Cuz there's no way those are real-time! I'm looking forward to Starcraft II at the moment. I'm also thinking of picking up Fallout 2 via Good Old Games. I haven't played either of the Fallouts, but they both seem to be hot favorites amongst the good folks here. Do I need to have played Fallout to appreciate Fallout 2? Fallout 2's storyline is pretty self contained. But Fallout 1 is still a great game. I recently purchased and replayed Fallout via GOG, and its still a great roleplaying game. I'm planning on playing Fallout 2 next. There is even a higher resolution patch and community/fan made patches that fix bugs and add in cut content. I remember Ravenholm in Halflife 2, and to have an entire game like that, and co-op too? Looks promising. I took this job because I thought you were just a legend. Just a story. You definitely don't need to play one to fully appreciate the other, as the connections between the two aren't that strong to begin with, and the engine and UI are virtually unchanged. I am so looking forward to Oblivion with Guns mod, aka Fallout 3. Make sure it uses DRM, 1 install only and must be registered online before you can even play it. Hades was the life of the party. You are accessing THEIR games library. The games belong to them. Even if you are paying the $10 subscription, you aren't purchasing a specific title. It's like paying $10 to go into a movie theatre and being allowed to watch as many movies as you want for a month. Heck, they even let you watch some movies for free, like Fallout. Gametap does seem to be a good service but at the moment I'm only interested in these 2 games and its nice to own a copy of these classics, plus I want to support GoG. One is a card game, like a simplified version of Solitaire, one is basically a slot machine, and one is kind of like Roulette. The card game is the only one I've really found enjoyable. Sorry for the barrage of questions, but it seems pretty cool if ti works well. Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. I mean it's not life or death, it's just two guys posting their thoughts on a message board. If it were personal or face to face all the usual restraints would be in place, and we would never have reached this place in the first place. Try to remember that. Sorry for the barrage of questions, but it seems pretty cool if ti works well. I've had Gametap for a few months and I've never encountered any outages. It works very well for playing old and new games. Some of the older ones, like Kings Quest, run in windowed mode though. It is completely transparent when you are in a game. I haven't played Xcom on the service, but I always had issues running it in dosbox, mostly just with the speed settings (like the scrolling speed.) On Gametap, I've never had any issues running older games, they are programmed to be playable within the Gametap client. So yes, there is a client that all the games run on, and it isn't very intrusive. When I want to play a game from Gametap, I load up the client and launch it directly from the service. The Gametap client runs much like an internet browser. It's only 99 cents for the first month, if you are interested in giving it a try. I think it's well worth that. I'm also surprised at the newer titles they've managed to get a hold of. Jericho, the Sam & Max series, and Kane & Lynch are among the few that are included with your subscription. I'm inked for Fallout 3, although I have doubts about it on a variety of levels. None of the above excite me, but that way I can be pleasantly surprised. Still have my ear to the ground otherwise.
