It's actually still fine and dandy today.

Maybe for you, but I have higher standards.

Different standards, mabye, but I wouldn't call them higher.

....and here I thought we'd have a nice good discussion about the Witcher. WHY MUST YOU DESTROY ALL THAT I LOVE, SAND? WHY? :'(

Still can't find it mkreku, I assume I'll only be able to get it when it's around in US or the Netherlands.

So, what's a good way to import from the UK? What websites?

Ebay will probably have a UK release up before long. Otherwise:http://www.amazon.co.uk/

I tried Amazon.co.uk. They won't ship it to the US. And I just don't like to use eBay.

*shrugs*

They started this game a bit before nwn2 and went gold by the time the first XP1 came out. I honestly didn't think this was going to be released, past 6+ months 'vaporware' came to mind when I saw mention of this title.

None the less, good for them they did get it out. I just don't think it going to make much of a impact on the CRPG scene.

Scene? What scene? There's still only about dozen titles released a year. There's nothing to make an impact upon.

Anyways, I'm thinking about giving this the mid price treatment, mostly because I'm tied down by Civ 4 and others right now. What I've seen has looked good.

I guess you could hit up someone here on the board from the UK to buy it and UPS it to you. I have no idea what the dollar to pound rate is right now but it will probably be a little expensive. Wals might play ball on this one.

I'm actually going ahead and trying out game.co.uk. Anyone have cause to stop me?

Edit: Well, there seems to be difficulty ordering through them. They keep saying to check my address or payment details and it's all correct.

Edit2: I almost went ahead and signed up with HMV, but realized I'm really putting too much effort into this. I'll wait to hear more about it before I start searching all over the internet for an trustworthy importer.

Come back and give us your thoughts on it. I have this title on my must-buy list.

So, I ended up ordering it from HMV.com. Every now and then there's a game. A game I don't follow for even two moments. That I never show one iota of interest in and presume to be an overhyped piece of crud. And then, right when it's released, for no reason and based on little evidence, I must have it.

Sometimes this works out to my benefit. STALKER, I actually laughed at the people excited about it, yet ended up loving it. FEAR, never saw a single thing interesting until the day I was desperate for a new shooter, yet I also love that.

Sometimes this does not work out to my benefit. Fable, never was interested, after it was released I still wasn't interested, but one day I thought "what the hell." God, I hate Fable.

Dear Witcher, please don't be a Fable.

I heard it's point and click. Someone please dispel this absurdity.

There was a time when I questioned the ability for the schizoid to ever experience genuine happiness, at the very least for a prolonged segment of time. I am no closer to finding the answer, however, it has become apparent that contentment is certainly a realizable goal. I find these results to be adequate, if not pleasing. Unfortunately, connection is another subject entirely. When one has sufficiently examined the mind and their emotional constructs, connection can be easily imitated. More data must be gleaned and further collated before a sufficient judgment can be reached.

it looks like it's point and click - mostly due to the fact that it's build on the Bioware Aurora engine.

Old Skool point-and-click 2D adventure games = GOOD.

Point-and-click hack n' slash RPGs = BAD.

If the point and click system is done right, it could be a fun action combat by its own right.

People on the Codex say the game is full of bugs. I really hope this will be fixed in the near future...

I'll probably buy the digital download from Atari's site. Is there any difference between that and this infamous import version?

Yes, there is. All the infamous content will be cut. That means no green nipples for you, no sex-minigame, no sexcards and probably some other stuff, too. At the rpgwatch.com we've had some very nice discussions about this subject:

Here's two of the relecant threads:

If you can live with the nipples covered, and no sex mini-game as well as without stylized pictures of naked ladies (think as revealing as the 1940's-1950's pinup girls) you should be OK with the Atari download. Actually, the covered nipples could be alot more sexy than the swhon ones :)
