sorophx Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 try this. thank you Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. And having been educated solely by mkreku in this respect I am convinced that Finland essentially IS the wh40k universe.
MechanicalLemon Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 By the way, in case there's anyone interested in a retrospective article Eric did one for the Icewind Dale games on GameBanshee. Great article. It's too bad we won't be able to read that entire interview with Feargus. I'm curious what he let slip.
Morgoth Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Mass Effect 4 allegedly coming to Xbox 720 in 2013 (German) Actual release date: Fall 2015. R00fles! Rain makes everything better.
Morgoth Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Gearbox Creative Director suffered stroke, talks about it Glad he recovered so fast. Rain makes everything better.
Malcador Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 If true, the 720 is a pretty poor name Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra
Jaesun Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Mass Effect 4 allegedly coming to Xbox 720 in 2013 (German) Actual release date: Fall 2015. R00fles! There is no Mass Effect 4. Morgoth Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 If true, the 720 is a pretty poor name It's not the final name. Rain makes everything better.

Rain makes everything better.
Malcador Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 If true, the 720 is a pretty poor name It's not the final name. Well that's good then. Maybe they'll call it xbox cubed or something. Morgoth Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 They just could go with the standard naming convention like they did with the latest Windows, and call it simply Xbox 3. But stupid people are going way too much confused about that. "What do you mean Xbox 3? Shouldn't it be Xbox 2?" "What do you mean Xbox 3? Ist that the same as Xbox 3-60?" facepalm.jpg So it's probably Xbox Next, or something like that. Rain makes everything better.
Jaesun Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 So it's probably Xbox Next, or something like that. Yeah, I keep wondering what they will be calling the next one. 720 is stupid. Maybe XBox Vista. Some of my Youtube Classic Roland MT-32 Video Game Music videos | My Music | My Photography
Hurlshort Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 After the red rings of death, I'm thinking they will stay away from any circular terminology.
WorstUsernameEver Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 So it's probably Xbox Next, or something like that. Yeah, I keep wondering what they will be calling the next one. 720 is stupid. Maybe XBox Vista. Rumor said that the codename is 'Xbox Loop'. Codenames mean nothing most of the time though, so even if true, we simply do not know.
entrerix Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 (edited) http://ps3.ign.com/articles/121/1210860p1.html a cry for a return to normalcy in Final Fantasy. i dont normally link to ign, but i pretty much agree with everything in this article with regard to getting the series back to when it was greatest (6-9) edit: a mass effect game being released alongside the new console in 2013 would be a GREAT way for microsoft to get their console started with a bang. especially if the game was so graphics heavy that it had to be a "720" exclusive (for another year till ps4 is released anyway). if they had a gears game for the casuals, mass effect for the nerds, and some kind of fancy kinect kids adventure platformer whatever for the soccer moms then they would probably have one of the most lucrative launches in generations (ignoring the wii...) Edited October 28, 2011 by entrerix Killing is kind of like playin' a basketball game. I am there. and the other player is there. and it's just the two of us. and I put the other player's body in my van. and I am the winner. - Nice Pete.
Morgoth Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 BioWare pushing for more platforms in the future Rain makes everything better.
Orogun01 Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 BioWare pushing for more platforms in the future So they're going to over-franchise and come up with weird ports of their games. Talk about new lows. I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"* *If you can't tell, it's you.
Volourn Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Since when is exapnding your business when you feel appropriate a 'low'. Last I checked, expansion is a sign of success and growth. LMAO DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
Morgoth Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 BioWare pushing for more platforms in the future So they're going to over-franchise and come up with weird ports of their games. Talk about new lows. It's called "adapting to change", and that includes expansion to all platforms and technologies. They looked at LOTR and Star Wars and thought they could elevate DA and ME into the same status, at some point. Rain makes everything better.
Malcador Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 BioWare pushing for more platforms in the future Seems reasonable enough to do. Why has elegance found so little following? They looked at LOTR and Star Wars and thought they could elevate DA and ME into the same status, at some point. So, up next Shepard Legos'? First of all neither ME or DA have reached the same iconic status as Star Wars; second of all can you honestly say that the quality of a series doesn't suffer when they "adapt to change"? 20 years later and Lucas is still trying to squeeze the juice of his franchise, coming up the very interesting debates of Greedo shot first or CGI added Ewoks in every scene. So yeah, BW can start doing games for mobile phone and cross platform events. After all what does another series becoming a corporate enterprise changes? I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"* *If you can't tell, it's you.
Malcador Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 It would be funny if in ME3 a cute, cuddly, toy marketable race helps destroy the Reapers. Why has elegance found so little following? Zoraptor Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 (edited) There have already been Facebook etc games done for Bioware stuff, just not by Bioware but by EA's specialist 2d group. More "get to level 10, send out x invites and get exclusive Awesome Item for core game x!", probably. They'll probably still largely be made by the 2d people, but described as being from Bioware. EA certainly seem to be trying to, heh, 'synergise' their studios- dismemberment in ME2 came from Visceral, DICE has had a hand in ME3's multiplayer etc. Edited October 29, 2011 by Zoraptor

Which is what we're going to see, new teams under different studios working on stuff that branches out. Clearly one can make a lot of money on a successful fantasy/scifi franchise without being SW or LotR. Edited October 29, 2011 by Nepenthe You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that? So yeah, BW can start doing games for mobile phone and cross platform events. After all what does another series becoming a corporate enterprise changes? Yeah, so what? Lego ME? DA browser game? I don't care. As long as they continue to make it for AAA platforms. Squeezing out the juice of Star Wars tells us more about Lucas, his company and his dumb fans than about the franchise itself, no? For all I care, ME and DA can still be good in 20 years, but that depends entirely on BioWare and how they handle it. Rain makes everything better.
