Osvir
Foreword: I've been wishing that you could scribe spells into Staves and Wands for a while, even Tattoo's and being to cast Unarmed without a Grimoire (Hand tattoos?). Some of these Wizard combinations would be able create some pretty awesome gimmicks if there'd be more types of casting ranged auto-attack magic.Barbarian/Wizard for instance, is it fitting to have a Barbarian hold a Grimoire? Or wouldn't you think they'd have developed techniques to scribe spells onto staff's or wands, or maybe even bodies? A Barbarian completely tattooed. For example: A Grimoire can hold 20 spells, a Wand maybe 5 spells, a Staff 10 spells and "Body" 15 spells. Making this post made me start wonder if "Multiclassing" is a sort of equivalent to "Alignments" (Chaotic Evil, Lawful Neutral etc.) as well.Here's an even more extensive template, you can switch out the titles names, the dashes are "features" or description. Definitions for all "Power Sources" here, e.g. "Rage", "Spirits", "Psionics"...Example:BerserkerBarbarian+Chanter (Rage+Spirits)- Screams in rage, shouts and yells, physically strong- Summons deep seated emotions to get enraged, spirits of the pastThose with an Asterix * are confirmed BerserkerBarbarian+Chanter (Rage+Spirits) --MadmanBarbarian+Cipher (Rage+Psionics)--WerekindBarbarian+Druid (Rage+Nature)-- Brute*Barbarian+Fighter (Rage+Discipline)-- Brawler* Barbarian+Monk (Rage+Motification)-- Colossus/Royal GuardBarbarian+Paladin (Rage+Zeal)-- ChiefBarbarian+Priest (Rage+Faith)-- WildlingBarbarian+Ranger (Rage+Bond)-- BanditBarbarian+Rogue (Rage+Guile)-- Shaman*Barbarian+Wizard (Rage+Arcane)-- MindsingerChanter+Cipher (Spirits+Psionics)-- VagabondChanter+Druid (Spirits+Nature)-- TroubadourChanter+Fighter (Spirits+Discipline)-- VocalistChanter+Monk (Spirits+Mortification)-- LeaderChanter+Paladin (Spirits+Zeal)-- ApostleChanter+Priest (Spirits+Faith) --NecromancerChanter+Ranger (Spirits+Bond)-- MysticChanter+Rogue (Spirits+Guile)-- SpellsingerChanter+Wizard (Spirits+Arcane)-- AnimalistCipher+Druid (Psionics+Nature) -- TelekineticCipher+Fighter (Psionics+Discipline)-- PsionCipher+Monk (Psionics+Malification)-- TelepathCipher+Paladin (Psionics+Zeal)-- Voodoo DoctorCipher+Priest (Psionics+Faith)-- Mind ControllerCipher+Ranger (Psionics+Bond)-- ShadowCipher+Rogue (Psionics+Guile)-- IllusionistCipher+Wizard (Psionics+Arcane)-- GuardianDruid+Fighter (Nature+Discipline)-- CrusherDruid+Monk (Nature+Mortification)-- Liberator*Druid+Paladin (Nature+Zeal)-- HealerDruid+Priest (Nature+Faith)-- HermitDruid+Ranger (Nature+Bond) -- BeastmanDruid+Rogue (Nature+Guile)-- ElementalistDruid+Wizard (Nature+Arcane)-- PugilistFighter+Monk (Discipline+Malification)-- TemplarFighter+Paladin (Discipline+Zeal) -- LordFighter+Priest (Discipline+Faith)-- HoundmasterFighter+Ranger (Discipline+Bond) -- DuelistFighter+Rogue (Discipline+Guile)-- Battlemage*Fighter+Wizard (Discipline+Arcane)-- Fallen PaladinMonk+Paladin (Mortification+Zeal)-- FlagellantMonk+Priest (Mortification+Faith)-- AscendedMonk+Ranger (Mortification+Bond) -- AssassinMonk+Rogue (Mortification+Guile) -- SpellbladeMonk+Wizard (Mortification+Arcane) -- Bishop Paladin+Priest (Zeal+Faith) -- Dragon KnightPaladin+Ranger (Zeal+Bond)-- Mercenary Paladin+Rogue (Zeal+Guile) -- HeadmasterPaladin+Wizard (Zeal+Arcane)-- EnlightenedPriest+Ranger (Faith+Bond)-- Shadow PriestPriest+Rogue (Faith+Guile)-- SorcerorPriest+Wizard (Faith+Arcane)-- Hunter/HuntsmanRanger+Rogue (Bond+Guile) -- MythicRanger+Wizard (Bond+Arcane)-- Shadow MageRogue+Wizard (Guile+Arcane) -- Edited February 4, 2017 by Osvir

soralink411
