The same without guns but with a football? :)

It is a bit simplified I guess: there are no different move speeds (everybody runs), you don't crouch, you don't change facing. You still get to set waypoints, adjust the timer on how long a player waits before the next move. So very much taken the basics of Synapse's gameplay and adapted them to a sports game. It is still earlyish in development though, so I take it a lot more stuff will be added on.

Played a couple of games versus Very Easy AI so far. Won 7-2 and lost 4-7 (AI pulled off a Hail Mary pass from one endzone to the other).

Unobtrusively informing you about my new ebook (which you should feel free to read and shower with praise).

The words freedom and liberty, are diminishing the true meaning of the abstract concept they try to explain. The true nature of freedom is such, that the human mind is unable to comprehend it, so we make a cage and name it freedom in order to give a tangible meaning to what we dont understand, just as our ancestors made gods like Thor or Zeus to explain thunder.

Just out of interest, how often does the game crash for you guys?  Normally NV is pretty stable for me but this time round I'm getting a crash every 5-10 hours...which is still great for a Bethesda engine I suppose.

Just be glad that you are playing the PC version, the ps3 version used to crash every 5-10 minutes after 50 hours of playing.

If DCS is still leaving you hankering for something that can cruise faster than 250 knots combat loaded, won't struggle to get above 15,000 ft MSL, and still pitch and roll on a dime, I would suggest picking up Jane's F/A-18 with the Team Superhornet add-on. The attention to avionics detail is only surpassed by DCS and Falcon 4.0. Also, the lead producer of Digital Combat Simulator, Matt Wagner, got his start in the industry working on this project.

First glance at Amazon US showed a used copy for $13.42 USD, though I unfortunately could not find copies on European retailers, so if you're game you might have to pay the same sum for shipping and handling.

As for alternatives... well... it's not available on GoG or any other digital retailer and I highly doubt EA in its current form is interested in re-releasing a dated-looking study-sim. So an alternative I would suggest is an alternative I *cannot* suggest    ;)

I notice you have a member named AnimalMother. is it the one who made those awesome coop missions: Reaper, Steamroller, Hind in Sight etc. for ACE2? or is the other one, formerly of GoL and Havoc Company? or neither?

I would have to ask him the next time we speak over Teamspeak. I should say given a certain character from a certain film, there ought to be at least a large number of mil-sim players who share that moniker as well.
