Is there some way to fast forward until morning / noon / evening? I don't really want to explore these lovely maps in pitch darkness unless there's a good reason to do so, but I seem to be stuck in a cycle of waking up from a rest or walking out of a dungeon to find it's nighttime.

Another great feature we lost from BG series, true.

Uh, yeah, the good ole "advance time" feature from... the BG series. Of all the features BG didn't have but we are going to pretend it did, this one is among my favorites! :p

Since you could rest at any time in BG, it was easy to advance time by 8 hours at least.

Yes.

There's a console command:

AdvanceTimeByHour int

I don't know if it requires IE mod or not.

And now tell me why you can't in PE. And no "boohoo I needed to use up my resting supplies I wouldn't use otherwise anyway" doesn't count.

I agree that that is such a stupid idiotic pathetic garbage hateful retarded scumbag evil satanic nazi like term ever created. At least top 5.

I'd like to see this feature too.

I wouldn't use it very often, because I think it adds to immersion when I walk out of a dungeon and time has passed. The randomness can be interesting; I've never liked games that force day/night cycles so you're always exploring graveyards at night, etc. But I would use it to set daytime for areas like Copperlane when dealing with outdoor merchants. It doesn't feel right to have everyone standing around hawking their wares in the middle of the night.

I think it was Troika's Temple of Elemental Evil that had an advance time option. You could simply specify how many hours you wanted to let pass. It wasn't resting and so no healing or spell resources would be regained. It was a handy option that would probably be easy to implemement.

Outside of cheat/console commands and camping/resting at an Inn more than once, there doesn't appear to be.

The only method would be to travel from a map to another and back again to waste time. Pick one that's 4-8 hours travel time, for example.

Causes more fatigue.

Yes, but unless all your parties have 0 Athletics, not enough to really matter a whole lot if you're just trying to move the clock forward 4-6 hours ... I have 3 Athletics and I seem to be able to go multiple days without Fatigue setting in. When I camp/rest, it's not because of Fatigue issues.

For Act 2, you can go to Stormwall Gorge and click on the little plate in the ground on the lower left part of the overmap next to the entrance to the dungeon. This item has a scripted event interface; one of the options is "wait and see", which will instantly cause 8 hours to pass. You can do this as much as you want until Act 2 passes and Stormwall Gorge opens all the way; at that point the item is no longer clickable.
