Mamoulian War Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 Tbh for me, Tales of series surpased Final Fantasy long time ago, and offer much better entertainment. Not really hard at this point. Final Fantasy is probably the worst JRPG franchise I've played and has been for ages. Edit: After saying that, I could not in good conscience have a pre-order up for Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age. I think I'll see about getting Berseria instead. Hmm TBH, FFXII is not that bad, but they put some changes I do not like in PS4 version compared to original japanese version of Zodiac Job System, which make the game very easy. SadExchange Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Putting more and more hours into Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Have to say it's one of the first games in a long time I've just spent hours upon hours exploring due to the lack of push in any direction, but really enjoying it. I think I've put about 25 hours into it and have found 36 shrines and 21 korok seeds. Knowing there's 120 shrines and 900+ seeds makes me constantly curious around every bend and mountain top. Have put done Grim Dawn for a bit. LOVE the game, but knowing the expansion is coming out sometime makes it a little harder, knowing I'll want to start a new character, but I guess spending hours farming legendaries couldn't hurt........... Also, picked up the Necro pack for D3 on the PS4 and playing through the campaign again. Been a long time since I played through the campaign, but playing on I believe Master difficulty and running through pretty good. Around level 40 just starting the 2nd act seems high, but we'll see. Oh, and Darkest Dungeon, started a new run with some cosmetic mods, including one that makes one of the classes look like Geralt of Witcher, with a couple added features including him using the Quen sign when he dodges an attack. Although I will get pummeled in the future as I progress, I do feel like this is the first time in a run where I have a decent handle on what I'm doing lol 1

Belle Sorciere Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 It's time to admit I have a problem. I have hundreds of games on Steam, GOG, and Origin combined. I haven't played most of them. I need to play at least some of them. Slowly working my way through. 2

Katphood Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 (edited) Dear folks, I just can't seem to shut up about Killzone: Mercenary. The best handheld fps ever made, period. -Top notch graphics, not just for a handheld -Great selection of weapons and gadgets -Awesome gunplay and weapon handling -Missions that you can approach in a variety of ways -Great sound -Brilliant music -A well written, mature story -Superb menu design, presentation and cinematics -replay value Multiplayer is great but I couldn't always find players but on the plus side, all Killzone games allow you to play the MP with bots and Killzone: Mercenary is no exception. PlayStation Vita was an awesome handheld(and it still is, believe me) and Sony basically killed it by cutting off first party support for no good reason. It still gets decent indie games and cross-platform games though(Day of the Tentacle Remastered, Attack on Titan, Dragon Quest Builders etc. ) I hope Sony is secretly working on a PS Vita 2 or something like that. In Japanese Zodiac Job System, each character could pick only one job. In PS4, each character can pick two jobs at once. Investing double Licende Points into License grid, will make the game extremely easy. Keep in mind. Japanese FFXII had already lower difficulty, than original FFXII. Most off the additions to ZJS, were positives, but infortunately, FFXII has kind of not so interesting story compared to previous FF games, so making the game easier, will make it more boring. Tale Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Got Journey for the PS4. Completed it in three hours but it was an experience worth paying for. An excellent example of artistry in gaming. You're not done until you get the white robe. Just saying. FFXII has kind of not so interesting story compared to previous FF games, so making the game easier, will make it more boring. At this point you're just shaming me for getting so close to buying it. I thought the game was terribly boring as heck in the original release as it was. To the point where it's the only main series game that I put down and never even wanted to pick up again. It felt grindy, slow, and just barely interactive in combat thanks to the gambit system. But I keep thinking "no, I must be too harsh. So many people love it, I bet the story is fantastic to make up for the crud gameplay. I should give it a second chance." And then I read your post. 1 "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."

