Okay, this one amused me (Once you get past the attempted poetic descriptions), but apparently true love has been found on the Australian version of The Bachelor. It just happens to have been two of the girls on the show to date said bachelor fell in love with each other.

Finally someone found love on The Bachelor

For the Babylon 5 fans out there,

The death of Jerry Doyle on July 27, 2016 shocked and saddened Babylon 5 fandom. Five weeks later, on August 31, the Coroner's Office confirmed that Jerry Doyle died from natural causes with complications from chronic alcoholism.

To give fans the opportunity to honor Jerry Doyle and do some good, we are offering the "Garibaldi Holocrystal," with a portion of the proceeds being donated to Claudia Christian's C Three Foundation.

ABOUT CLAUDIA CHRISTIAN'S C THREE FOUNDATION
A GuideStar-awarded non-profit, the C Three Foundation was created in 2013 by Claudia to educate doctors, alcoholics and their loved-ones about The Sinclair Method, the most successful long term treatment for alcoholism.

The Garibaldi Holocrystal is a unique, two-sided frame designed to display any two of ten different Garibaldi quote/image cards designed to reflect the many facets of the character and the actor who played him.

Garibaldi-Holocrystal-Frame.jpgABOUT THE FRAME

  • 5" by 7" and 1" thick
  • Composed of two thick panels of clear, solid acrylic, with an elegant glass-like look and feel
  • Contemporary design
  • The 4" by 6" quote/image cards appear to "float" in the 5" by 7" frame, which seems to disappear
  • Held together by magnets, so no hardware or tools required; just twist the acrylic plates to swap out quote/image cards
  • Double or single-sided display; it's up to you
  • Equally stable in portrait or landscape mode; it will not fall over
  • Can be picked up and put down without the images shifting because the four magnets that hold it are "industrial quality" and "crazy strong"
  • Works equally well as a coffee-table conversation piece, desk paperweight or displayed on a shelf

Each frame comes with 10 different quote/image cards; the frame accommodates two images (one on the front and one on the back) for a total of 45 unique pairings.

  • Archival ink
  • Acid-free paper
  • Gloss aqueous coating
  • 4" by 6" 16pt durable card stock
  • 240-line screen printing for sharp, clear color

Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra

The pharmaceutical industry has you by the balls. The governement needs to be able to collectively bargain for drug purchases. Doctors have to be forced to inform patients if there is a cheaper just as good alternative.

Medical insurance is the reason why medical services cost more in the US than practically anywhere else in the world. It's why executive douchebags can raise AIDS medication and EPI pens by 1000%. They even admit it themselves. The more you can cut out the profit incentive the closer you get to producing medical services at their actual cost.

For the history lesson and where the phrase came from..

Gird-Up-Your-Loins-2.jpg

While the Romans simply made a shorter tunic.

Quite an experience to live in misery isn't it? That's what it is to be married with children.

I've seen things you people can't even imagine. Pearly Kings glittering on the Elephant and Castle, Morris Men dancing 'til the last light of midsummer. I watched Druid fires burning in the ruins of Stonehenge, and Yorkshiremen gurning for prizes. All these things will be lost in time, like alopecia on a skinhead. Time for tiffin.

Its your opinion that 145% increases are do to drugs? Seems like there would be a flat increase nation wide if that were true.

Also, lol at the government running anything efficiently.

The medical service providers aren't selling to the end users, their main concern is simply that the drug or treatment is approved by insurance companies.

If the end users could bargain collectively they would get a better deal.

Quote
“Political philosophers have often pointed out that in wartime, the citizen, the male citizen at least, loses one of his most basic rights, his right to life; and this has been true ever since the French Revolution and the invention of conscription, now an almost universally accepted principle. But these same philosophers have rarely noted that the citizen in question simultaneously loses another right, one just as basic and perhaps even more vital for his conception of himself as a civilized human being: the right not to kill.”

-Jonathan Littell <<Les Bienveillantes>>
Quote

"The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. He was obsolete. But so is the State, the entity he worshipped. Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody. When it is naked, yet puts on armor and calls it faith, while in the Eyes of God it has no faith at all. Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man...that state is obsolete."

-Rod Serling
