Darque Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 BloodRayne is an excellent game. I liked it so much I got it for both my GC and my PS2.

funcroc Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 http://www.ga-forum.com/showpost.php?p=2744100&postcount=52 Someone has the magazine. heres what it says. BioShock - Core gameplay centered on player choice and customization - Game takes place in the early 60s - Dev's main goal is total immersion in the story - you wake up in the ocean surrounded by debris and your first goal is survival - something about creatures in the ocean discovered by scientists - "We're creating a world for to be in. What you do is up to you, and you have to live with your choices." - One of your skills is agility and it makes you run faster - most upgrades will affect weapons - you can create weapons and items - you can hack stuff by being an engineer - A walkthrough is useless - you take the game where you want it to go (Sounds really open ended) - BioShock holds many mysteries - Xbox 360 and PC - O N L Y

mkreku Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Wow.. that little quote of hype sounds like the type of sandbox I would enjoy playing in. Like a Gothic in the sixties! Go Hippie-Gothic! Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
Morgoth Posted February 9, 2006 Author Posted February 9, 2006 60s? WTF? I thought it's gonna take place in the 21th century, where you explore an abandoned Nazi lab..... 60s... That's so old school. Probably Minute Man and Kate Archer will assist you in creating a bubble gum-thrower that let the enemies explode their heads a'la Mars Attacks. (w00t) Hey, doesn't sound so bad, after all... Rain makes everything better.
Berserk Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Bioshock will be good, but i am still looking forward to a new Freedom Force game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd rather see them using their time to make a better franchise instead..
Pidesco Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 It sounds like pure bliss!! (w00t) "My hovercraft is full of eels!" - Hungarian tourist I am Dan Quayle of the Romans. I want to tattoo a map of the Netherlands on my nether lands. Heja Sverige!! Everyone should cuffawkle more. The wrench is your friend.
Nick_i_am Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 '- you wake up in the ocean surrounded by debris and your first goal is survival' cool (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
CoM_Solaufein Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 The 60's eh? Lancer Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 (edited) There are some games that have actually lived up to the hype.. Granted, few and far between. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I can't think of one. Most games that go down as "great" are either low-hyped or not hyped at all. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> KOTOR1 for one lived up to the hype.. And lived up to it very well. So did the original Baldur's Gate. I wouldn't be *too* surpised if Bioshock actually turns out to be a really good game. Edited February 9, 2006 by Lancer Lancer
Gabrielle Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 The early 60's? That's like Beach Boys and stuff. Why not the late 60's with hippies, druggies and Woodstock? It sounds interesting none of the less though.
Lancer Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 (edited) Bioshock sounds *extremely* interesting except for the whole 60's theme thing. I dunno.Maybe it is just me but I would think the early 22nd century would make for a more interesting setting --if nothing more than just for the more interesting (and some would say "visionary" ) technology. Diogo Ribeiro Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 - Core gameplay centered on player choice and customization Which can very well mean "You can go left or right, and use a standard or silenced pistol". While I think Bioshock sounds terrific and will very likely be a good game, these feature lists stand somewhere between juvenile ("This is what I want my game to have!") and standard marketing hype ("let's make some vague statements and use trendy catchwords so they'll be sucked right in"). It's kinda like those Amazon products list, where features can go from "For PC" to "Many dungeons".

Lots of playable heroes, some deep npc personalities, nice stories and El Diablo.
