This sounds promising:

I wonder if Obsidian has taken a glance at it? Their games would suit this motion capturing system exceptionally well.

Indeed it sounds like something that'll put animators out of their jobs. Oh wait... :ermm:

More videos from Arcania:

It just shows a little combat and how seamless the world is when going from dungeon to overland map. But at least it is in English.

This one is on Polish. Not only that but the video quality sucks and there's no apparent way to link directly to the video. After clicking the link provided by me, you need to click the "Gramy w Arcania: Gothic 4" link on the right.

I included it anyhow because of this:

ArcaniaOptions.jpg

The developers have said that the game will be very customizable so it will suit both newcomers to the series and old Gothic fans alike, and in this options screen you can see some of that. You can turn off quest markers at least!

All in all, it's really looking good.

Sounds like a pretty fun game from most reviews, Wolfenstein was also panned as generic but it was quite good.

You must have played a different game from the reviewers and myself. In comparison to RtCW, I don't think there was a single non-graphical improvement in the game. :)

You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that?

Actually, I must correct myself. Wolfenstein had the best opening trailers I've ever seen in a game (great audio on 'em) and the gravity fx were kind of neat. As a game, it still blew.

RtCW is one of the handful of games I basically always keep installed on any computers I own (along with BG2, Deus Ex and usually with Red Alert 2 and Dawn of War) :(

How's it that he's credited for Fallout : New Vegas and Dungeon Siege III but NOT Alpha Protocol? An error or..? :) Or maybe they're just trying to keep his reputation clean after all the bad buzz the game has received?

Only they know.
