s13ep Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Can a homosexual, become heterosexual? I think it's possible. I assert homosexuality is not genetic, but mental; that homosexuality, is an abstraction of 'human competitive nature'. Boys will be boys... "There is a woman, long lost, in every homosexual man's imagination". 'Human competitive nature' spans from small-scale to large-scale; for example, simple games, and then, war... The abstraction of, this nature, can be abstruse. The long lost woman of the homosexual man's imagination, is hard to keep track of. A homosexual man may find comfort in pure-homosexuality (where there is no alternative); he may endure a life, and sexual life, without woman. Further on 'human competitive nature' and how it links to homosexuality... Life is largely about love, and humans will compete for love... Sometimes a lifestyle, is preferred, over choice of partner. If your desired lifestyle is deemed out of reach, you will opt for an alternative. Sometimes, we prefer choice of partner. Competition surrounding lifestyle, and choice of partner, is often harsh; and good competition is scarce, these days... Restrictions on lifestyle, or choice of partner (law, social systems, etc) have a great effect on a man's mind. To conclude, it's okay to be gay but, why, if you can have a woman? Thanks... TO CON: His argument: A (pure-)homosexual cannot force an erection for a female! My argument: "I beg to differ". 1. A (pure-)homosexual cannot force an erection for a female! 2. cannot force an erection for a female! 3. A human cannot be attracted to that which it doesn't feel attraction for. In theory, an erection is, a step ahead. You can't, force, an erection to come naturally, for what you're not attracted to, but carefully, you may, metaphorically, tune it. Con, thinks, but cannot confirm, that a purely homosexual male cannot become heterosexual. I disagree... A purely homosexual man, wants, male on male sexual intercourse, or a, type of, life, with a male; want, is determined by what's available! Scenario: What's available is a bunch of males and a bunch of females; and you don't want the females; you want the males. Want, is a choice, between one or the other - the females are definitely an option. You're not attracted to females, in the same way as you're not attracted to eating a certain food; either because of nature, or nurture. I argue, homosexuality is nurture, and refer Con to the original post to contest what I've said instead of inanely voicing an opinion that's relevance to victory of this argument is nil (I almost fell asleep). Gorth Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 i have studied homosexuality Didn't know you could get a degree in that... Me, I don't put much weight on formality, I just ask my gay friends (or a couple of family members) If I'm curious about something related to the subject. No better way to get straight (pun unintended) answers. 2 “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. Serrano Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 I don't think he's saying he's got a degree in it so much as he's watched a lot of porn. This is Bruce remember. I think there must have been cases where gay men have become heterosexual, I've known a woman who became a lesbian and swore off penises (As far as I know nothing traumatic happened to her so please don't go there) Apparently everyone is at least a little bisexual though, even if they aren't aware of it. 3

Correct Of course I dont have a degree, I mean I have asked questions to my gay friends, observed behavior and understood what strife and discrimination members of the LGBT community go through globally "Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is and saw Virtue in her shape how lovely: and pined his loss” John Milton "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” - George Bernard Shaw "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. Blarghagh Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 The core fallacy is the distinction between mental and genetic where there is none. 1
Drowsy Emperor Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 There have been cases of that happening. Of course its possible. И погибе Српски кнез Лазаре,И његова сва изгибе војска, Седамдесет и седам иљада;Све је свето и честито билоИ миломе Богу приступачно.
BruceVC Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 There have been cases of that happening. Of course its possible. Links? Blarghagh Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Why? I don't see why you would oppose the idea that it's common enough that you demand proof. Sexuality is well known to be a scale. Just google Kinsey. Some bisexuals may think they're entirely homosexual for a long time until they suddenly fall for the opposite sex. I knew a lifelong lesbian girl who suddenly married a man, not because she suddenly wasn't attracted to women anymore but because she was more attracted to him. You act like if it happens it suddenly removes value from "real" homosexuals or something. It doesn't.

No you misunderstand me, a women can be gay and then get into straight relationships ore get married to a man and never be lesbian again. Its different for women as often the gay relationship is a mental one or emotional one while with most gay men the physical attraction to men and the physical relationship is what matters, its not a mental relationship I have never seen gay men suddenly become really straight so again provide links if you want to convince me "Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is and saw Virtue in her shape how lovely: and pined his loss” John Milton "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” - George Bernard Shaw "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. Blarghagh Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 (edited) It takes a shallow man to think with men it's all physical. That's simply not true. It plays a larger role, but having a physical relationship does not equate to attraction. Historically gay men (and everyone else for that matter) have been perfectly capable having physical relationships with people they're not attracted to at all, people they really don't want to be with and don't have a romantic feelings for. And let's not forget that women are perfectly capable of sleeping with someone just because they're hot. Your premise is dumb enough to dismiss out of hand, but if you're so obsessed with links here's one you can get some basic education on sexuality from:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinsey_scale The study also reported that 10% of American males surveyed were "more or less exclusively homosexual for at least three years between the ages of 16 and 55" (in the 5 to 6 range). [...] 4% of the total sample [...] picked a score of six, meaning a totally homosexual identity. Emphasis mine. Edited December 20, 2016 by TrueNeutral 2

You act like if it happens it suddenly removes value from "real" homosexuals or something. It doesn't. Maybe I'm misreading this, but I'd be wary of making a correlation between a heterosexual or homosexual person discovering they were bisexual and proof that heterosexuality or homosexuality could be 'cured'. I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man
Chilloutman Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Why would anyone want to 'turn' gay man hetero is beyond me, its win win for all of us (but there is still not enough of gay man, ladies are still avoiding me too much lately, probably still too much competition there ) 2 I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future.
