New bug in Aunties Choice questline
It has worked for me, the VPs are in the room now. I have, however, started playing a different game because I was blocked in TOW2, so I'm going to stick with that. When I finish it I'll consider whether to resume TOW2 or not.

Clipping through objects and falling through map
When ever travelling long distances with a Buggy, often objects are no longer solid with no way of knowing, including bricks and slabs etc, meaning you just fall through the map to die. My base is at the starting area but Iām regularly going back and forth from the greenhouse area to my base via spider, this happens pretty much every trip - if I had to guess it seems to be due to crossing the map too quickly, causing things to not load properly

Yeah, that makes sense But you also could argue he is resigning because as a real right-winger\Nazi the idea of the US being manipulated or convinced to fight a war by Israel\Jews is unacceptable to him. Obviously he wont acknowledge this is the reason. But this is a big part of the anger towards this war from the right-wing extremist groups within MAGA Thats why I ignore all the possible motives and rather focus on what he is saying which is more or less true The entire US strategy on Iran was initially a reasonable one, stop Iran getting nukes through negotiations and then military action if this fails Then suddenly the US and Israel attacks Iran and the objectives are nebulous and unreasonable Trump was clearly influenced by what Israel wanted

Cinema and Movie Thread: coming 2 a theater near u
Apparently Av:D and Dune:M are coming out the same week. Dunedoom or Doomessiah. Is this another Barbenheimer or will one of them blink and change dates? They are probably targeting a similar audience, so a change would make sense.

Sounds like a Maori chant there. I should probably re-read the books.

Early Crimson Desert reviews are in/trickling in over the day. As expected, seems fairly polarizing. Some love it (after 60-100hrs, no one has finished it), some think it's middling etc. Note: I do not "trust" any reviewers re: yays or nays, I only look for gameplay information re: bugz, mechanics, UI, and gameplay loops that may increase or decrease interest for me. For which, I gather, for myself, for this game: 1--world exploration/discovery is dense, vast, immersive and I would utterly love it 2--big boss combat is likely going to have multi-phases and be something where I want to toss my KB out the window, or pull out cheat engine, a lot, and for some progression areas cannot avoid. Perhaps if one explores oodles first it'd help mitigate some of that via over-preparedness but dunno. 3--you can have a cat or dog companion that ends up following and picks up loot, although not always and not always quickly. But still, YES. Also, you can do a slide while on horseback (the horse body-slides). Not sure when one would want to this, but ok, it's still cool. 4--general combat I could probably deal with fine 5--inventory management/space is a nightmare. They will supposedly add a "town/base" storage. Right now it's only chr. inventory/backpack. 6--devs seem quick to patch in/alter things like bugs, UI/QoL complaints (eg, waiting a week for a couple fast patches might be best) 7--no one is going to talk about the game's fantastic story or chrs, because (as expected) that's not what this game is 8--could be the best "wish this MMO was single-player" we're ever going to get Summary: Just like Enshrouded, I would love exploration/discovery/non-combat systems but everything else I'll be neutral to critical of. Except in Crimson Desert, it might be 200-300 hrs before exploration stops motivating me to keep pushing on beyond any criticism, vs. 60-80 hrs in Enshrouded. So - hmm. š¤

Rogue SAP Appreciation Thread
Sap really is just an incredible ability. I can count the enemies on one hand that immune to it, and it never misses. Once a character is stunned for 9 seconds standing next to a rogue with sneak attacks and fast dual wield attacks, there is nothing they can do about it. Not even Concelhaut.

Not the example I used above, but it's mostly energy costs and loss of big c Confidence that are the approaching needle. Though really, AI is an absolutely awful idea economically on base principle (simplistically, replace jobs with AI and who is going to buy the stuff that makes the actual economy run? AI?).

It's a big question mark, Claude seems to be a big leap forward. I was very much an AI skeptic and still am to a large degree, but people have started churning out whole working apps with just prompts. Granted the code under the hood is not optimal, but the app does what you asked for. If the bubble doesn't burst, the cost of using AI will skyrocket, to a point where using human labor may turn out to be cheaper. The current cost for the end user for using that amount of resources is not realistic in the long term.

Not sure we're going to have to worry about it anyway, though I haven't used an nVidia chip since 2007(?) anyway. AI always looked like a bubble, and international events look very much like an approaching needle. If that bubble bursts then they have to pay attention to their more traditional markets rather than turning it all into AI.

Well, for me personally, it's very easy to decide, what am I going to do. Especially with the crazy out of touch prices of RAM and GPUs. I'll stay with my AMD CPU and GPU, which I have purchased in 2021 and keep purchasing awesome games I've never played on GOG š¤·āāļø And there are other options as well for other people to chose as well, to avoid AI slop and still have enough fun within their budget. The console emulation is also getting better each day, and in my country it is legal to make a backup copy of software you purchased on any platform of your choice š

The All Things Political Topic
I really don't think they will. It isn't just the unpopularity of the war, it's the unpopularity of Trump, and of Israel. It's simply not a vote winner, and for many would literally end their careers; and the more transactional will have observed that Trump doesn't actually honour his transactions and is not a good faith negotiator. He has also systematically alienated traditional US poodles like UK/ Denmark/ Norway. All of that might go out the window if people thought sending troops would stop it since there's no doubt they'd like it stopped- or better yet, never to have happened. The general belief is that boots on the ground or ships in the sea are not going to help though, but be a perpetual drain. Might as well be a perpetual drain for the instigator. In the end, Europe can pay more for energy, if they have to*. Those who cannot are the ones who will suffer. *The EU bought every drop of lng from Russia's Yamal field last month. Unlikely to be different this month.

nVidia is an AI company now, you'll accept it or else. While most people have been using Seymore Skinner's "am I out of touch? No, it's the kid's who are wrong" for nVidia/ Jensen's reaction at least as appropriate is Kang's (or maybe Kodos'?) "what are you going to do, vote 3rd party buy AMD?". Though they'd probably be as bad, if they were in the dominant position. Hmm, pretty sure they've always had a microsoft 365/ John Deere option since near the start, if not the start, it's just the perpetual license option is now gone. Certainly there's been a tendency to remove denuvo after one or two years, and given that that costs money itself and corporations are hardly charities doing so out of the goodness of their hearts seems... out of character.

The lightning in most of the shown scenes, completely changes the tone of the scene after enslopification. The worst offender though is that school kid from Harry Potter, who looks 40+ after the touch of DLSS5. For now, it might be offered as an option which can be turned off, but look at what happened with raytraycing. There are already some games built around it from grounds up, and you cannot turn it off. Which in the end, makes these games inaccessible to some people, which are not able to afford last gen GPUs... And this slop needs two of them to run. Note: as one guy on Ars Technica noted, what you see in the video, is the best of the best screens produced by DLSS, which have been handpicked by the marketing gurus of Nvidia, and they still look like a cheap Instagram filter, which fails to keep the tone of the scene as creative director intended š¤·āāļø
