Fenixp Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Yeah, even at 15, we did have at least basic critical thinking. I suppose it could also be caused by mainstream gaming media at the time being a wee bit more honest - reading "It looks cool, but it could also be full of ****" certainly helped us see matters a bit more objectively as opposed to "15 reasons why No Man's Sky will be the bestest game evah" The sad thing is that with NMS, it wasn't just inexperienced kids swept up in the hype.
Katphood Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 I still haven't played NMS but the last two updates have made the game look a whole lot more interesting compared to how it looked/played at launch. I'll give it a try if it hits the sales or something like that. There used to be a signature here, a really cool one...and now it's gone.

Oh yeah, you are right, when I was a kid, the magazines were more honest when reviewing the games and if a game got mark above 8/10, you could be sure, it was the next best thing since invention of sliced bread :-/ Now they give out 8/10 to games like candies. Says a lot how they depend on ads from these companies and their objectivity... Sent from my Stone Tablet, using Chisel-a-Talk 2000BC. Keyrock Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 (edited) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xl4bkIGgiyc don't know what to make of this. doesn't look like the first game at all I imagine that most of the game won't be like this, just the fortress sieges, which will be the culmination of doing quests and stuff in a particular region in order to gather intel and weaken defenses. Probably most of the game will be similar to the previous game, doing standard open world type stuff. It would be cool if you could choose to bring one of your followers along on quests and exploration so that you can have adventures and forge friendships with your orc buddies. Oh man, now I want a Middle Earth themed ranger and orc buddy cop movie! Edited March 9, 2017 by Keyrock 1 RFK Jr 2024 "Any organization created out of fear must create fear to survive." - Bill Hicks

213374U Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 (edited) MOAR ME:A hype So it looks like scanning for minerals is back, but instead of doing it from orbit, you do it from the Mako. I'm really not a fan of adopting the gamey rarity tiers from the ME3MP in Single Player. I just hope that doesn't mean the SP is a microtransaction ridden crapfest, but... it's EA. the_dog_days Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 I don't like the pitch of the new ship's engine. Since its mostly on space and there's no sound anyway, I'd like it to have a throatier, deeper roar.

ShadySands Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 (edited) Well, they're still calling Mass Effect a RPG while going out of their way to say the new game is not so there's that Some rumormongers were speculating it's a Destiny/Division type game but who knows if there's even anything to that Edited March 10, 2017 by ShadySands Free games updated 3/4/21
