Mamoulian War Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 The incredible Adventures of Van Helsing I and II Yes or No? Haven't played any quality Diablo clone for ages, and right now it's on sale... The setting for me is really appealing, but Path of Exile and Torchlight was kind of boring to me Haven't played and not planning to play Diablo III, because of the online only ridiculousness... GOG also confirmed that Final Cut will be for free for all owners of all three games >link<, so getting it now for me is really really tempting... Labadal Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Had I been here in time, I would have recommended Grim Dawn.
Keyrock Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 (edited) Had I been here in time, I would have recommended Grim Dawn. Great game, even if still unfinished. Granted, the last time I played it was nearly a year ago. I made the decision then that I didn't want to get burnt out on the game before it actually fully released, hence I won't touch it again until then. Amentep Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 ^Yeah kind of my feeling too. I've toyed with it, but don't want to invest heavily until it is done. I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man
rjshae Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 The other day I had to buy NWN2 from GoG because it no longer installs to Windows 8.1 from media. *sigh* This will be the fourth time I've bought the game; I mainly load it for the toolset and the ability to play custom modules. Bartimaeus Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 (edited) I have one of the pretty few copies on Steam, fortunately. (e): ...though I have no idea if it works on Windows 8.1 or greater. What's the problem with the DVD? Edited September 14, 2015 by Bartimaeus Quote How I have existed fills me with horror. Nonek Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 I was always surprised that there was not a bigger outcry when IGN shut down the Neverwinter Vault and so many content packs and modules were lost, sure thanks to the good works of an independent curator many of the high profile works were saved but still it just shows how low curation is on the corporate scale. It's all about that next big sale, never about a catalogue of work and a history. Quite an experience to live in misery isn't it? Bartimaeus Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 I didn't know about that. That's pretty disappointing. Was there not even a warning that it was going to happen? Nonek Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 (edited) No none whatsoever, which is why so much was lost apparently, truly a waste. Edit: That said the new Vault is doing sterling work and implementing most of the old content, which is a Herculean task in and of itself. Malcador Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 http://www.gog.com/news/release_system_shock System Shock: Enhanced Edition now comes with official support for resolutions up to 1024x768 (compared to the original 640x480), and a native 854x480 widescreen mode. Gameplay is streamlined with a toggleable mouselook mode, including more intuitive inventory and item management. Combined with assorted bug-fixes and remappable controls, System Shock is now truly enhanced. Still, some gaming experiences are truly worth preserving, so you can also return to the authentic 90's gameplay with System Shock: Classic - ready for modern systems, completely unaltered in all other aspects. 1 Why has elegance found so little following? Zoraptor Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 And it actually looks like a potentially worthwhile purchase even if you own the CD version/ System Shock Portable since it isn't just base game + SS2Tool as the System Shock 2 release was but has improvements like persistent settings and a windows executable. Night Dive actually owns the System Shock IP now so there might even be sequels- potentially pretty cool if they can find the right devs. The SS2 re-release has sold well over 1.5 million copies (and more on GOG than Steam, despite the bundles it has been in being steam keys) so they've got a decent base to aim at even if a lot of those sales have been at a lower price point than even the $10 base.
Keyrock Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 They just put several classic id FPSs on GOG, including Return to Castle Wolfenstein. That game was so ****ing good. RFK Jr 2024 "Any organization created out of fear must create fear to survive." - Bill Hicks

Edited October 25, 2015 by Agiel 1 Quote “Political philosophers have often pointed out that in wartime, the citizen, the male citizen at least, loses one of his most basic rights, his right to life; and this has been true ever since the French Revolution and the invention of conscription, now an almost universally accepted principle. But these same philosophers have rarely noted that the citizen in question simultaneously loses another right, one just as basic and perhaps even more vital for his conception of himself as a civilized human being: the right not to kill.” -Jonathan Littell <<Les Bienveillantes>> Quote "The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. He was obsolete. But so is the State, the entity he worshipped. Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody. When it is naked, yet puts on armor and calls it faith, while in the Eyes of God it has no faith at all. Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man...that state is obsolete." -Rod Serling

Majek Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 I always wanted to own Falcon 4.0 only for a massive manual the game shipped with. :D 1.13 killed off Ja2.
majestic Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Mixed feelings here. I no longer have a flight stick (let's face it, in the past 15 years that's been nothing more than useless clutter on the desk) and I no longer have the spare time necessary to really enjoy Falcon like I did back in my school days. Although 4.0 probably stopped being the buggy piece of crap it was for years after its release and my current rig should have absolutely no issues with Falcon 3.0, unlike my trusty old 386 had back in the day. No mind to think. No will to break. No voice to cry suffering.
