jaguars4ever
Dak’kon - Endure. In enduring, grow strong. (PS:T) HK-47 – Even (especially) if you’re a very harsh master, he still likes you. (KotOR 1 & 2) Minsc – Fool him once, shame on you. Fool him twice, watch it...he’s huge. (BG 1 & 2) Canderous – I want a Basilisk war droid! (KotOR 1 & 2) Immoen – How can you not like sweet Immy? (BG 1 & 2) Morte - Women were the reason he became a monk – and the reason he switched back. (PS:T) Deekin – Doom, doom, doom... (NWN: SoU & HoU) Auron – Along with Jin from Champloo, this guy’s like the coolest samurai ever. It’s gotta be the glasses. (FF10) Ziggurat 8 – Cyborg? Check. Complete and total baddass? Check. (Xenosaga 1, 2, & 3) Sulik – The spirit’s be willing to talk, or maybe it’s just grampy bone. (FO2) Honorable mentions: Lilacor – For a sword, Lils was totally sweet and awesome. Tale
10. Viki - Can teleport you across the world, but you might end up in the wrong city in someone's attic. (Suikoden I-V) 9. Sarevok - Evil has never amused me quite so much. (Baldur's Gate: Throne of Bhaal) 8. Viconia - She's fickle and gets upset over the simplest thing, just like a real woman. (Baldur's Gate entire series) 7. HK-47 - Okay, so maybe evil has amused me as much as Sarevok, meatbags. (KOTOR 1 & 2) 6. Citan Uzuki - Mentor, genius, philosopher, and spy. (Xenogears) 5. Magus - He may be after a good cause, but he's still pretty evil. Powerful magic, awesome scythe. (Chrono Trigger) 4. KOS-MOS - The ability to destroy entire fleets in one hot little blue haired android body. (Xenosaga: Episode I-III) 3. Vivi - PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWER!... midget (Final Fantasy IX) 2. Cloud (Tactics version) - Best secret character of all time. (Final Fantasy Tactics) 1. Aeris - Not only does she make a fitting and great healer, but her final Limit Break is literally as good as any two other characters'. Gorth
A rather limited list for me. Never had a console and never got into the japanese made stuff. And if it is party members only: Annah (PS:T) Best tail on any NPC Morte (PS:T) I hated him and his smartass attitude. Thing is, I just couldn't really hate him. In the end, I even felt sorry for him. Dak'kon (PS:T) Once you get to *know* him, he is not so bad. Edwin (BG1+2) Korgan Bloodaxe (BG2) No nonsense take no crap dwarf. Xan (BG1) We are all doomed Neeshka (NWN2) Thats NEEsh ka. Emphasis on the Nee Kelgar (NWN2) The second only ever dwarf that I liked Kreia (Kotor2) I still haven't quite figured her out. I am probably going to see a lot more to her once the TSLRP finishes The golem you can create in the lab in IWD2: MUST PROTECT MASTER! I felt kind of sad that I couldn't take him with me for the rest of the game. List is subject to change tomorrow. And the day after tomorrow. And the day after... etc. Edit: Duh. Cut and paste error. Looking for a new candidate Edit2: Found a new candidate. Just ignore first edit Edited July 8, 2007 by Gorth “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. Hurlshort
1. Fidel - Because he kills the annoying chick in JA1. 2. Ivan - Who needs English? 3. Grunty - Ja 4. Hitman - What's happening, Ace? 5. Magic - No explanation necessary 6. Mike - I think I liked him better when I killed him in JA2...he developed more character that way. 7. Biff - Most inspirational leader ever 8. Razor and Haywire - Dream team with knives 9. Fox - Made emotionally unstable gun nuts sexy again. 10. Nails - Don't touch the leather!

