BruceVC Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 It's basically the same traditional items but we are trying to do something completely non-traditional this year since I don't really care for Turkey, stuffing, or any of the other stuff Okay, so don't leave us hanging What exciting and different grub are you having this year? So I'm envious of Thanksgiving as its unique to the USA "Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is and saw Virtue in her shape how lovely: and pined his loss” John Milton "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” - George Bernard Shaw "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. kgambit Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I made stir-fry sweet and sour shrimp with green pepper, onion, water chestnuts, pineapple and snow peas over wild rice. No soy sauce (too much sodium) and the sweet and sour sauce had only 58 mg sodium in it. 2

Walsingham Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Christmas party tonight. What food will you guys be eating? Let me guess, Roast Swan ...or maybe Wild Rabbit and Guinness Pie....or I know!!!! A British Xmas dinner is not a British dinner without Eel and Partridge....so you probably having an Eel broth with roasted Partridge I know my British culture you have to admit 1 "Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is and saw Virtue in her shape how lovely: and pined his loss” John Milton "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” - George Bernard Shaw "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. BruceVC Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I'm making Pasta tonight with mushrooms, red onions and garlic. Then I'll use a good quality supermarket sauce. PK htiw klaw eriF Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Yesterday I ate leftover fried rice and orange beef before rushing out and consuming some expensive drinks. LadyCrimson Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 For lunch I'm having a peanut butter sandwich. Not something I usually have or even like, but the other day I had a dream where I wanted super creamy Jiffy and was driving around everywhere looking for it but no one had it. Odd dream, since that type of peanut butter was never a staple in my parents house. When I idly told hub of this dream, he came back from a beer run that night with a jar of Skippy ("they didn't have Jiffy"). So...hm. It's kinda sweet tasting. Sticks to the teeth tho. “Things are as they are. Walsingham Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 I cooked pasta, then ate far too much. I always cook and eat too much starchy stuff in winter. But it's bloody freezing here just now.
