So... how is it? I'll probably buy it just to enjoy it with friends, as I did with GW1, though in that case too I thought the game itself was just meh.

It is much better than Guild Wars.

im still infatuated with league of legends, i'll get around to guild wars 2 in a month or so...

Killing is kind of like playin' a basketball game. I am there. and the other player is there. and it's just the two of us. and I put the other player's body in my van. and I am the winner. - Nice Pete.

The levels have been flying by. I was questioning their level 80 cap, seemed pretty high for launch, and the original GW only went to level 20 so I thought it might not work for them. It was also a bit slow at the early levels, at least it felt that way because most games really fly through the first 10 levels. GW2 instead evenly paces all the levels, so going from 21 to 22 took about the same time as going from level 2 to 3. This really keeps the experience smooth, I don't feel any grinding at all.

I will agree on the most part, however I do find myself either grinding a half to full level for some story quests or taking the story quest under leveled and powering through it. Nothing too bad to deter my experience, and I'm really enjoying the game so far. Currently around level 16 or so I believe.

Really loving the game so far. Crafting can be a pain sometimes, when you're trying to scrounge for every bit of xp and having to gather an annoying number of fine materials, but my sweet new armor was worth it.

It will be a good deal easier to craft when that market is running consistently.

SadExchange you might want to try to mix it up a bit in between story quests. A little bit of WvW, a little bit of exploring other race's area's, and you can keep it very fresh. I gained a couple levels just exploring all the starter towns and Lion's Arch.

Wanted to play this weekend, but no digital copy out so I went with Amazon. Looks like Thursday of next week or so, bah!

Participated in the awesomesauce meta-event on Straits of Devastation. First some base defending while they army packed, then the fleet was greeted by Risen ships and a brutal underwater melee ensued - imagine the latter half of Freelancer, but with stabbing instead of flying. Then the invasion force landed and we had to establish a base, then lead a small force to a rally point, while other invasion forces landed in other events and they had to escort their guys to the rally point too! Risen at that point were all tough as nails, 20-30-50 had to unleash some serious beat-down to clear an area before the mobs respawned. At the end came an undead priest of Balthazar accompanied by two champion abominations. With one skill he insta killed a third of the fighting force. :D Not even downed, just straigth defeated. Too bad the Armageddon Armor you can buy at the end sucks.

One problem we had was that my friend spent most of the final battle dead. Despite dealing damage to the boss, healing others etc she got no rewards. Neither for the event, neither for the boss.

What's up everyone, 300-hour player here!

Maining a level 80 Asuran Mesmer with a level 35 Asuran Necromancer on the side. While the novelty of the game has worn off, I'm still playing it almost daily with my friends in our guild. It's a very enjoyable experience, I'm surprisingly addicted to the "Dress-up doll" aspect of the game. Just can't have enough good armor skins and dyes!

Also, is anyone else excited for the upcoming Halloween event?

I like the pvpcentric focus of GW. It's easy to tell that this tradition is succeeded in #2, for you get to 80 in PvE and are met with literally no endgame. I didn't bother wasting my time and headed straight to the mists. ^^

The strategy seems to work reminiscient of a card deck, you make a limited selection from a wide variety of abilities in a way that cohere with eac other. Although I can appreciate spammy spammy! gameplay - binding every key on my kb to some ability - it inevitably leads to a wide set of abiliites that do nothing more than cancel each other out. I just wish there were more game modes and maps for mists, to say variety is absent doesn't exclaim enough.

When saints are just dead sinners amended and revised, no wonder why greed and humiliation become the norms to bound and regulate mankind.

Hopefully quick and easy question. When I go to my inventory and click deposit all collectibles, where does that go? I'm assuming a bank somewhere, but a question on that, where are the banks? Are they only in the huge cities?

Posted

Mostly in cities, with a few exceptions here and there in smaller non-instanced towns. You can access your bank from crafting stations too.

The collectibles go to your bank, yes. There in the second tab you'll see all your collectibles categorized

Thanks for reply. Where when crafting can I check my bank though?

In crafting stations, as you use them, you have 4 tabs: 1) Discovery 2) Production 3) Bank 4) Collectibles (the order might be different but that's irrelevant)

It's pretty obvious, really

Yeah. Managed to complete it after an hour and got level 80 exotic gear (suh-weet!) and towards the end, it felt weird just how much of that platforming section snuck into my muscle memory.

So November update comming on the 15th. Following that update, a one time world event "The Lost Shores" will change the face of Tyria forever (event will last a weekend, probably the 17th and 18th?). It will open up a new area - a small to medium sized island with an end-game dungeon.

As the Lost Shores event will be around the Sea of Sorrows, there is a worry that the event is meant only for highish level characters.

I really need to get at least one of my characters to 80 so I don't have to worry about stuff like level requirements with events like this.
