So here it is... what do our resident Stalin-apologists make of it?

Don't tell me, they were counter-revolutionaries and it was all part of a greater good right? Try it, just remember, last week you were denying it.

Besides LoF, who else here is a Stalinist?

I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"*

Since Lof will only make a tl;dr post I will emulate it with this pic.

It's a little unfair to say LoF is a Stalinist. I think he tries to blame Stalin for all the 'mistakes' made by communism.

No, he thinks Stalin made mistakes. Certainly not communism.

Hmmmm. Yes I do think out of all of us, you do have a "special" insight to what he is thinking.

He doesn't bother me anymore. I've moved on to hating on contemporary Russian apologists like obykven or whatever his name is.

LoF, I'll try explaining this very simply:

GENOCIDE AND MASS MURDER ARE FAR WORSE THAN POVERTY!!!!

In 7th grade, I teach the students how Chuck Norris took down the Roman Empire, so it is good that you are starting early on this curriculum.

Agreed. Fortunately, your bourgeois democracy somehow manages to do both. I wonder how? *whistles absent-mindedly*

Just out of curiosity, where do you live? Not in the States certainly. Right?

*complains about some microscopic Soviet atrocity*

Again, you are best condemned in your own words. 22,000 soldiers being murdered is not 'microscopic'. But it does illustrate your swivel-eyed fundamentalism that you regard that number as microscopic.

To put it another way the only reason the famine crimes of the Empire are important (which you keep mentioning) is because the victims are made up of lots of those 'microscopic' quantities. The point being that you don't give a toss about actual people. You just want an excuse to put on some high leather boots, and start pumping bullets into anyone who doesn't do exactly as you say. Sod compassion. The revolution for you is just high times and 'revenge'.

Incidentally, I notice as usual you couldn't be bothered to address my counterpoint t o your claim that communism can be maintained by peace and love despite the fact that any time mass terrifying violence isn't applied the actual people benefiting from communism flee as fast as humanly possible.

Blah blah blah blah.

I meant to put "comparatively" microscopic, but it should have been obvious based on context. Then again, I shouldn't have expected intellectual honesty from the guy who tried to argue that the Holodomor was an intentional genocide.

This again?

It was intentional. Intentional as in, one of the reasonably foreseeable consequences of collectivisation, a policy they implemented regardless.

It's funny that you of all people would accuse anyone of intellectual dishonesty, mr. "any party but the CPSU is a reactionary bourgeois power clique".

LOL. I am content to be judged by my peers on my intellectual honesty. The opinion of indigent socipaths are of little concern.

I note you still refuse to comment on my rebuttal of your claim that people love to be communist.

If the Holodomor was intentional, the far greater massacres of the Indian and Irish famines under British rule were also intentional and much, much greater.

How, exactly, is that "intellectually dishonest"? Ah, wait, it's not.

Who here is defending the return to British administrated India? Who here is defending the return to Soviet policies and practices?

Hmm. I don't think "intellectually dishonest" means what you think it means. The same applies to "reactionary bourgeois power clique". I know that one of the pillars of Stalinism was a conscious effort to redefine as much of the lexicon as possible to minimize the very ability of people to think badly of the Party, the Leader and of communism itself. But that never worked in real life when it was attempted with the aid of mass repression, so don't expect it to work in some internet message board, lol.

I thought we had already established that pulling some chart from your sleeve just isn't going to cut it. I can do that too. Why don't you go ahead and post your sources? How many of those asked had actually experienced the height of Soviet or Soviet-fostered oppression? Edited by 213374U
