Pop Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 (edited) This is my face upon learning that Elijah will not turn out to be a Presper-esque character -> Other than that it sounds pretty cool! Edited November 20, 2010 by Pop Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!
Deadly_Nightshade Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Meh, I would have looked into it but the fact that it's only for the 360 makes that pointless. I wonder how much money Microsoft gave them for the exclusive? "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot
WDeranged Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 I'm relieved to see that this DLC is going to take place in the Mojave, all that empty space on the map needs filling with stuff to do

I'd bet a large sum of money that this will be coming out on the pc eventually, on a side note, does that screenshot remind anyone else of a Counterstrike level?
Gizmo Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 (edited) I find this cute. I recall the thread that asked for deploy-able bear traps, and I see they did the same thing with the eyes as I did in my own armor mod last year, (the only one that did that at the time ~that I am aware of). Edited November 20, 2010 by Gizmo
Tale Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 (edited) Deployable bear traps? No, that looks more like bear trap unarmed weapon. If he's deploying it, he's doing it upside down. Which considering his hand is in it, is probably for the best. Why character is running around gambling with 8 luck trying to get banned from all casinos. wheeee One down. WorstUsernameEver Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 This is my face upon learning that Elijah will not turn out to be a Presper-esque character -> There's nothing there that either confirms that or denies that actually.

They could have duplicated the Mine weapon, and just made a bear trap model with a paralyzing critical effect. **I can imagine that melee weapon latching onto a large enemy and them thrashing the helpless PC around left and right ~or worse... Some scene like with Marve and the killer kid in Sin City. (not like they'd allow that in the game, but its only common sense). Edited November 20, 2010 by Gizmo
LadyCrimson Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Hm. That longer description doesn't intrigue me too much. My only experience with DLC is Borderlands, and while I did like those quite a bit, I found one issue I have is that they felt disconnected from the main/original game that got you hooked in the first place. Just new set pieces for your chr. to run through, with harder difficulty or new monsters etc. I understand why that is (DLC isn't "expansion") but I'm not sure if I can look past that for a game like this vs. BL. But I'll still give this a shot when it's out for pc, I'm sure. I'm weak willed, and I must have more. :D “Things are as they are. Orchomene Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 I would really appreciate to see an expansion like the Night of the Raven (I think that's the name), the expansion for Gothic 2. It added content all through the game, like the game was just larger in itslelf. It felt like it was just one big game and not some added content next to the story.
Amentep Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Well, I made my first car explosion today. I mentioned missing them from FO3; this one worked out pretty nice. Tried to sniper some enemies and hit the truck behind them, they all ran to the noise which allowed the truck explosion to kill them I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

I love this idea, it's exactly what I'd like to see but I don't think we'll get anything like it for New Vegas, consolidated dlc with separate stories are way more marketable.
LadyCrimson Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Yeah, that's what I ideally like in expansions as well. I like new areas too, but I like when they mix some new stuff into the original game. Kind of like what they did with Diablo2:LOD/patches. There was the whole new Act5 bit, but also skill changes, item changes, etc. that were implemented across the board. However I don't like the way Blizzard completely changes skills & rules as drastically and constantly as they do...I mostly want to see new enemies, npc's, skills/options etc. to choose from to add incentive to start a new chr with, plus the new "area". You can still give players the option to use their leveled up chr. to leap into the new area if they want...but...yeah. “Things are as they are. HoonDing Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 I'm replaying and frequently encountering a glitch where my character is frozen in an animation, making the controls stop responding completely... the only way to fix this is quicksaving and quickloading. Very annoying, I'm guessing this was introduced by the new patch (I also don't have the impression that Boone got nerfed). But I am also playing with the Multi Companion mod, so it shouldn't be that much of an issue. Later I'll add Arcade, Cass & Lily, so I can nicely get to all content I missed in my first playthrough without having to lift a finger in combat. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
LadyCrimson Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 @virumor - So I take it that the multi-companion mod is working out ok in terms not causing more bugs? I mean, they made it sound like too many companions w/variable inventory might be a problem & that's why they didn't allow it in the first place. I could definitely get into at least having two human npc's. I wasn't that into the non-human ones. Decided my fave armor looks-wise (besides the chained prostitute clothing, heh) is the combat-reinforced (17dt). Because it doesn't look pinkish like the Mark-2 ones. The YCS/186 energy rifle (rifle version of Pushy): Craigy immediately equipped it for that sexy DPS, but...it confirmed his *Energy* weapon skill definitely isn't bugged, because 70% of the time his shots with it badly miss (the dot flash in top of pic). Course when he does hit, it's almost instant death. It was amusing for a while but it sucks up ammo like soda through a straw so back in storage it goes. I bet Arcade Gannon would like it? “Things are as they are. LadyCrimson Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 (edited) Found this mod that allows more companions but bases number you can have on your Charisma. I like that RPG concept (since Charisma is otherwise mostly useless to most). Seems to work. I'm happy with 2 humans and 1-2 non-humans. http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36949 Edited November 21, 2010 by LadyCrimson “Things are as they are. sorophx Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Found this mod that allows more companions but bases number you can have on your Charisma. original games had it like this. the number of companions equals your CHR score divided by 2. Marcus, Goris and Skynet, how I miss you guys Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. And having been educated solely by mkreku in this respect I am convinced that Finland essentially IS the wh40k universe.
WorstUsernameEver Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Not sure how you can miss the Fallout 2 party. Those guy got you stuck in the worst places and fired at you just as much as they fired at the enemies. LONG LIVE F:NV COMPANIONS!

Those guy got you stuck in the worst places and fired at you just as much as they fired at the enemies. LONG LIVE F:NV COMPANIONS! New Vegas has the best companions so far. They weren't an afterthought like in 1+3 and were better developed than in 2 probably thanks due to that there were way less here.
Hurlshort Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Agreed about the companions. Heck, most people are now complaining that they are too effective.
Starwars Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Some of them are bugged. Boone for example is overpowered which is a confirmed bug, and some of the companions are apparently underpowered. I had Arcade with me last time and he was very useful. I really enjoy the companions personality-wise in New Vegas, think they hit on a great note with having them be in-depth but not to the point where they sorta take over the game (like in NWN2 or DA where they are hugely important to the overall game). But even with the companion wheel, it's still a real pain in the ass to control them. Everytime I head into a "dungeon", I'm debating whether I want to bring them along because of their tendency to run off.
