Spider Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 ME3 has sold 3.5mil+ copies thus far according to that article, and seems to partly responsible for EA turning some profit this year. Still a failure guys? Shipped != sold. But those are still decent numbers, although the sell through numbers are probably quite a bit lower.
Nepenthe Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Might help the tail problem going on. But graphics are easier to market. Screenshots? Check. Videos? Check. Gameplay doesn't come across well in either, not even videos. That is why you give out demos and on today's economy I treat every game purchase as if I was investing my money, with tons of research before I actually decide to buy a game. And that's why the economy is in the crapper, due to people just sitting on their money, afraid to use it for even the smallest purchases. You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that? Morgoth Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 That was like one of the worst trailers I've ever seen. Rain makes everything better.
Rosbjerg Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 That was like one of the worst trailers I've ever seen. I've seen worse... much much worse. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5rVlCYt25U Still backing the game, but daauym, they are bad at making trailers. Fortune favors the bald.
WorstUsernameEver Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 That was a hastily put together teaser though. The Kickstarter video is the official promotional material they're pushing.

mkreku Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 (edited) http://www.eurogamer...ownloaded-games EU rules publishers can't stop you from reselling your digitally downloaded games. I wonder what this will mean in the long run. Interesting, to say the least. Edit: Oops, sorry Decaf, didn't see your post there. pmp10 Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 (edited) EU rules you can resell downloaded games. Interesting. This sadly won't change anything long-term. Companies still consider EULAs binding even in countries that had ruled against them. If they pretend it didn't happen for long enough it will go away. Edited July 3, 2012 by pmp10
Hurlshort Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 How does reselling downloaded games even work? It seems like a terrible idea, to be honest.

Ok, so you sell your key to someone else, how is it going to be deactivated for you? Also, isn't this just going to lead to even more online DRM checks?

It sold 3.5mil+ copies. Why argue with facts? L0L 'Decent' numbers. DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.

Ok, so you sell your key to someone else, how is it going to be deactivated for you? Also, isn't this just going to lead to even more online DRM checks? It's about the principle of reselling a 'license' to a game. So in theory you could legally sell your steam/origin account with games attached to it.
Spider Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 "Shipped != sold. But those are still decent numbers, although the sell through numbers are probably quite a bit lower. " The article was very clear. It sold 3.5mil+ copies. Why argue with facts? L0L 'Decent' numbers. The article was misquoting it's source. The mass effect 3 has sold 3.5 million copies was a link to another article. Quoting from that: "EA announced today that Mass Effect 3 shipped over 3.5 million copies in the first week of release, selling 890,000 units in the first 24 hours of North American sales alone."
Volourn Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 It sold 3.5mil+ copies. 'Nough said. no amount of silly double spin talk by you changes that fact. DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
