single greatest 80s song?

perhaps.

...

also gets our vote as basis for a new obsidian crpg.  chess rpg set in bangkok, reykjavik, hastings and other locales? each city representing a new challenge just to make it to the tournament with you, an upstart grandmaster and a small group o' loyal accomplices/companions perhaps resorting to dirty tricks to foil your adversaries, or perhaps taking moral high ground and instead need deal with traps set by nefarious and unique opponents.  factions?  sure. brothels? why not? get all the traditional crpg trappings.  heck, final boss could be an actual dragon in disguise whom you face in a life and death chess showdown in bangkok.

am kidding.  mostly.

HA! Good Fun!

Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra

I love happy songs with dark messages

I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"*

Against stupidity we have no defense. Neither protests nor force can touch it. Reasoning is of no use. Facts that contradict personal prejudices can simply be disbelieved - indeed, the fool can counter by criticizing them, and if they are undeniable, they can just be pushed aside as trivial exceptions. So the fool, as distinct from the scoundrel, is completely self-satisfied. In fact, they can easily become dangerous, as it does not take much to make them aggressive. For that reason, greater caution is called for than with a malicious one. Never again will we try to persuade the stupid person with reasons, for it is senseless and dangerous.

Been listening a bit to Peter Cornelius - good vocalist, gifted guitar player (with a grammy nomniation to his name) and the heart of a poet.

An Asian drama I've been watching used her "River" song as a chr. theme which ofc led me to YouTube. Where I ended up liking her more recent single even more. I don't typically like female (pop/diva) voices but she has the tonal range and vocal style I tend to prefer. Really good for bopping to on a walk. Why I haven't I heard of her before, I need to buy some albums ... I really do only "discover" music via games and TV/media anymore.
