Bokishi
Well games should be fun. If they were too real they wouldn't actually be games. Current 3DMark
LoneWolf16
True. Wasn't arguing that though. I had thought that some of nature's journeymen had made men and not made them well, for they imitated humanity so abominably. - Book of Counted Sorrows 'Cause I won't know the man that kills me and I don't know these men I kill but we all wind up on the same side 'cause ain't none of us doin' god's will. - Everlast
alanschu
I actually like CoD 2's health regeneration. I hated having to replay an entire level because my autosave has me at 2 health, and there's no medpacks nearby with a tiger tank blocking my way. As for Fallout versus Fallout 2, I choose Fallout 2. Fallout was too short.

I think the key here would be BNET and how easily it allowed for several players to get together

Musopticon?
I thought Quake made online gaming a standard. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Those who were too weak to survive were sent to Sweden. It has made me the man I am today. Pidesco
I'd say Quake too. It was the game that made online gaming really popular. kumquatq3
I thought Quake made online gaming a standard. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> an arguement could be made. I'd still side with Starcraft and BNet for making it a standard. Starcraft pretty much made multiple races a standard in RTS
Pidesco
Wasn't Diablo the first BNet game? StillLife
The online honor should go to Warcraft 2. Even on the Mac(what I was using at the time it was still fairly new) there were a ton of people playing it. That was when you still had to type in IP addresses. It's popularity only grew more when Battle.net rolled around.

There would've been no Battlenet if it weren't the huge online success WC2 enjoyed to inspire Blizzard to go that route. kumquatq3
8 player, but you need a lan or something, you couldn't do it via IPs, iirc
