The US Election 2016, Part VIII

Leaking an actual planned cyberstrike certainly would be pretty stupid, especially if you've been playing up such things being acts of war. In this case leaking it was probably most of the point and it's just a warning/ tough talk though.

I'd rather suspect that Russia could do a lot more damage to the US with cyber warfare than vice versa, a lot of russian stuff isn't even integrated into the internet and as ex KGB Putin is pretty retentive about not sticking stuff onto computers for the sake of it.

Well, not like they haven't had sanctions on them for a year or more, can't see this ruining much. Is just posturing BS, I think.

Two and a half years. I've been keeping count, thanks to Gromnir just starting a conversation about how sanctions would bankrupt Russia in 6-12 months. It's just one of those things which is always 6-12 months away, I guess.

Absolutely disgusting.

This is why Hillary Clinton is as unelectable as Trump. Like seriously wtf I'm sure the man has enough controversy around him without the need for fake scandals. The constant lying, deceit and control of the media however...? Makes it very difficult to believe anything positive about her, and now here I am catching myself in a position where I must now and forever second-guess if Trump really is that bad whenever new info comes to light.

I don't care what anyone says, this is incompetence. They'd be better off having not done crap like this. All they've done is needlessly tanked their credibility for Trump scandal #247.

You... do realize this is clearly not intended to look like an authentic job posting, right? The "fake universities" line alone would sink any such reading.

Remember the guy in the red shirt asking a neutral question in the second debate and got a short internet fame?

>As Mr. Bone conducted his Ask Me Anything session on Reddit, reporters at Gizmodo — a site literally hours ahead of anyone else in revealing the supposed badness of Mr. Bone — and their counterparts at The Daily Dot and The Daily Beast soon ferreted out Mr. Bone’s past Reddit history, finding tidbits that were sure to provoke somebody.

>It seems Mr. Bone had engaged in a discussion of his sex life after having undergone a vasectomy. Using the pseudonym StanGibson18, he had revealed that he enjoyed viewing the nude photos of the actress Jennifer Lawrence (that were, for the record, posted online without her consent). He also commented on pictures of scantily clad women on the Bodyperfection and RealGirls subreddits.

>“Beautiful human submarines,” he wrote on a post about pregnant women in an 18-and-over subreddit called PreggoPorn.

>Before anyone knew his real name, he had decided to tell Reddit about the most illegal thing he said he’s ever done, by claiming that he had once forged car insurance documents to keep his job as a pizza delivery driver.

>And four months ago, Mr. Bone summed up the 2012 shooting of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman as a “justified” episode: “Bad guy legally kills kid in self defense. Sucks for everybody,” he wrote, before blaming the news media.

>Under this Reddit account, Mr. Bone was a semiregular commenter, with about 150 comments made over the course of the year, not including the flurry of posts he made during his A.M.A. He posted about gun control and his job as an operator at a coal plant in Illinois. He voiced support for President Obama but said that he himself was “a pretty conservative guy.”

>What else? He enjoys video games, is O.K. with calling himself “fat and bald,” and once offered words of comfort to a survivor of rape.

You understand the background ?

Most media networks completely exaggerated how normal and well meaning his one question was. Its like we are all desperate for role models ....he was extensively on CNN and everyone said how great he was

But its obvious he has many controversial views and is insensitive about certain events that shook US society

  • Bad guy legally kills kid in self defense. Sucks for everybody,” he wrote, before blaming the news media.
  • hat were, for the record, posted online without her consent

Okay to be honest  ...maybe he isnt that bad ? Your post made me go back and read what I found that I thought was so bad....I couldnt find anything  serious so well done for correcting me :) I take back the Trog comment

Its not right to say things about someone if he isnt that bad...the only excuse I have is I was stoned earlier when I read it first  :x

It's all good, read the thing and it seemed very un-Bruce like of ya lmao if that makes any sense.

I have no idea what his question was, the only time I saw him was some meme that was him asking something perverted like of something that Trump did and asking bc a friend wanted to know lol. Can't find it to save the life of me

He asked an okay question about energy, I watched the whole thing

But you right again, I was being unfair to him :)

I loved the whole Ken Bone story, it was a nice distraction from the terrible election.  It's sad that we live in a world where as soon as someone gets a little bit of positive attention, others look to tear that person down.  I suppose it is a good lesson to be careful with social media.  I mean none of the stuff they dredged up on him is actually all that wild, but I doubt any of us want every post we've ever made combed through with a fine tooth comb.

