  2. Its not really about who is pro-Russian because that is debatable and subjective . But both Hungary and Slovakia are considered pro-Russian and they always the ones who argue about additional EU sanctions or who are opposed to them This is about removing any dependency on Russia for energy because then the EU isnt contributing towards its revenue stream and the war in Ukraine But this takes time, you cant just cut energy sources until you have alternative markets and both Hungary and Slovakia do have alternative energy sources but they have ignored investing in them. So now the EU is acting https://www.politico.eu/article/hungary-slovakia-quit-russia-energy-crea-report/ "Hungary and Slovakia show no real signs of decoupling from Russian crude despite the EU legal text stating this was the exemption’s purpose," the researchers conclude. "Hungary increased its Russian crude reliance from 61% pre-invasion to 86% in 2024, and Slovakia remained almost 100% dependent on supply from Moscow.” The assessment comes at a pivotal moment for both countries, with the EU preparing proposals to fully sever all Russian energy links. Hungary and Slovakia have lashed out at the move, insisting it will raise prices for consumers and imperil both countries’ energy access. The study insists the countries' arguments don't hold up. It says both countries can import non-Russian oil from Croatia via the Adria pipeline. And it notes that Hungary's MOL energy company has the capability to refine crude brought in from elsewhere. Meanwhile, an abundance of natural gas from countries like the U.S. and Qatar is available on the Central European market. The continued import of Russian oil and gas into Hungary and Slovakia is not the result of technical or infrastructural constraints," said Martin Vladimirov, director of the Energy and Climate Program at the Center for the Study of Democracy. "It is the product of a deeply entrenched network of intermediaries and offshore trading structures that have enabled Russian companies to maintain their grip on Hungary’s energy sector — and profit handsomely in the process.” Both countries can still import oil because of sanctions exemptions granted in 2022. The carve-outs were meant to give the landlocked nations time to find alternative energy suppliers. But Budapest and Bratislava have instead lobbied for continued access to Russian fuel, while earning hundreds of millions via the loopholes. "

  4. Probably less time than Win7 vs. Win10, but I wouldn't worry about it much for 2-3 years. And even then probably mostly AAA/AA, and/or initially mostly the "we won't support your bug reports" vs. "game absolutely won't run." I mean, look how long it took Steam to make Win7 not work with their client (supposedly, never tried). They all know lots of people refuse to go over for a long time. I've been looking into Linux (for gaming) again and I guess for me it might be something like Mint vs. Bazzite. Linux for everything but gaming, I'm sure I'd have no issues with, outside of maybe my ancient fave and simple image editor might not work. But Linux for gaming - I don't know. I know most things these days work or can be made to work but there's always certain titles that won't, not including MP/anti-cheat dev linux support issues (since I don't MP). So it always feels like I'd have to go back to multiple PC setups, switchboxes and/or extra displays etc again for outlier cases, and I really don't want to. Edit: getting too old for that kind of stuff
  5. Ranger/Beguiler with Veilpiercer is what will gonna satisfy you. Backup weapons: You can start with Kitchen Stove thunderous report. Essence intrupter as second weapon very good.
