They fixed it later again, so I was able to redeem it in the end.

I'm liking that GoG is getting more and more indie/new release and other "not old or at least not super old" titles - even if my current self isn't much of a gamer anymore. Maybe in another 10 years I won't care about Steam at all.

GoG is like Jergal. All things will eventually be subject to his realm. It's the better choice--particularly if you're back-logged.

Bunch of Close Combat games released- 2,3,4 of the original series plus the modern Caen and Mortain games. While the AI in the old games was frequently not very intelligent and the engine was creakier than century old wooden floorboards by the end they were great fun, especially 2 & 3. Nothing quite like creeping around Arnhem with your last PIAT squad trying to one shot Tigers (that the AI would helpfully move up without infantry support and then park facing the wrong way rather too frequently, but still...).

Continued from Shady's giveaway thread:

Does GoG really make tons of money?

In the past GOG was profitable but not raking in oodles of money by any means, but GOG Sp. z o.o does more for CDPR than just sell games through GOG.com (e.g. host infrastructure). Not sure how well GWENT's doing, that could quite possibly be (have been?) a major boost in income.

But CDPR's financial statements are public, so if you're interested (and properly bored), have at it. ;)

Dungeons 2 for free until tomorrow. Have heard it's not that great, but it's free.

Well nothing beats free and I'm dying for some Dungeon Keeper. Even if it's bad... :)

edit:

Man, the reviews on GOG said the writing was bad. But this is "so bad it's good" type of nonsense. Too bad the game part isn't up for the fun so far.

And they're not letting up. At all. It's like aliens found Dungeon Keeper, didn't understand what was great about it and tried to recreate it.

Yeah, I think I paid a decent price for this game.

Good old games? Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 Enchanted version exist. ****ed up by an ultra feminist who have introduced new characters like a gay and a transvestite that certainly try to hit on your male character... and not subtle as all. Sounds like an evil feminist plot. No thanks to enchanted edition.

BG1 and BG2 with widescreen mod? Yes it looks better but still outdated graphics and the above game is also. It is not only that I remember very clear how BG1 and BG2 ends... and most of the things in those games.

That being said.... Baldur's Gate 1 and Baldur's Gate uses Dungeons Dragons 2nd edition rules set. 2n Edition DD rules are much better then what POE1 and POE2 uses which seems to be an adaptation of the worst edition released DD 4th edition. DD5th edition is the newest and they went back to its roots after DD4th recieved negative feedback. Basically DD5 the edititon is a bit simpler and more user friendly and easier learning curve.

same. they have a great combat system, I really enjoyed playing their free multiplayer spin-off game, but the main game didn't work for me at all. boring and uninspiring. the art style is awesome though, I keep hoping they do a bigger game with all of BS's enjoyable parts.

Have you tried War For The Overworld? (Also on GoG)

*I played the original Dungeonkeeper a couple nights ago, and it as good as it ever was... except that the GoG version includes Deeper Dungeons... and I did have that the first time around.  DK1—unlike Dk2, has the minion vision effects in software/DOS mode; lost in accelerated Directx mode.

**A tip for any who have DK1, and the SereneScreen aquarium screensaver/sim. Select the DK1 map screen audio track as background music for the aquarium.  8)  8)

I remember, back in my day, the Gwent closed Beta was so fun, and then they changed it into a completely different game for the Open Beta, such that the Gwent I knew and loved died. Can't get into that overcomplicated garbage that the standalone Gwent is now. Kids these days! I shake my walking cane violently at you, kids and e-sports! VIOLENTLY!
