Polish potato vodka, Luksusowa, to be more specific.  It's my favorite and I've always preferred potato vodkas to grain vodkas (my pops is the opposite).  I also have a can of Foster's ale in the fridge.  It's not the greatest  beer in the world, but I've always liked the giant can.  It makes me feel like a manly man drinking from a big ass can like that.

Positives of canned? Glass is where it's at m8.

You ever try 8th wonder beers?

I haven't, but I think they were featured in this Netflix beer documentary called Crafting a Nation.

As for bottles, I used to be like you, with a heavy can bias. But times are a changin'

You should if you can. I like the winter seasonal, but Rocket Fuel and Intellectuale are pretty good.

I dunno, my can bias comes from having some really bad experiences with canned stout. 8th wonder's cans don't bother me so much, but it seems like most canned beers I try taste like metal. Plus I like the feel of the glass.

Anyways I'm 25 tomorrow and going to drink heavily tonight so I can be a lazy **** on Sunday.

Happy almost birthday. I still prefer bottles as well, and the craft market is still fairly dominated by glass. But if you drink out of a can, you need to pour that beer into a cup, you are probably picking up on the aluminum rim if not. Heck, I won't even drink out of the bottle, you lose a bunch of the aroma when you do that.

Enjoying a batch of Voodoo Ranger IPA from New Belgium.

I usually pour into a glass, too, although citrus hops and flavors seem to taste better/more vibrant in the bottle. This Voodoo and NB's Citradelic are like that.

I'm actually drinking that right now. I do prefer drinking from a glass, but unfortunately I'm often away from a glass I can pour it into. And I don't think carrying around a glass is feasible.

We've got episode 10 up for listening. You might expect more professionalism now that we are in double digits. I did break a mic stand and manage to super glue it back together, so hopefully that fits the bill.

I'm drinking a More Cowbell and per Hurlie's recommendation poured the can into a glass. Planning on getting ****faced tonight so will probably start spamming this thread with drinks and other bizarre posts.

Episode 11 is up, bit of mixed bag this time, although they've all got some fruit qualities in them. I'll probably do some more Japanese brewing history in future shows to elaborate on this one.

I posted a little mini-episode with some friends. We had a bit too much background noise, but the beer was interesting:

And right now I'm drinking a beer from a brewery named after the Sumerian goddess of fermentation. Little teaser for the next episode. :p

Nice, that's the first IPA from Belching Beaver I've seen. Their peanut butter milk stout is my go-to dark.

They are from SD, last year they opened a tasting room and tavern/grill location in Vista ... converting an old bank building. The drive-thru is now the outdoor tap. Great food.

The other day while waiting in line to checkout at the supermarket I saw something I thought I would never see in my entire life... a man buying O'Douls in full view of the public.

Quote
“Political philosophers have often pointed out that in wartime, the citizen, the male citizen at least, loses one of his most basic rights, his right to life; and this has been true ever since the French Revolution and the invention of conscription, now an almost universally accepted principle. But these same philosophers have rarely noted that the citizen in question simultaneously loses another right, one just as basic and perhaps even more vital for his conception of himself as a civilized human being: the right not to kill.”

-Jonathan Littell <<Les Bienveillantes>>
Quote

"The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. He was obsolete. But so is the State, the entity he worshipped. Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody. When it is naked, yet puts on armor and calls it faith, while in the Eyes of God it has no faith at all. Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man...that state is obsolete."

We paired cookies with some beers today, it was pretty fun. I also went full nerd and made a rubric for our beer drinking, and now we assign letter grades. Black Butte Porter was the only unanimous A.  :)
