surely saying something right? Perhaps. Maybe it's like patients coming to the doctor.. or maybe they're like junkies coming to their dealer.. or maybe it's the one eyed man being king in the land of the blind.. or maybe it's just easier to hang around people who are as doomed as oneself. You tell us. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!

Walsingham Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I agree that drinking a bit less is a good idea, but other than that I think you're being hard on Shryke. If you ask me (and I know you haven't) I'd say he's just a nice guy who goes out of his way to help people. If he has some cracked friends that's not him falling down, that's him stepping up. theslug Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Deadly nightshade's dog ate architects dingo. There was a time when I questioned the ability for the schizoid to ever experience genuine happiness, at the very least for a prolonged segment of time. I am no closer to finding the answer, however, it has become apparent that contentment is certainly a realizable goal. I find these results to be adequate, if not pleasing. Unfortunately, connection is another subject entirely. When one has sufficiently examined the mind and their emotional constructs, connection can be easily imitated. More data must be gleaned and further collated before a sufficient judgment can be reached.
Guest The Architect Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 LOL wut. Nice pictures, DN, but whatever you do don't name him Dog Meat, what the hell made you think that was a good idea?
Deadly_Nightshade Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 ...but whatever you do don't name him Dog Meat, what the hell made you think that was a good idea? I don't know... Guest The Architect Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 (edited) Well that's good to hear. Anyway, I've just been given a link to this epic website. http://www.fmylife.com/ This stuff is great. "Today, a girl I've had a huge crush on for a long time told another friend of ours to get a life. I, in my infinite genius responded that her mum needed to get a life. She ran out of the room bawling. I got slapped in the face and informed that her mum had died not long ago." "Today, I had just opened up some porn on my laptop when my mum walked into my room, so I slammed the laptop shut. I didn't know the speakers continue to function after the laptop is closed." "Today, I am finally dating the girl I have liked on and off for the past year. In the school play." "Today, my mum decided that me being bisexual meant that I was "deciding whether or not to be a lesbian because no men will have me." Thanks mum." "Today, I took a big sip of water while on a bus. It went down the wrong pipe causing me to cough loudly. The old woman sitting across from me asked if I was ok. Jokingly I said "Yeah, just dying.." - She replied "You too, huh?" Musopticon? Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I hate the Facebook notes meme. I hate it with passion unbridled. Though coming up with those 25 points was fun, nevertheless. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Those who were too weak to survive were sent to Sweden. It has made me the man I am today. A man who craves furry hentai. So let us go and embrace the rustling smells of unseen worlds

Trenitay Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 I found out that a cousin of mine has been sober and drug-free for about six months. Hey now, my mother is huge and don't you forget it. The drunk can't even get off the couch to make herself a vodka drenched sandwich. Octopus suck.
