Malignacious Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 (edited) I don't want to have any females in my party yet I see from several gameplay videos always the same female. Is the game going to be linear like that or will you be able to discard any female character from the beginning? P.S. Is framerate locked? I have a 144Hz monitor. Edited July 30, 2014 by Malignacious

Silent Winter Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 In the last review I read, they clearly said that although the male NPCs are optional, female NPCs are compulsory - I believe the design decision was based around annoying sexist forum goers. ... ... .. . Seriously - what kind of question implies that? All party members are optional The 2 you see in the first section video are temporary party members but also they can die/leave based on decisions you make. 1 _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ *Casts Nature's Terror* , *Casts Firebug* , *Casts Rot-Skulls* , *Casts Garden of Life* *Spirit-shifts to cat form*
Hiro Protagonist II Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 What makes you think you can't remove party members from your party?
Elerond Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 What game's frame rate has to do with your monitor's refresh rate?

That's a relief, I was already thinking I would have to intentionally let every female character be killed so I could get rid of them, which would perhaps ruin quests. I really don't like pretending that sexual dimorphism doesn't exist, it breaks through the suspense of disbelief.

archangel979 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 So I guess you don't watch Game of Thrones because Brianne exists? 1

RocketChaser Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 I intend to make my toon, Snoop Diddy Dre, recruit exclusively hawt beetches and prowl my way round the world with ma pimpin harem. Male "companions" best be freakin optional. #thug4lifebrrrap 4

dorkboy Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 I wanna make a party of only Orlans and Black Oozes. Can I, please? It breaks my suspension of utter bullsh1t when I can't do that. 8 This statement is false.
IndiraLightfoot Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Fear not, Malignicious! Obsidian's party creation system will definitely support any forms of same-sex parties (although they cannot guarantee seclusion from other genders in-game, in fact, not even gender-bending and other queer social events), and it will accommodate for this without any qualms about whatever haphephobic or misogynic reasons such special needs may entail. Happy gaming! 1 *** "The words of someone who feels ever more the ent among saplings when playing CRPGs" ***
Elerond Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 It is nice that you think that sexual dimorphism in high fantasy setting is same for all races as it is for human population in our world, especially when it don't stop women to be explorers, fighters, etc. even in our world let alone in world where there is magic that changes all power dynamics between sexes wholly. 7
Doppelschwert Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 You should go to the romance thread and have a discussion with bruce about women in video games 5
RocketChaser Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 You should go to the romance thread and have a discussion with bruce about women in video games Look, Malignacious is just a feminist. He loves women and doesn't want to see them in danger. 4
Malignacious Posted July 30, 2014 Author Posted July 30, 2014 I really don't like pretending that sexual dimorphism doesn't exist but why would, specifically, 'female' characters be compulsory? There is a recent trend to feminize everything in gaming, due to supremacist, sexist and violent dogma of feminism present in fake liberal culture(actually socialist and totalitarian). These vile feminist creatures even made death threats to a recent gathering about reducing anti-male violence(women dish out most violence against children, especially against boys), so the whole venue had to be changed. 1