Jora
Dak'kon - Solving the mysteries of the Unbroken Circle was an unforgettable experience Morte - "Don't trust the skull" Loghaire Thunderstone - The dwarf king who had to make a big decision and lives in a cave because of his regret. Talking about Stone and Shape with him was one of the highlights of Arcanum Torian Kel - He can be found in the Ancient Temple east of Tarant. He has a great story to tell about the Derian Ka facing the "good guys", the Molochean Hand. I like it when an NPC's story is connected to the main storyline. Virgil - Not really well versed with the scriptures Magnus Shalefist - The dwarf standing in front of the headquarters of P. Schuyler & Sons. It's a shame my game is buggy as hell and I never managed to finish the Iron Clan quest properly. Vhailor - He's cool as a concept and I love convincing him he should be dead Ignus - He has a creepy background that involves TNO. Worthless Mutt - He is THE dog companion Yeslick - Found in Cloakwood mines. Give him the +2 electric hammer and he kicks ass Jazhara - The new court mage of Krondor. Kendaric - Former leader of the guild that specializes in raising shipwrecks from the sea with magic. No great personality, not as powerful as Jazhara, but the quest leading to him (investigating the Wreckers Guild) is memorable. Dynaheir - She has that extra spell slot and she can shoot fireballs Xan - What needs to be said? Charming personality coupled with his enchanting spells make up for his weak moonblade. Oops, was this supposed to be top10?

Aram
Ooh, neat topic. I'll take: Shadow, JA2. Coupled with my custom merc, Nailer, the two could rooftop snipe entire levels with ease. Magic, JA2. He could open any lock, shot unbearably well, and somehow managed to get the first turn on all those mother ****ing ****suckers who just sat around corners waiting for something to shoot. Dakkon, PS:T. For the reason already given. Studying with him, finding out his past and yours, was just great. He was also a cool character on his own merit, and he was good in combat. Nordom, PS:T. He was just a fun concept and I'll liked playing with him in the dialogue. Morte. PS:T. The part where the cracks disapeared in his head made me weep openly. Dogmeat, FO. He'd knock a bad guy on his back and chew on his groin while I shot him in the eyes. Best dog ever. HK-47. He was cool and funny. Incidentally, I got a wierd deja-vu Dakkony feeling when I uncovered the full extent of his history. Korgan, BG2. He was actually an interesting, believable character in a cast of characters consisting mostly of the mentally handicapped, mentally unstable, and mentally deficient. He was simply a pro. Viconia, BG2. She was a good healer, had a cool backstory, and made for good dialogue at times like when she served as a guide in the Underdark. The fact that you can show her your dia-log has nothing to do with her making the list. Deadpool, MUA. Not sure he really counts, but in Marvel UA, he rocks. mr insomniac
1. Dak'kon. Popular choice so far, but he's the most well-written NPCs I've come across. You have the look of one who has travelled far to be in this place. 2. Nordom. Voiced by the voice of Homer Simpson. 'nuff said. 3. Fall-From-Grace. Her faith in the Nameless One bumps her up to third place. 4. Morte. All attitude but with a heart of gold, if floating skulls can have hearts. He was always around to keep an eye on the Nameless One. 5. Annah. Fiery temper and, like Gorth said, the tail. 6. HK-47. Superior and disdainful attitude to all meatbags. 7. Minsc (and Boo). It's Minsc and Boo. 8. Jaheira. The romance in BG2 was cheesy, but I still liked her character. 9. Sulik. Most memorable of the FO2 companions, and since he was best with melee weapons (in my experience), he was least likely to kill you with "friendly fire". 10. Sarevok. Great idea for a recurring villain. I took this job because I thought you were just a legend. Just a story. A story to scare little kids. But you're the real deal. The demon who dares to challenge God. So what the hell do you want? Don't seem to me like you're out to make this stinkin' world a better place. Why you gotta kill all my men? Why you gotta kill me? Nothing personal. It's just revenge.

