What are you playing now?

I restarted a game of Gothic 3, now with all the latest patches. It really is a fantastic game, despite the performance issues (stuttering and stuff). Damn, these Piranha Bytes guys really knows how to hit all the right strings in me. Gigantic, fully explorable world, tons of varied quests, truckloads of hidden stuff to find, interesting characters (especially if you enjoyed the previous two parts), decent story (that you're allowed to unravel in three different ways!) and just so much detail in everything.

If only you still had the ability to climb and dive (swimming is still in), it would be even better. I had so much fun climbing the branches of the trees in the world, and use that advantage to shoot fire arrows at wolves in Gothic & Gothic 2.. Gothic 3 uses Speed Tree, the most generic tree producer in the business. Branches don't even have hit detection anymore.

Anyhow, I am having a blast even though I am just up to Cape Dun (starting the liberation tomorrow).

icewind dale. i need to DL an ease of use pack, however. IWD is a loot-fest and not being able to stack more than 40 arrows creates problems when trying to get out of certain areas without going back and forth between the 4th level of a dungeon and town.

taks

Download the Dalekeeper saved game editor. You can edit it so you have a stack of 999 arrows.

Playing a bit of San Andreas, this time on the PC. Never did get myself to finish it, so we'll see how it goes this time. GTA series are a lot of fun, but they are also masters at providing some of the worst missions ever in gaming. And in San Andreas, this is worsened by the sometimes huge distances you have to cover.

yeah San Andreas sorta started to go downhill for me after having to do a few dance step missions... :)

It is rare treat for me to have so long time and so vague memories of game it nearly feels like new experience. Normally when I've seen something I remember it forever. But most of my memories concerning Deus Ex are very vague, propably because of my age and much worse english skillz back when I originally played it. I've got even more out of this game now than back then. :shifty:

But damn I hate the feeling of claustrophoby Unreal engine forces on the game even though maps themselves are huge.

How can it be a no ob build. It has PROVEN effective. I dare you to show your builds and I will tear you apart in an arugment about how these builds will won them.

Super Smash Brothers: Brawl

So, does it really deserve the praise it gets?

For the most part, yes. At the moment I have not found any major issues (although I do not like the final-smash system, but maybe that will change once I get used to it) and I am a long way from unlocking everything. The map editor is also cool, and I've started to fool around with that. I'll post more later, and some pictures if I can get any good ones while playing.

I've been playing NWN2:MotB since I'm late in getting it. Tried my hand at fixing a few glitches with the toolset so now I get to play it again and see if they worked. Also thinking about writing a module since the learning curve isn't as steep as I thought it might be.

Oblivion. I haven't enjoyed a game like this since Kotor 2 came out.

Assassin's Creed. I've just completed my first assassination in Damascus, and I'm having loads of fun.

Sticking a knife in the back of my target, and then running away was quite awesome. I went into this tunnel thingy, climbed up to the wooden beams, and then jumped from beam to beam until I reached the end of the tunnel, grabbed onto a metal bar, and stylishly leaped into a haystack below me, where I remained hidden for a while until all the soldiers dispersed.

The escape sequences are kind of like that awesome Tangiers chase scene in Bourne Ultimatum.

I recently just tried it out briefly at a friends house, and even in the short time I played it, I felt the possibility of extreme repetetiveness. The jumping around like a mad-man is great at first, but it actually really hurts the game after a while I think, since it's so easy to do. Just hold down the button and off you go.

Wasn't what I was hoping for at all (though again, only tried it rather briefly).

And it doesn't really serve any purpose either. It's just uninspired filler.

After finally beating Secret of the Silver Blades, I'm going to take a bit of a break with this older series to play some NwN 2, as I've yet to beat NwN 2/MotB with an evil character.

I've started up an evil specialist Necromancer Mage, who I intend on eventually converting to a Pale Master, and then a Red Wizard of Thay in MotB.

I'm in no way going to end playing the old Radiance series. I took a look at Pools of Darkness, the final in the series and it looks very cool. The start involves returning to Phlan 10 years after Pool of Radiance, Hillsfar, Curse of the Azure Bonds & Secret of the Silver Blades and its neat to see old characters and places. I'm hoping the series ends with a bang.

More Audiosurf. Whenever I get an email saying someone beat my high score its impossible to let it stand.