So I came up with a bunch of ideas for what the multiclasses will be, let me know what you guys think of this! The names with question marks by them are the ones I either didn’t really like, couldn’t think of anything else, don’t think it fits, or think it has very little chance of being the right name. I took a lot of the names from other RPGs, and from names from lore or history. Let me know what you guys think the names will be! Paladin+Rogue= Holy Assassin?/ Templar Assassin?/Inquisitor?(Prefer inquisitor in its other spot) Paladin+Chanter=Paragon Paladin+Fighter=Crusader/Knight/Guardian Paladin+Ranger= Cathar/Cavalier Paladin+Wizard=Spellsword Paladin+Priest= Cleric/Healer Paladin+Monk=Sentinel Paladin+Barbarian= Jaguars?/Eagles? (like the Aztec Holy warriors, not sure if it will fit in the lore of Pillars) Paladin+Cipher= Blackguard Rogue+Ranger= Hunter/Scavenger Rogue+Chanter= Bard Rogue+Druid= Woodsman? Rogue+Fighter= Duelist/Cavalier Rogue+Wizard= Illusionist Rogue+Priest= Inquisitor Rogue+Monk= Daredevil Rogue+Cipher= Assassin/Lurk/Shadowblade/Hexer Rogue+Barbarian= Gladiator Fighter+Chanter= Bladesinger Fighter+Druid= Valkyrie Fighter+Monk= Martialist Fighter+Barbarian= Berserker Fighter+Ranger= Marksman? Fighter+Cipher= Psyblade Fighter+Priest= Templar Ranger+Druid= Beastmaster/Beastlord Ranger+Cipher= Communer?/Clairvoyant Ranger+Priest= Adept?/healer/Medic Ranger+Monk= Medicine Man/Naturalist Ranger+Chanter= Beastsinger?/Tamer? Ranger+barbarian= Tribesman? Ranger+Wizard= Wayfarer Monk+Priest= Missionary Monk+Chanter= Consular Monk+Wizard= Sorcerer?/Adept? Monk+Druid= Acolyte Monk+barbarian= Battlerager Monk+Cipher= Delver Chanter+barbarian= Minstrel Chanter+wizard= Enchanter? Chanter+druid= Naturesinger?/Soothsayer Chanter+Priest= Apostle Chanter+Cipher= Reader/Psychic/Soothsayer/Dominator Druid+Wizard= Elementalist Druid+Priest= Mystic Druid+barbarian= Vandal? Druid+Cipher= Oracle Priest+barbarian= Dervish Preist+Cipher+Heretic=Witch Wizard+Priest= Mender Wizard+Cipher= Warlock/Witch
blotter
I didn't expect to come up with this many Barbarian multis given that I've never played or even considered playing as one, but here they are along with a few other class combinations: Barbarian/Chanter - Howler Barbarian/Druid - Atavus, Skinwalker Barbarian/Fighter - Hordebreaker Barbarian/Paladin - Warlord Barbarian/Ranger - Alpha Barbarian/Rogue - Marauder Barbarian/Wizard - Destroyer Chanter/Priest - Liturgist (I think Hierophant's actually a better fit for this combination where the etymology of the term is concerned - showing/revealing what is holy seems a close match for the concept of a priest who also brings stories to life, after all - but I've already seen it here in various capacities) Cipher/Monk - Transcendentalist Cipher/Priest - Gnostic, Mystic Cipher/Rogue - Scourge Fighter/Paladin - Vanguard Fighter/Rogue - Cutthroat, Slayer Monk/Wizard - Blood Mage Paladin/Priest - Paragon Paladin/Rogue - Avenger Priest/Wizard - Ritualist, Sage Ranger/Rogue - Prowler Edited February 5, 2017 by blotter

Looks like Obsidian is not going to make is easy by copying Pathfinder. Not that i'm complaining, it's going to be more fun that way. Cipher+Priest = Inquisitor Vancian =/= per rest. grumpymoose
This thread could be a while since there are 55 combinations and only three are known. I went through and made a list, here are my favorites so far: Cipher Cipher + Paladin = Inquisitor Cipher + Priest = Oracle Cipher + Rogue = Illusionist Cipher + Ranger = Mind Hunter (Lore Reference!) Cipher + Wizard = Animancer, I read Inquisitor as Inquirer and was briefly excited beyond all reason before coming down from such happy heights. On the note of animancer, does it make much sense given animancy is an actual thing of its own? Animancers and animancy are quite well explained, they aren't simply a combination of Cipher or Wizard. Indeed you could be, in theory, an animancer in addition to one, the other, both or neither, or at least that's the impressions Pillars itself left me with. Correct if wrong. I often am. “I cannot forget the follies and vices of others so soon as I ought, nor their offenses against myself. My feelings are not puffed about with every attempt to move them. My temper would perhaps be called resentful. My good opinion once lost is lost forever.” - Pride and Prejudice
