HoonDing Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 I don't care about power armour, but I really want the armour of the guy on the cover of the game box if it's included in the game. Looks pretty badass. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.

HoonDing Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 It seems picking low INT was worth it after all. For some reason, the funny dialogue only seems to trigger when speaking with scientists and the like. Whoever wrote this, thank you for making me laugh out loud. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
WILL THE ALMIGHTY Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Boone is like your very own Jason Bourne bodyguard. I like how the characters behave more like... well, characters. Boone will mention sniping positions during a particular mission, mention he can spot targets for you in darker areas, etc... Veronica will actually talk to people in the BOS bunker, too. "Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"
sorophx Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 I wasn't flagged as being in disguise, but mind you I put on the T-45 armor that was given to me. it's a bug, yeah. you can give it to your companions, and they will wear it too Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. WorstUsernameEver Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 I wasn't flagged as being in disguise, but mind you I put on the T-45 armor that was given to me. The T-45d armor of the Brotherhood doesn't work as a disguise. Not sure if it's a bug or it's intended (considered that it's a quest reward).
sorophx Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 it has the Brotherhood insignia on, so my guess is it's a bug Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. HoonDing Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 It seems to me you temporarily lose your disguise if you repair it with another one. This happened to me in the beginning of the game with the Powder gang. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
Raithe Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 (edited) I don't care about power armour, but I really want the armour of the guy on the cover of the game box if it's included in the game. Looks pretty badass. Isn't that just the Bounty Hunter gear? the Wasteland trenchcat with a little armor? You can also get it by pickpocketing it off Red Lucy after she sleeps with you if you finish off The Thorn Quests... Edit: When you find the dead patrols of Brotherhood..the Armor you pick up from them was listed as Brotherhood T-45 Power Armor.. so I'm wondering if that's the "faction disguise armor" as opposed to the T-45 you earn as a quest reward. And yeah, I prefer the look of the Trenchcoat..but the + to strength for carrying capacity from power armor is so darn useful... WorstUsernameEver Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Nope. It's an armor worn by NCR Veteran Ranger.
sorophx Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 (edited) haven't seen a Veteran Ranger yet, but on the pictures they look like the guys from the Kerberos Panzer squad EDIT: can anyone explain how do I hide my weapon inside a casino? I get an option to <keep holdout weapon>, my sneak skill is 100. I choose this option and nothing happens... Orchomene Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 I don't know why people in Beth forum say that energy weapon are underpowered. I recently found a unique gauss rifle which rocks, named YCS 186. It's in the NW part of the map, not far from where one of the caravan of Cass has been attacked. Problem is that I had to wait before using it since it was broken beyond useage and couldn't use a waepon repair kit on it (you have to carry the weapon to use the kit). Thus I had to find another gauss rifle. But wow. So powerful, I'm killing almost anything directly and the weapon is scoped. A bit slow as a contact weapon, but very effective. Main drawback : munition cost with useage of 4 MFC per shot.

Only certain weapons can be hidden.. so if you're not actually carrying any that qualify... So lets see.. Brass Knuckles, Switchblades, Silenced 22, 9mm, Laser Pistol, Grenades and dynamite... Oh and you'll probably need to remap the quick keys for weapons everytime you go in and out of a casino.. And on the Laser weapons.. Meltdown + Laser Pistol is deadly to use in close quarters.. sorophx Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 (edited) oh, I see, thanks. on a related note: can anyone explain what do I do in the White Glove society quest? I want to bring down Mortimer and his scheme, save the boy and stay on good terms with the society. but so far anything I do results in the whole building becoming hostile. very frustrating I can't enter the investigator's room. I can't take the boy to his father (even after Mortimer himself asked me to), I can't kill him either. what the hell? Main drawback : munition cost with useage of 4 MFC per shot. That's because below Gauss Rifles, they have lots of problems with armor. Though this may be because people aren't using overcharge and maxcharge ammo. Heck, the laser rifle is the only weapon in the game that I've seen that has a mod that actually makes the gun worse in some conditions. Beam splitter, turns the gun useless against enemies with armor. I haven't moved to the Laser RCW or the Plasma Rifle yet. Plasma pistol was just fine against armor, though. I figure the Plasma Rifle's going to be okay. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."

The +strength from the power armor is mitigated from the fact that it weighs 40 though. Given the +1 Strength increases your capacity by 10, you still have a net loss of 30.

HoonDing Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Both laser rifles & plasma rifles should have a way higher DAM than they currently have in the game. Consider that in real life, Nd-YAG lasers are used to cut metals, and the beam of a laser rifle in FO is more powerful than the Nd-YAG. And plasma just burns through everything, that's why it is encapsulated into a very high magnetic field in tokamaks. In my opinion, energy weapons should be way more powerful, but also much more difficult to find (I got attacked by Powder gangers in the NCRCF wielding plasma pistols, for instance). The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.

Nope. Designers that use this kind of reasoning should be beaten until they bleed from their eye sockets.

Thorton_AP Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 I hid my hold out weapons and it was removed from my inventory. The only items that remained were the silenced .22 pistol and the switchblade.
Tale Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 It may vary from casino to casino. Since it appears they were scripted differently. One casino actually requires a stealth check for the holdout option. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
Thorton_AP Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Ah could be. Mine was Tops IIRC. It's also possible they only keep one firearm.
sorophx Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 I do agree that energy weapons should be more powerful like in F2 for example. so far they're a big disappointment, save for the Gauss Rifle Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland.
