It looks promising. I was aware of Dark Forces XL, but I had not heard of this remake.

Just wanted to confirm that even after all the Alpha Protocol's mess I'm still looking forward to New Vegas.

What I am not looking forward is the unannounced project, Obsidian, you burned up all your excuses now, so you have to deserve the praise, you can't live on Black Isle's successes forever. :sorcerer:

I must say I'm impressed by how well Spellbound has managed to evolve the existing creature roster from the earlier Gothic games into Arcania, and yet keep them close enough to the originals for me to instantly and instinctively recognize them:

I'll probably pick up Two Worlds 2 instead of Arcania.

Why would anyone do this? Pick up Two Worlds 2, I mean.

"Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"

Aside from horrid voice-acting, Two Worlds wasn't bad. Two Worlds 2 appears to be improving on all fronts.

To be honest, the only thing I've seen until now are screenshots and gameplay videos that look exactly like Two Worlds, with just a better visual presentation.

Maybe the voice acting will be better?

From the look of the screenshots, TWII will deliver the same inconsistent world-building that made Two Worlds such an honestly unique title!

Japanese cities? Why not! :sorcerer:

Two Worlds' world made more sense than both Gothic 3 & Oblivion. At least there wasn't a mountain climate, grassland & swamps ten steps away from each other... it's big enough to make the changes in climate & culture realistic.

The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.

And that's how the world is supposed to look like in 2027? Ridiculous.

The thing I liked about Deus Ex 1 was that it didn't went too crazy as far as cyberpunk goes.

I have to share your criticism.

They think Deus Ex didn't have a distinctive art style? Ok, that's fine, tweak the art style.

But the cities in Deus Ex looked NOTHING like this.

...meh.

Still cautiously optimistic, but I don't understand moves like this. Not at all. :ermm:

not having a distinctive art style helped make the game feel more "real".

i really want a good sequel to deus ex. I REALLY want one, but i just think its going to be more like what happened with bioshock, at best.

things were going well for a while, system shock 2 came out and was awesome, and then it was built on by deus ex, and it was even better... but then all the stuff that was awesome about deus ex was then ignored by all future gaming and there has been nothing like it since...

wtf happened?

Killing is kind of like playin' a basketball game. I am there. and the other player is there. and it's just the two of us. and I put the other player's body in my van. and I am the winner. - Nice Pete.

I share your excitement.

As do I. I'm maybe paranoid, but the main character (frame 1) is looking somehow more "anime" than he used to. Square Enix involvement scary.

A 2027 setting would/could/should mix "futuristic" architecture with the decrepit ~collapse scenery of Deus Ex. Let's see how they handle it.

You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that?

I don't see anything that makes him any more anime-ish than the drug dealer in the metro under Battery Park in DX 1.

The city: I don't remember how many years this story will be happening before DX 1, but the "collapse feel" doesn't necessarily have to be here (not that I wouldn't miss it).

And to be fair, at least it looks awesome.

Also, if I can jump around between the buildings with leg enhancements a kilometer above ground (while my fear of heights kicks in), I won't care how Deus Ex-ish it is. :3