Now CNN and Fox News are reporting about him, has the media starting to suffer from mass hysteria? This is completely ridiculous.

Noticed that too, but the issue is...what are you proposing this actually is? Read the full context of the email and then ask what it could be, if not fake slander being prepped. Maybe I'm not a creative thinker or the obvious answer somehow alludes me, but I don't see alternative explanations that make more sense. I like Occam's Razor, and so far Occam's Razor says yes it's a fake scandal lobbed at Trump, but DNC workers were so arrogant they went over the top with it.

I actually try to view both info on Trump and Clinton with a devil's advocate approach since it's useful for pegging which stories will actually have large political impact and which ones won't. I think lines like that may be enough to convince people there's nothing to see there with that email, but when I ask myself what it could be if not a fake scandal, I've no clue.

Has more morals than Hillary who instead laughs at rape victims. LMAO Not surprising that Bruce, the 'feminist' SJW Nazi himself, prefers the woman who   blames victims for the crime perpetrated against them.

lordy. this old chestnut.  we observed a couple experts predicted currency collapse in russia in 6-12 months if nothing changed.  'course russia went desperate with their interest rate adjustments and staved off currency collapse, but collapse mighta' been the less long-term damaging result as 'posed to what has happened to the russian economy the last two years.  anybody wanna actual review state o' the russian economy as it stands today compared to a couple years ago?  and heck, given how little russia has actual done to improve their situation since the double-whammy o' sanctions Plus oil price collapse a few years ago, they now gets to enjoy the prospect o' years o' economic stagnation following +18 months o' actual recession.

what actual happened were zor suggesting that the hundreds of billions in foreign currency assets russia possessed would allow them to laugh at the currency crisis, and that russian retributive food sanctions wouldn't hurt russians. were also some nice hypothesizing 'bout food alternatives from china and brazil.  used bloomberg graphic 'bout relative currency strengths he complete misread, seeing as how russian currency were hit far worse than other oil dependent nations during a similar period o' time.

*shakes head sadly*

until russia makes a serious commitment to alter their economy, which is far too dependent on oil exports, it will continue to be highly vulnerable to sanctions and to the predictably volatile nature o' oil (or any single resource) as the alpha and omega o' russian economic growth. and yeah, the poor is gonna suffer the most when a nation imposes food sanctions on a people... and the ranks o' the russian poor has grown alarmingly in the past couple years.

to respond to malcador's actual observation, doesn't take much mental gymnastics to explain the recent russian "posturing" simply as a way for putin to distract the russian people from just how terrible is their economic situation. if the russian people weren't so angry at vile westerners, they would no doubt focus their attentions on more mundane issues... such as being able to actual pay for food.  am doubting distraction is the only reason for seeming russian "posturing" but am not doubting it is a factor.

HA! Good Fun!

@ Zora

Gromnir is right, Russia had $400 billion of foreign reserve and they have been using it to  survive and pay bills but my prediction is this will be depleted end of 2017

But there real issue is Putin failed to diversify the Russian economy. And now its too late as who would seriously invest in Russia now ?

So unless the oil price gets back to $100 I see no hope for  them to address the economic recession they in

I think it's more of the media now spinning him as a "bad" person. So far if I didn't actually read the quote before hand, a lot of media bashing I'm reading is twisting that statement around to make it seem like he was backing Zimmerman when all he said was that by the law he was justified which was true but that the situation was flawed and Zimmerman even though legally had the right to what he did, doesn't mean he SHOULD have. He laid the blame on Zimmerman, the law, and of course the media because the media did play a HUGE part in the blowup.

Also they labeling him as a pervert because he talked about sex after he had a vecsextamy and that he admitted to looking a nude photos....OW LORDY LORDY how ****ing awful is he....

Another fine sad example on how ****ed up our media is.

It's in the stupid article. How much more citation do you need? Supposedly, he looked at the Jennifer Lawrence (illegal) nudes and liked what he saw.

Mesh's creative use of selective quoting aside, the article's tone is overall far from condemnatory. It's definitely not labeling him a pervert, and doesn't really justify the complaints about "how ****ed up our media is". Hence the need for citation.
