Neither game is accurate though, and the devs never intended them to be. However, the cult in Outlast 2 was based off a real cult while the one in Far Cry 5 was not.

I'm not sure if you're the good or bad guy on this one, I don't think we'll know til the game is out :(

Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? Is it a habit of yours to scurry about, getting in the way and causing bother?

What are you still bothering me for? I'm a Knight. I'm not interested in your childish games. I need my rest.

I'd say it is pretty certain you're the good guy, considering the story details shared so far is "you come to the county to arrest the cult dude but something goes wrong, then you recruit local folks to fight him".

I get the controversy. This game is nowhere near accurate to the sticks in Montana. For a more accurate portrayal, try Outlast 2.

Now I'm picturing a weird lovechild between FarCry and Outlast, I gotta say that i'm digging the idea of an open world horror shooter that has nothing to do with zombies.

I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"*

Not really believable that you would be driving around liberating outposts though.  Or maybe they will just be a problem with the cell towers so you can't call the FBI and have the tables turned the next day, all of them, conveniently, and it all turns into The Seven Samurai. A solar storm or something, the cities are rioting, that could work.

Na na  na na  na na  ...

greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER.

That is all.

Us Gamers have had to endure a lot of crap over the last few years ... the continued rejection of romantic partners when they find out our hobby

...

I would normally have words about that petition, but y'know what, let them have their fun.

I'm betting there will be a way to beat the game in 15 minutes like in Far Cry 4.

I would love a horror element, even though the first one was by Crytek, it had those creepy mutant things and dark environments so it's pretty much un the dna anyway.

Can't wait to see Francis do a YouTube video on the petition lol

“Political philosophers have often pointed out that in wartime, the citizen, the male citizen at least, loses one of his most basic rights, his right to life; and this has been true ever since the French Revolution and the invention of conscription, now an almost universally accepted principle. But these same philosophers have rarely noted that the citizen in question simultaneously loses another right, one just as basic and perhaps even more vital for his conception of himself as a civilized human being: the right not to kill.”

"The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. He was obsolete. But so is the State, the entity he worshipped. Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody. When it is naked, yet puts on armor and calls it faith, while in the Eyes of God it has no faith at all. Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man...that state is obsolete."

The launch date for Pyre, Supergiant's (Bastion, Transistor) new game, is set for July 25th (Windows, Linux, PS4).  They haven't put out a new trailer so here is the old reveal trailer as a refresher:

The art style, as expected from Supergiant, is great, but what really draws me to the game is the concept of battles being played out as a sort of sport.  It's a very interesting idea.

Anyhoo, if it reviews well, this is setting up to be my next gaming purchase (I have plenty of stuff to keep me busy for a couple months).  :dancing:

Supergiant have released two games thus far and both were excellent - and both of their soundtracks prominently reside on all of my generic playlists. I really am looking forward to this release. And the soundtrack.

Me too. Their 8 hour games have more depth than a 40 hour game. Love their art style and unique sense of stories. I'm looking forward to Pyre, will definitely pre-purchase.

More info on Bannerlord - http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1377363

Living villages. In Warband, there were usually only two exciting NPCs in each village: an old sage as a quest-giver - and a nervous man who would turn out to be a criminal. Bannerlord extends the massive. Now there are even submarines in the cities such as gangsters, traders' guilds, farmers and so on. And lots of quests to make the one faction happy and the other angry. At least the developers promise.

That is at least one nice touch, wonder what was mistranslated as 'submarines'

probably sub factions? :/

I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"

There's actual submarines roaming the more water-based cities.
