The writing might be iffy, the soundtrack bland or there are some balancing issues with the gameplay. But still, it is worth its ten. But this time, the VO, the soundtrack, the 3D audio, the gameplay, the presentation, and the lasting appeal is simply unparalleled within the game genre. For me, it is simply impossible. You DON'T ever hand out a 10 unless the game is something timeless, near perfect. A 10 is something to strive for, not something to cheapen. Same thing applies to marking essays. Getting a 10 rather than a 9 is quite important for a publisher if its wider goal is to keep the metacritic score up in the 90s. An 'A' is the highest grade you can get in school, but between 'A' and 'B' there are a wide range of possible scores. 100 is the highest score possible, and to get that, your work has to be perfect, otherwise points are deducted.