IMO the game does deserve second chance. When I played the game for the first time on PS2, i really loathed it after playing FFX like two months before it. But when I played the game 3 years later, for some reason, and I really cannot explain exactly why, I enjoyed the game much much more. Maybe because I experimented a lot with various gambit settings. Really dunno. The game is closer to MMO, than previous FF games, and that put me off at first. But, Japanese Zodiac Job System veraion was big improvement over original FFXII, although being little bit easier, but your dilemma was, if you should Tales of Berseria or FFXII. And having this decision in front of you. Well no one sane would recommend you to go for FFXII ) I have purchased ToB at release date, so I do not have this dilemma in front of me, and as I said before, I will buy FFXII sooner or later, too. But I will be playing it with my own Houserules, and never invest License points into the second Job, and I would probably recommend you doing the same ) Just wait for a sale, and go enjoy Tales of Berseria first, it's worth it :-P PS: If you never played Tales of Zestiria before, I recommend you to buy it on sale as well. It's not as good game as Berseria, but the two games make the whole story complete, and playing both games is needed for filling some plot holes ) Edited June 29, 2017 by Mamoulian War Sent from my Stone Tablet, using Chisel-a-Talk 2000BC. Tale Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Zesteria doesn't seem to be as well received as Berseria. I was hoping Berseria was a bit more stand alone. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
Mamoulian War Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Well really hard to tell how stand-alone it is. I played both games, and enjoyed both of them, but I have recoginzed tons of things from Zestiria, when played. The end of ToB is not open-ended, so you can play it alone. But if you will like it, I think Zestiria, deserves a chance, even though, as you and internet says, ToB is better game. Sent from my Stone Tablet, using Chisel-a-Talk 2000BC. Mamoulian War Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 And few hours ago, I was able to finish Tales of Berseria. And I was not disappointed All in all It took me almost 138 hours, but I was playing it intentionally on hardest difficulties. Unfortunately, the final bossfight was very hard on these difficulties, so I had to drop to Moderate I do not remember last time, when I played a game for so long, and was still eager to continue forward, doing sidequests didn't feel like a chore, but complemented the main story. And I really loved the main characters, which were different to what we are mostly used in other games. No saving the world cliche this time in the story. It was just an afterthought next to the main quest for revenge of the main heroine. I will probably do now few optional postgame sidequests, but I am already itching to finish my postponed quest for Platinum Trophy in Tales of Xillia 2 (missing last two of the most grindy trophies in game). And probably, I'll launch the free Rebel Galaxy, which I got in last GOG sale 2 Sent from my Stone Tablet, using Chisel-a-Talk 2000BC. Bartimaeus Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 (edited) I finished Broken Age. Good game with a great first half, and with a not-quite-as-good-but-still-good second half, and an ending that was a little disappointing, and which didn't really solve or explain much - if anything. Also, again, thanks to ShadySands for giving it to me! Edited June 29, 2017 by Bartimaeus 1 Quote How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart. In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.
Labadal Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 I gave up on a couple of games. One is Asdivine Hearts. I tried to play it for a good while, but it didn't click. Annoying characters, repetition and grindy. If I'm not mistaken, this is a mobile port. I got it in a bundle a long time ago, and figured that I would try it.
Tale Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 I finished Sweetest Monster. An E(nglish)VN made by the wonderful Ebi-Hime. I'd say she was a big name in the English VN community, but that's not really saying much to be frank. Anyway the commentary has her say that she wrote it to be somewhat fanservicey, but otherwise creepy and the title delivered in spades with only about 2 hours of reading. I also played a few levels of Crash Bandicoot, but I think I need to put that on the backburner and finally plow into Axiom Verge. Raithe Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 Gah. Somehow climbed and jumped over a cliff I guess I wasn't meant to in Far Cry Primal. This led to achieving a story objective prior to getting there in the storyline, and now the storyline breaks so I can't actually finish the game. Hm, and the way it works, the previous save I have was already autoupdated , and hm, the next previous save is 4 hours of gameplay earlier. Joy. Now I have to find the appropriate time to stir up enthusiasm to replay 4 hours to get back there. "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."