Casper
just a few of mine... possibly stated by others. Barbarian + Ranger = Warden Rogue + Wizard = Shade Chanter + Paladin = Seraph Fighter + Paladin = Crusader Priest + Paladin = Templar Cipher + Ranger = Seeker Rogue + Fighter = Marauder Yesterday, upon the stair, I met a man who wasn't there. Boeroer
For me, a rogue+fighter is more like a duelist or swashbuckler. Barb+rogue sounds more like marauder. BrettNLowe
Here was my crack at making all of them. Rather difficult in some places and I'm not happy with all of them. Overall my intention was to choose relatively simple titles rather than badass sounding ones, to match the original titles of the classes. After all, the idea is that these are new options, not upgrades - you shouldn't be drawn to them because they have cooler names. I also tried to pull from popular media where it made sense. I originally did this on a spreadsheet so as not to make a huge list, but I don't think we can make tables here? B/Ch - Skald B/Ci - Reaver B/D - Shaman (these always seemed more nature-y than a B/W would be) B/F - Gladiator B/M - Berzerker (hard to think of a disciplined Barbarian, so went more with the power-from-wounds bit) B/Pa - Zealot B/Pr - Fanatic B/Ra - Raider B/Ro - Marauder B/W - Auger Ch/Ci - Silvertongue Ch/D - Summoner Ch/F - Warlord Ch/M - Lector Ch/Pa - Herald Ch/Pr - Cantor Ch/Ra - Troubador Ch/Ro - Bard Ch/W - Spellsinger Cipher in general was the hardest to combine, I think. Sometimes I went with their untrusted aspect, sometimes their mental. Ci/D - Warlock Ci/F - Hexblade Ci/M - Enigma Ci/Pa - Purifier Ci/Pr - Prophet or Confessor Ci/Ra - Clairvoyant Ci/Ro - Shadow Ci/W - Enchanter or Sorceror D/F - Warden D/M - Hermit (this has more of a nature connotation than Ascetic) D/Pa - Green Knight D/Pr - Sage D/Ra - Beastmaster D/Ro - Wildstalker or just Stalker D/W - Witch or Sorceror F/M - Sentinel F/Pa - Champion F/Pr - Crusader F/Ra - Wayfarer or Wanderer F/Ro - Duelist F/W - Battlemage M/Pa - Oathkeeper M/Pr - Martyr M/Ra - Zen Archer M/Ro - Assassin M/W - Mystic Pa/Pr - Seraph Pa/Ra - Pathfinder Pa/Ro - Witch Hunter Pa/W - Eldritch Knight (I know this is typically tied to fighters in D&D, but Paladins are the more knightly types in PoE) Pr/Ra - Circuit Rider (my preferred BY FAR) or Missionary Pr/Ro - Inquisitor Pr/W - Thaumaturge I found Ranger combos difficult as well because they don't have a lot of unique flavor of their own. Druids take most of the nature aspect, so all they are left with is marksman (which isn't actually a definite of the class) and traveling around . . . with a pet. Ra/Ro - Vagabond Ra/W - Arcane Archer (needs a better name, but this is tradition) Ro/W - Arcane Trickster (see above)
Casper
we each have our own opinions, that's what make things interesting. anyway, i simply feel marauder fits the rogue/fighter class better. (and i'm using marauder in the sense of irregular combat forces who's purpose is raiding behind enemy lines to create chaos & confusion). in that context i think it works better, but that 's just me. Ebbenstein
Haven't gone through every class combo, but I was thinking of some class titles on a drive home the other day. Rogue/Ranger = Stalker Wizard/Cipher = Warlock Wizard/Priest = Necromancer Fighter/Rogue = Duelist Priest/Paladin = Zealot(?) I will go through the entire list another time. It's quite fun to make come up with these. Perhaps naming our class could be a feature?

