Tale
There are people who actually enjoyed Fable? I mean, I know one guy, but I've known something was wrong with him for a while now. But there are others? "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
Hurlshort
I enjoyed Fable. It was a fun little RPG that didn't take itself too seriously. Unfortunately, it seems like a lot of people wanted more. Of course, I've never knocked a game for being too short, as I'm more likely to quit a game if it goes over 20 hours.
Tale
I've heard about people who expected more from it, but I wasn't one of them. I actually didn't know anything about it except that supposedly it was good. I'm not sure how exactly to put it. I always enjoy it when a game doesn't take itself too seriously. But Fable... maybe it was trying too hard. Or maybe it crossed the line from being "not serious" into "clownlike." All I know is that if it was trying to be funny, it wore the joke out early and kept stringing it along with a straight face, and if it was actually trying to be serious... god help us all. Another thing I always have to keep in mind one thing, there are people who love Diablo. And that's all Fable was, a hack and slash action RPG. Hurlshort
I'd hardly compare Fable to Diablo. One has you fighting wave after wave of attackers, and the other barely has any combat at all. Seriously, I'd call Fable more of an adventure game than anything else. I've also seen a lot worse dialogue out there.

Musopticon?
There has yet to be a game that Molyneux didn't overhype. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Those who were too weak to survive were sent to Sweden. It has made me the man I am today. Tale
He's trying to hype the fact that you get a dog in Fable 2. I think he's bleeding insane. Supposedly he's not even involved in development anymore. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."

Tale
I'd buy it for a pet penguin. Especially if I could attach lasers and poisonous claws to it. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
theslug
I can't stand this love **** he keeps going on about. I thought fable was a great game, just short on length and content. I almost wish they'd just keep everything the same from fable 1 and just new time line, new characters, new story, and just tons of new villages, quests, weapons, skills, spells, and all kinds of doodads. The one button and cinematic scripted combat doesn't resonate with me and neither does the dog. It just seems like a short lived gimmick or something...I'll still probably get the game since I loved fable 1. There was a time when I questioned the ability for the schizoid to ever experience genuine happiness, at the very least for a prolonged segment of time. I am no closer to finding the answer, however, it has become apparent that contentment is certainly a realizable goal. I find these results to be adequate, if not pleasing. Kaftan Barlast
Fable was ugly, repetitive, had a crap story, completely pointless key features and it wasnt very fun to play after you had tried all the haircuts. The list of grievances is too long to post, but my main negative is that the missions/quests were extremely repetitive. You either had to kill every monster or escort a random npc from one end of the level to the other, that was it. no variation. boring. Shryke
Gonna have to agree with Kaftan here i didn't even play it all the way through, i just got sick of all the FedEx quests and moved on to other games when your mind works against you - fight back with substance abuse! Hurlshort
It's like I played a different game. I don't even remember a fedex quest, and I'm not sure there were even enough quests to qualify as repetitive. I just remember impressing people with my giant bee head and getting a shiny axe from my wife after giving her a bit of black screen time.
theslug
Lol yeah there is probably 3 quests where you escort someone, maybe 4 but I kind of doubt it. One of them is completely optional and is just a dudewandering outside of town, another is you escorting a kid through the last half of a quest, which is basically 3 rooms. The only real escort quest is the one where the dude turns into a balverine, which is a crappy quest but w/e. Zero
At least he acknowleges that Hype hurt Fable. Took a new approach to the press for Fable 2, now he doesn't go off about anything untuil its already in the game, which should result in a game that comes closer to matching our expectations rather than being far worse than we think. Luckily I played Fable long after all the bitching had subsided and I quite enjoyed the game. Like I said he seems like a nice guy and his apology was sincere as far as I could tell (if you read that apology of the Lionhead forums). But if you followed that game for 3 years (I did) ; and all you got were these little glimpses.. and closer to release he says is going to be the greatest RPG ever. The devs really just gave you concept art and all these hints and than you got previews based on verbatim.. Its easy to understand why people were pissed... I was pissed.. But reading the apology did make the anger go away.. A image of perfection in one persons mind may not translate to the masses. I kinda feel for the guy, he said if Fable 2 isn't groundbreaking that he should reconsider his job. He seems very invested.. and you can see it in his eyes.. Or else he is just good at selling himself (I don't think thats the case, but you could probably argue it, as you can about anything).

Where are like the Star Trek episodes and crap people talk about? I believe that's US only. Bah, lame. It's also rather expensive. Each TV episode is like 2 or 3 bucks. They need to create a better business model or rely on some advertising dollars. I'd pay extra per month for unlimited access to the TV shows, but I won't pay per episode.
