grumbold99 Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Is there some way to fast forward until morning / noon / evening? I don't really want to explore these lovely maps in pitch darkness unless there's a good reason to do so, but I seem to be stuck in a cycle of waking up from a rest or walking out of a dungeon to find it's nighttime. 2
WDeranged Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 I don't think there is but it'd be a great feature to patch in. 4
Mazisky Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 LoL, places like Caed Nua are much more atmospheric at nighttime, imho
geobio Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Another great feature we lost from BG series, true.
sim-h Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 This should surely be easy to add? Like resting but without the....rest
Starwars Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 (edited) It'd be very nice to have! EDIT: Of course, it may be problematic in regards to the Stronghold. Edited March 28, 2015 by Starwars Listen to my home-made recordings (some original songs, some not): http://www.youtube.c...low=grid&view=0
Marceror Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Another great feature we lost from BG series, true. Uh, yeah, the good ole "advance time" feature from... the BG series. Of all the features BG didn't have but we are going to pretend it did, this one is among my favorites! 7 "Now to find a home for my other staff."My Project Eternity Interview with Adam Brennecke

frabron Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 I support this request. It would be cool to have an option to wait until morning light before exploring those really nice looking wilderness areas 1

Yes. There's a console command: AdvanceTimeByHour int http://rien-ici.com/iemod/console I don't know if it requires IE mod or not. 1
Hassat Hunter Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Since you could rest at any time in BG, it was easy to advance time by 8 hours at least. And now tell me why you can't in PE. And no "boohoo I needed to use up my resting supplies I wouldn't use otherwise anyway" doesn't count. ^ I agree that that is such a stupid idiotic pathetic garbage hateful retarded scumbag evil satanic nazi like term ever created. Frond Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 I would like to choose resting hours as well. I greatly prefer exploring in the day.
Zenicetus Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 I'd like to see this feature too. I wouldn't use it very often, because I think it adds to immersion when I walk out of a dungeon and time has passed. The randomness can be interesting; I've never liked games that force day/night cycles so you're always exploring graveyards at night, etc. But I would use it to set daytime for areas like Copperlane when dealing with outdoor merchants. It doesn't feel right to have everyone standing around hawking their wares in the middle of the night.
Badmojo Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Yea, especially when you rest and suddenly its night, should just rest till morning or give you an option on when to wake up.
Marceror Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 I think it was Troika's Temple of Elemental Evil that had an advance time option. You could simply specify how many hours you wanted to let pass. It wasn't resting and so no healing or spell resources would be regained. It was a handy option that would probably be easy to implemement. LadyCrimson Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Outside of cheat/console commands and camping/resting at an Inn more than once, there doesn't appear to be. The only method would be to travel from a map to another and back again to waste time. Pick one that's 4-8 hours travel time, for example. “Things are as they are. Yes, but unless all your parties have 0 Athletics, not enough to really matter a whole lot if you're just trying to move the clock forward 4-6 hours ... I have 3 Athletics and I seem to be able to go multiple days without Fatigue setting in. When I camp/rest, it's not because of Fatigue issues. “Things are as they are. Katarack21 Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 For Act 2, you can go to Stormwall Gorge and click on the little plate in the ground on the lower left part of the overmap next to the entrance to the dungeon. This item has a scripted event interface; one of the options is "wait and see", which will instantly cause 8 hours to pass. You can do this as much as you want until Act 2 passes and Stormwall Gorge opens all the way; at that point the item is no longer clickable.

Katarack21 Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Are people confusing "rest whenever you feel like" with "advance time whenever you want"?