Humodour
Skynet (Cybernetic Brain) (FO2) ****ing awesome robot with its own mysterious agenda and a cool secret level to find it in... plus it packs a mean punch with a gauss rifle Imoen (BG1) Your cheery kid sister... love her rare click sounds "Good on you if you save the day", "Old puff guts would always tell me a story"... plus she's with you through think and thin. I think BG2 changed her character for the worse... but then it did that to most of the characters and annihilated their portraits Nordom (PS:T) Another awesome robot... this time slightly more insane and with an equally cool secret level... plus he's the only guy in the game with crossbows! Morte (PS:T) I was so dissapointed that I couldn't give Morte the body of one of those huge death knights in the final Mortuary level. Nordom: "A question, Morte: How do you stay aloft?" Morte: "Flatulence, you stupid polygon" Xan (BG1) Life is so hollow... he's got a cool voice set and a cool sword. Marcus (FO2) Lots of HP, can pack a pulse rifle... and overall a badass... especially in Cat's Paw, Reno. Mira (KOTOR2) Awesome girl who can become a Jedi. A Jedi who shoots rockets from her wrists. Annah (PS:T) Awesome in combat late game, used scissor claws, had a tail, had an Irish accent. What can I say? Haha the St Pat's day version of Annah is hilarious. Jolee (KOTOR 1) A wise old nutcase with awesome force powers and an awesome personality in the dialogues throughout the game (especially if it is he who saves the ship) Deeken (SoU/HotU) Loved this guy through both games. What can I say? Doom doom doom! Glad he gets his wings. I also liked: Dak'Kon - could get a bit dull, though... kind of monotone. Fall-From-Gace - poor combat skills, but awesome call lightning Sulik - He killed me a few too many times with the caseless cartridge SMG Cassidy - <3 gauss rifle Mission Vao - Twi'lek with two blasters! Visas Marr - Cool look HK-47 - Evil bastard Ian - Backstabbed me with bullets a few times. Minsc & Boo - It's a shame nothing cool ever happened to boo... like mutating into a REAL giant hamster. Man KOTOR 2 would be so sweet if it was finished. OMG! I forgot Tiax! TIAX RULES! MAKE WAY! Edited July 8, 2007 by Krezack
Dakar
1. HK-47 - God I love him, I wish he was in every game EVER. (KOTORs) 2. Viconia - Best female D&D party member ever. (BG2) 3. Slade - A ratman thief that becomes a NINJA. (Shining Force II) 4. Viki - Ultra useful, cute, and actually very strong in latest Suikoden. (Suikoden) 5. Frog - Awesome swordsman frog that wields a legendary sword. (Chrono Trigger) 6. Korgan - Kick-ass no nonsense killer dwarf. (BG2) 7. Edwin - Amazing wizard and fellow devious thinker. (BG2) 8. Canderous - To me he is Korgan in space. (KOTOR) 9. Georg "Deathblow" Prime - Probably my favorite Suikoden swordsman ever. (Suikoden V) 10. Dekar - He was cool so I stole my name from him, sort of. (Lufia 2) I just noticed reading my list I have two characters that are anthromorphic. And I HATE anthromorphic races in games. I guess I like those two because they weren't cat people and were unique and not part of larger ill-conceived anthromorphic races.

Enoch
To me, it's really the PS:T companions, and then the field (although Ignus, Vhailor, and Grace really didn't live up to the standard that the others set). I suppose Kreia and Jolee from the KotORs deserve some mention, too. The BG1 companions were nothing but a stat sheet, a picture, and a half-dozen quips, and I never really enjoyed the BG2 character interaction as much as many people seemed to. (The best part about the romances in BG2: the soundtracks for the Aerie & Jahiera romance conversations were the best tracks in the game.) The compelling character in BG2 was the villain, not any of the companions. Of the Fallout characters, FO2's Marcus is the best of the lot (and that's not saying much-- they all seemed like afterthoughts tossed into the game). I hated Arcanum. Some of the NWN2 companions had potential, but they were all kinda half-done, ending the game just shy of some actual meaningful development. So, I'll make it a top-5 and say: Dak'kon, Morte, Annah, Kreia, and Jolee. Nordom just misses the cut. Edited July 8, 2007 by Enoch
