After reading Die Wacht am Rhein by John Ringo, I had to give this one a listen and I was not disappointed.

As Raithe would say: "Dear God, John Ringo, NO!"

some of you have really weird tastes when it comes to music. not to say it's bad or anything, different strokes for different folks and all that. but really, y'all should rethink your musical preferences.

take this piece for example. complicated, yet beautiful. not to mention hard as hell to play. stimulates your brain and refines your taste.

Sarah Chang in 2008 in a public concert in Amsterdam, still very beautiful.

I envy people that get to see musicians like her so much. I should move to a place where people appreciate good music. because this dump I'm currently in has 0 chances of attracting any kind of musicians except for amateur DJs who think they make good music (naive fools)

Well, taste has to be developed, which means coming into contact with new and different things, something most Amateur DJ's won't be ready for just yet.

Maybe this is more to your liking?

This is my favourite classical piece, I may have already posted it in an earlier iteration of this thread, I don't know.

There are more performances on youtube, but this one was the 4th found in a cursory search.

for comparison

So both have parts of the performance I don't like.

I've decided that from now on I'm going to play ALL the videos in here (on the one page) at once. Like some hellish mashup.

Grieg and Public Enemy is strangely pleasing.

EDIT: I started PE first, by about 30-20 seconds. It's now syncing, but I'm not smart enough to know how to help anyone else hear it.

It really is quite good.

what's not to like, it's Grieg! they say Grieg was for Norway what Sibelius was for Finland - to quote an anonymous author - "played an important role in the formation of the [peoples'] national identity".

speaking of Sibelius:

(ok, I admit, I only wanted to plug Sarah Chang in here again, even though it's not my favorite performance of this concerto, she's beautiful in every way)
