Re-reading Starship Troopers as for some reason I watched the movie last night, and generally avoiding thinking about having to go into work tomorrow. Another resignation, but we might have a new hire. Something about him bothers me, but eh.

Had a very long night. Not sure of all the details, but what I do remember is pleasant.

I hear ya.. I just got pictures from my soiree however and can now see in glorious detail all the things I didn't remember... or wanted to..

Spending the afternoon playing with some kittens. It makes me feel better and as hubby says, it's hard to resist them when they're little. Such tiny squeaky meows...

I don't think you could expect any system to prevent the lone wolf idiot.

'Course not. Which is why I said "not really." But sometimes you wish it could.

As I sit here about to clock in, I'm debating using some of my limited (feeling anyway) free time this week to at least try to write a chapter of a "Wuxia in Rome" story if I can. Just to see if it'd fit.

Today I looked at my forum profile and noticed that I was 34 years old... when did that happen? I could swear I am not a day older than 28.

I don't know about you, but I remember turning 28 and thinking "I bet this is the best age I'm ever going to be."

As a tangential but related aside, I would observe that all the time I spent in my teens and twenties chasing girls was completely 100% worthwhile. If any of you younger chaps are wondering if you should have 'better' priorities, the answer is 'no'.

Although potentially there are days where I'm younger then I look and older then I feel

To explain what I meant by zen, let me rephrase your sentence by adding 1 word (twice).

I am young and then I looked, I am older and then I felt.

New job, new flat, new city. Things deffinitly were looking awesome.

Had just made the move of going back to the uni for my LL.D. and also would meet the woman who'd **** me up for, if not life, certainly the years from 28 up to now.

Yeah, if it was the best age, I certainly woefully misspent it.

You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that?

I'm spending my youth drinking, partying, chasing girls, and chasing my dreams. I've come to the conclusion that spending your time doing things you will immensely enjoy is what you should do in your 20s.

It's grey, grim, miserable and pissing it down with rain here. Also, my internet keeps flickering off, which is not adding to my happiness.

As I've seen it.. one's youth is the battle against fear and hopefully overcoming it, learning the courage to chase dreams and desires and how to fulfill them... As the limitations of childhood breaks away, you are faced with the increasing multitudes of reality, in all it's wonders and horror. Many succumb to fear of their own shortcomings - but most of all, people succumb to the fear their own potential.

Youth is there to be misspent, I wish I could go back. Even though I look younger than I am Ive started developing an impressive grey hair patch on the top of my head like a skunk stripe. Ive also noticed some creeping in at my temples.

Meh, I wish I'd studied harder when I was younger.

As an 28 year old, my RL situation is the worst it's ever been. It's been downhill from 21.

I'm very thankfull for great friends! :)

Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary. - H.L.
