Keyrock Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 I agree Affirmative Action wasn't created out of spite and that it was intended to do good, but I still think it's wrong. To me, the best way to stop discrimination is to stop discriminating rather than to discriminate against those that previously did the discriminating in an effort to "even the playing field". To me, the best way to stop discrimination is to stop discriminating rather than to discriminate against those that previously did the discriminating in an effort to "even the playing field". Well thats one thing I have noticed, some people that were discriminated against during Apartheid have no issue demonstrating bigotry ...it can be a little annoying "Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is and saw Virtue in her shape how lovely: and pined his loss” John Milton "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” - George Bernard Shaw "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. Fighter Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 People should stop acting like affirmative action is uniquely good. it may come out as the greater good but it inherently creates another kind of injustice. And this is how it should be talked about.

My thoughts exactly, a pity that one of the few gentlemen willing to make a stand against demonisation and villainisation of the public is so smitten, one hopes that he is one of the few outliers and has a good few years left. Ones thoughts go out to his young wife and son, hopefully they will have the time they need to adjust to this and reach some kind of acceptance. Quite an experience to live in misery isn't it? That's what it is to be married with children.I've seen things you people can't even imagine. Pearly Kings glittering on the Elephant and Castle, Morris Men dancing 'til the last light of midsummer. I watched Druid fires burning in the ruins of Stonehenge, and Yorkshiremen gurning for prizes. All these things will be lost in time, like alopecia on a skinhead. Time for tiffin. Tea for the teapot!

If you replace fiefdom with company and feudal lord with investors then it totally makes sense. Granted there is more mobility when compared with actual feudalism but I have to say that the resemblance its uncanny. Guys does this type of behavior really bother you? I mean TB is really only a "minor " Internet celebrity who has his supporters but clearly is also seen as a supporter of GG which means he would be reviled. I would also be saying " I am glad he is dying ' if I was a committed anti-GG. Its just words on the Internet...it means nothing especially in this context There is no decorum and decency left in the GG debate, people on both sides have no issue with any kind of vitriol....so I'm not sure why this seems like such a shock? This was one of the main reasons I left this debate, apart from the mistake I made in the beginning with supporting one side automatically, I realized I was wasting time with Internet debates around perceived SJ issues with people who actually didn't really care about SJ issues....
