Darth Drabek Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Watched Zoolander this weekend. That was a funny movie that got the short end of the stick. Very stupid, but funny. "Listen to your friend Billy Zane, he's a cool dude." Oh, and the David Bowie cameo was classic. baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs
Baley Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Was it her optimism? If so, I'm gonna guess you love Roberto Benigni. :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As much as I deplore Jeunet's solo movies. As much as I hate his puerile optimism and annoying camera tricks. I know for certain that I would not physically harm the man if given the chance. I'd punch Benigni straight in the kisser. No second thoughts whatsoever.
Pidesco Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 By the way, what happened to Marc Caro? IMDB has next to no info on the guy. "My hovercraft is full of eels!" - Hungarian tourist I am Dan Quayle of the Romans. I want to tattoo a map of the Netherlands on my nether lands. Heja Sverige!! Everyone should cuffawkle more. The wrench is your friend.
Baley Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 It's an enigma, but if you search various imdb Jeunet & Carot film boards, you're bound to dig up some interesting info. He stopped directing movies with Jeunet during Alien 4 (though I think he did some design work for that unfortunate disaster). He apparently didn't fancy big studio restrictions placed upon his art. http://www.twitchfilm.net/archives/005082.html
Kor Qel Droma Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I was fortunate enough to catch Every Which Way But Loose followed by Any Which Way You Can. That Clyde, he cracks me up. Jaguars4ever is still alive. No word of a lie.
Surreptishus Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Inside Man - Good Just Friends - Good Scary Movie 4 - Lame Date Movie - godayam!! what a horrible horrible excuse for a film.
Baley Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 (edited) Scary Movie 4 - LameDate Movie - godayam!! what a horrible horrible excuse for a film. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why? I mean why did you watch them. Edited May 15, 2006 by Baley
astr0creep Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Boredom and a morbid curiosity. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Wayans are WAY overrated on the big screen. Anybody seen I'm Gonna Git you Sucka? EWWW! http://entertainmentandbeyond.blogspot.com/
Pidesco Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Everybody says the Wayans suck. How can they be overrated? "My hovercraft is full of eels!" - Hungarian tourist I am Dan Quayle of the Romans. Surreptishus Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 (edited) The wayans only did the first two scary movies. They effectively got lucky with the the first. The third was done buy the Naked gun/airplane people and it turned out ok as a result. Edited May 15, 2006 by Surreptishus
astr0creep Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 (edited) Everybody says the Wayans suck. How can they be overrated? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Everybody says that? Then why are they still working so frakking much? *I need friends* I finally saw History of Violence last night. I was apprehensive at first because DC is usually too twisted for me and I didn't like most of his previous work(post-The Fly). I recognize his talent but what he does usually leaves me cold and sleepy. HoV is a very good film though with solid performances and a good story. The visuals are average, no fancy lighting or special effects but some shots are very nice to look at. I recommend it. Highly. Blarghagh Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 I saw Doom - which was... okay for an action movie, but totally not Doom. At all. It was more like, Resident Evil: The Movie, in Space. (Resident Evil was also okay for an action movie, but totally not Resident Evil. This seems to be in keeping with the game-to-movie trend.) Serenity - which was AWESOME. I didn't know this film was enjoyable for people who haven't seen Firefly.
Gfted1 Posted May 17, 2006 Author Posted May 17, 2006 Anybody seen I'm Gonna Git you Sucka? EWWW! I love that movie. "I got this medal for losing my eye in a paperclip fight." "I'm your biggest fan, Ill follow you until you love me, Papa"
Chupacabra Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 National Treasure was okay. The whole premise made it interesting, but Cages acting didn't help the film at all.
astr0creep Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Just saw Over the Hedge. http://entertainmentandbeyond.blogspot.com/

Baley Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Vertigo Plot Outline: Complex story about a San Francisco detective and his psychological troubles with fear of heights and obsession over a woman. Recommended. Rope's still my favourite Hitchcock.
Pidesco Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 The Incredible Shrinking Man Nice. Technically, it was pretty impressive. Has anyone around here seen Malick's The New World? Kaftan Barlast Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Not really a movie but I watched the pilot and first episode of "Firefly" and I hate it. More phasers and space battles and less cowboys plz. Pidesco Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Advent Children. It really sucks, but it's Final Fantasy, so it isn't a big surprise. It's really just one big FF cutscene. Tifa's fight scene was fun, on account of the music. "My hovercraft is full of eels!" - Hungarian tourist I am Dan Quayle of the Romans. I want to tattoo a map of the Netherlands on my nether lands.