  6. so support for win10 just ended anyone can guess how long until game dev force player to update to win11

  8. Hey everyone! I'm once again planning yet another Deadfire run, and as usual, I'm coming here to gather your always insightful advice This time, I’d like to side with the Principi and include Serafen in the party. I also want to experiment with a class I’ve barely touched before - like Ranger, for example. Here’s the initial setup plan: As always - PotD upscaled, RTwP, Community Patch. Party composition Eder (Tank): Swashbuckler - probably modded Unbroken/Streetfighter, since I’ve always played him with no subclass. Not sure yet if that fits the team balance, but he’ll be the main tank. Xoti (Support/Caster): Either full Priest or Monk/Priest. I’m hesitating because if Eder goes Streetfighter, having too many melee characters might make it tricky to trigger Flanked consistently. Aloth (Caster/Support): Either pure Wizard or Battlemage - same concern as above regarding melee density. Serafen (Melee/Support): Definitely Witch this time - probably 2handed with Willbreaker. I really want to give that a proper try. For my Watcher I’d like something that: Fits well with this team composition (probably ranged or hybrid auto-attacker), and Makes sense RP-wise for siding with the Principi. I’ve been looking for a build that could mix melee and ranged versatility - maybe something like dual-wield pistol/melee, or even general weapon swapping flexibility (Blackjacket, maybe?). I’m not necessarily after a broken or solo-tier build - just something fun, effective, not boring, and that fits both the party and the RP. Initially, I thought about something like a Fighter/Ranger, but I’m afraid it might feel a bit too simple. I usually play multiclass caster/melee hybrids with lots of options, so I worry a non-caster build could feel a bit flat - although I’ll admit my Devoted/Berserker run with Lord Darryn’s Voulge was a blast ️ A few things I’m looking for: I don’t necessarily want something that requires heavy micromanagement, but I’d like some versatility depending on the encounter (pet management, melee/ranged flexibility, weapon swapping, maybe a bit of spellcasting ?…). I’d love a gameplay style (and gear progression ?) that evolves noticeably as I level up, not one that feels identical from early to late game. Mostly ranged (and ideally Ranger) because I’ve played melee builds so many times, and I’ve never done a proper Ranger run. Anything involving sword & gun or weapon switching has my heart So yeah, I’d love to hear your enlightened ideas to help me shape this run! Thanks in advance, and cheers as always!
  9. I might, once it is discounted. I mean, yeah, as I am the only one here on the forum (I think) wo didn't like Bloodlines, so why not. Can't be any less interesting. I didn't like any of the games Troika made. There's just something about these games that never ever click with me.
  10. Ukraine launched a large barrage today, not sure of damage done. I guess the timing is political though, gotta show for the Americans.
  11. Not true. We do have standards cucumbers and bananas need to adhere to.
  12. I bought a portrait lens by mistake, clicked the wrong thing. I meant to get a wide angle prime and now instead of returning it, I've kind of gone into a rabbit hole of minimalist framing. It's interesting, in a ship in a bottle kind of way. https://imgur.com/Uf9Hc9q Don't you dare stop holding hands, you're not in focus yet. ****, ****ing twerps https://imgur.com/a/8Mqgym8
  13. I'm pretty busy. Maybe in November. 2026
  14. I'll never not be amused by media rewriting history to suit their own narrative. Another of the perpetual 'this time it is different!'s is an extra bonus. Slovakia's government was stridently anti-Russian up until 30 September, 2023. Which is roughly 18 months into the war, and definitively not three years ago as Politico claims. Even the most basic of backgrounding could have found this out, if one didn't already know. But while the previous government was fine with giving away S-300 and MiG-29s they were not all that keen on turning off the spigot gas wise either, since one of the reasons for their collapse was inflation/ cost of living. It is after all not just a matter of having alternative sources like, lol, Azerbaijan* but them not being expensive. It's very easy to claim it's 'just' an extra 10%, when you're an EU bureaucrat with a property portfolio and on 500k a year. And when you pretend that that 10% rise doesn't compound since so much relies on gas. Orban isn't pro Russian. If he were he'd have vetoed stuff, irrevocably. He's entirely transactional- which is probably why Trump seems to love him so much. Blocking sanctions gets his country lots of concessions, no different to how the UK used to operate or how Denmark got concessions to finesse the EU's loss in its referendum. Similarly to the Brits, it really really annoys the federalist executive side of the EU that wants to rule by decree. *always hilarious to see Ursula and pals fanboying over Aliyev, who is everything they accuse Putin of being. As always, if the EU didn't have double standards they wouldn't have standards at all. And, of course, they largely sell rebranded Russian gas. When the EU isn't buying Russian LNG directly and (technically correct!) claiming it isn't gas.