tid242
This thread could be a while since there are 55 combinations and only three are known. I went through and made a list, here are my favorites so far: Barbarian Barbarian + Chanter = Skald, Barbarian + Druid = Beastmaster, Barbarian + Paladin = Zealot, Barbarian + Priest = One Eye, Auger, Ravenpriest Chanter Chanter + Cipher = Mindsinger Chanter + Druid = Valar, Chanter + Rogue = Bard, Chanter + Paladin = Standard Bearer Chanter + Priest = Hymnist Chanter + Wizard = Namer, Cipher Cipher + Paladin = Inquisitor Cipher + Priest = Oracle Cipher + Rogue = Illusionist Cipher + Ranger = Mind Hunter (Lore Reference!) Cipher + Wizard = Animancer, Druid Druid + Priest = Hermit Druid + Ranger = Stalker Druid + Rogue = Predator Druid + Wizard = Wildmage Fighter Fighter + Monk = Brawler (Khelgar!) Fighter + Paladin = Templar Fighter + Priest = Knight Fighter + Ranger = Woodsman Fighter + Rogue = Thug Monk Monk + Paladin = Divine Fist, Martyr Monk + Priest = Mendicant, Flagellator, Stigmatist, Monk + Rogue = Shadowdancer Monk + Wizard = Scholar Paladin Paladin + Priest = Bishop, Paladin + Ranger = Hereward, Wild Hunt Paladin + Wizard = Arcane Knight Priest Priest + Ranger = Friar Priest + Rogue = Snake Handler / Holy Roller Priest + Wizard = Philosopher, Alchemist Ranger Ranger + Rogue = Poacher, Scout I like a lot of these. PoE2's idea is all is very similar to the schema used in 'Titan Quest' (which was a great game, btw), whereby players chose 2 classes that created a corresponding combination class and name. http://titanquest.wikia.com/wiki/Character_Classes A lot of TQ's classes were more elementalist tho in nature, as opposed to classes in the DnD lineage sense of the term, but a lot of their names were very good. Assassins were the best classes, but I digress... Some of these class combinations were explored in DnD supplementary material over the years, such as Fighter + Rogue = Swashbuckler, for instance. While a lot of excellent names ended up having fairly specific DnD class associations that would be difficult to shake - Fatespinner, Shadowdancer, Loremaster, etc. One of the interesting possibilities is also that the subclassing that they've talked about would have specific names themselves. So, for instance, Fighters would be just "fighter" or might be 'defender' or 'assaulter' (or whatever) if one choose the 'defense' or 'offense' sub-specialization (for example). Thus it wouldn't just be Fighter + Rogue = Swashbuckler, but rather Defender + Rogue = Tumbler, and Assaulter + Rogue = Assassin, also. And again for the Rogue subclasses.. Also, I like adding an additional term for Priests indicating their diety. So, for instance if Monk + Priest = Praetor, then a Monk + Priest of Skaen = Ebon Praetor. (Magic card reference, yes). good start to a list though. Could definitely use a couple of tweaks, but you definitely put some time into it. cheers, -tid242