  15. Nothing I've seen about it makes me want to play it. *Maybe* I would check it out if it would be on Xbox Game Pass (no idea if it is), but since I canceled my subscription not too long ago because of the price hike, there is literally no chance of me seeing the game in person anytime soon (or ever).
  16. I’ve looked it up, but I just wanna confirm that I’m not the only one who explored the whole map and beat everything so far but I only have 42 locations discovered, even though it shows that I have everything I don’t understand what’s going on even if I jump off my buggy walk around, but it’s still not registering Am I the only one that it’s that bad?
  17. So I take it, starting the 24th, I'll be all alone in the forum because everyone else is playing this at launch, right?
  18. https://www.politico.eu/article/eu-countries-move-pull-plug-on-russia-gas-hungary-slovakia/ "After three years of reasoning, pleading and conceding, the EU has had enough. On Monday, the bloc’s 27 member countries are expected to back a new bill that will permanently cut Russian gas supplies to Hungary and Slovakia — whether they like it or not. Since Moscow launched its all-out war in Ukraine in 2022, the EU has weakened the Kremlin’s long-held grip over the bloc’s energy supply, all but eliminating its imports of Russian oil, coal and gas." Long overdue, the EU needs to cut all energy dependency from Russia They cant be seen to be financing Russia's war machine as much as reasonably possible
  19. When I went against Axl my music was made absolutely glitched, a total tweak-out. The music was blended together even outside the arena.
  20. This mod might make trying to play Skyrim again worthwhile. Well, for about 30 minutes at least. At any rate, quality mod, I tell ya.
  21. Yes, thats what almost all companies do Its best practice, so why wouldn't you apply a recommended fix or update for your personal office products or your gaming machine Whats the difference? The point Im making is thats one reason why Microsoft needs access to your PC and its for a good reason
  22. There's a difference between Microsoft security fixes and the Windows feature updates. We do that at work too, we're always installing the critical fixes, but the (sometimes semi-)annual feature updates? No thanks. Would be way too complicated to roll out and support. We only install those when the new features or changes are worth the hassle or there's no longer a way to avoid it because it would break something. And that something is in 99.99% of all cases some Microsoft service we need.
  23. I see Australia and the USA have signed several rare minerals deals and the submarine deal is back on https://www.cnbc.com/2025/10/21/sha...itical-minerals-deal-lynas-alcoa-pilbara.html China is to thank for this with there recent stockpiling of critical minerals but its good for Australia mining investments and a lesson to Trump around humility that countries like Australia matter. The USA cannot thrive on its own and its allies that include Western countries matter
  24. OneDrive facial recognition is definitely not a mandatory authentication method and you can opt out I have never come across any MFA with facial recognition from Microsoft that is mandatory, its just one way you use MFA I use about 6-8 different Microsoft services and Im studying M365 so I have a trial M365 cloud tenant with access to every Microsoft cloud service and I access them all with my authenticator app and a password code. I never use facial or fingerprint recognition What you talking about I assume is a feature to access photos on Onedrive? That wont apply to files like .docx or other files https://www.tweaktown.com/news/108204/microsoft-adds-ai-facial-recognition-to-onedrive-can-only-be-disabled-three-times-per-year/index.html And then Microsoft constantly looks for security risks in the OS and Office applications and patches and updates get released every 2-3 months on cycles, if you not connected online or you dont want these security updates then you create a security risk for yourself In this world of ubiquitous hacking, viruses and Ransomware I cannot understand why anyone would want to expose themselves to these risks by not being online and allowing Microsoft patches to be installed?
  25. It's been that way for decades now; there's just more and more layers where systems can break. Companies rely on everything running efficiently most of the time, to counter the infrequent times when it breaks. But, “there are only nine meals between mankind and anarchy” still holds true.
  26. Some idiot at work was whining at me because Confluence was down, the page says there's an issue and gives a link to check status. I'm amazed my coworkers can dress themselves.
